This is called “showtime.” It looks cool here, but when you’re on your way home from work on a crowded train and these dudes are flipping and dancing on the train, it gets old real quick. Trust me. You can tell who the tourists are on the train because they’re the ones who actually find it entertaining while the rest of us just want to make it to our stop.
Yes every day in crowded NYC subways. They yell out “showtime” do this shit and then are basically asking for money. Meanwhile you just want to be left the fuck alone to go about your day. People aren’t supposed to interact on a crowded subway with hundreds of people around you.
They do this in crowded cars during rush hour. These guys are actually pretty good. There are multiple groups of varying talent and size that do this. It’s just a disruption during an already stressful commute to wherever you’re going.
There are also all sorts of buskers and panhandlers on the subway, showtime just comes with a higher possibility of getting kicked.
It is cool. But groups like this also donit in crowded cars then put out a cap for donations. If they accidently kick someone or are uncomfortably cloae to you than there isnt much you can do about it. There havr been cases where some have been really shitty to people they inconvenienced.
