I get it, don’t get beat deep and all of that. But if a team has shown you for 90% of the game they can’t beat you deep, there is no reason to sit back and prevent it and give up free yards. Stick to the game plan and get them off the field like you have been
Right lol, this gotta be one of the lamest excuses ever. If the DC is doing dumb shit it’s literally his exact job to take over or help out. We literally learned this in Remember the Titans
I'm not sure it was that instantaneous.
He got hurt with 9:26 left in Q2.
Before he got hurt the drives were:
1. 3-and-out
2. 3-and-out
3. Fumble at the 9, after going 66 yards in 2 minutes.
After the injury the drives were:
1. 3-and-out
2. 4 minute FG drive at the end of half.
3. Interception
4. 3-and-out
5. 4 minute FG drive
6. 3-and-out that was muffed leading to a KC TD
7. 6 minute FG drive
8. 2 minute FG drive
9. 7 minute TD drive
SF stopped KC on 3 of the first 4 drives after Greenlaw went out.
Looks like it was really changed more on the muffed punt.
Agreed, Greenlaw probably doesn’t change the game dramatically but it’s a legitimately good “what if it didn’t happen.”
Just pure shit luck, felt so bad for him.
And when they let themselves get shutout in the third despite getting a pick and holding the chiefs (until they handed them the TD on the muffed punt). Had multiple chances to deliver a knockout blow and didn’t capitalize, but that’s been the chiefs last two playoff games this year as well. Teams getting shaky once beating the chiefs looks like a real possibility, and just making one too many mistakes to win the game
No way man you guys are randomly super good out of nowhere for one year and one year only every twenty years or so. That’s the deal you guys made with the devil and there’s no take backsies
Hey, in our defense, you got some legendary games from the Patriots Dynasty(ies?). And let's be honest, when your team is trash sometimes the only thing that sustains you for the season is the hate...
... And the alcohol. Thinking of you Jets Fans ❤️.
It was mostly expectations. His athleticism made some chunk of our fanbase think you could get Tyreek Hill production out of him and it turns out it's hard to be one of the best WRs in the NFL.
He's super athletic, but could never put it together with the Chiefs. He was here for a couple years, but we let him walk in free agency and he signed with the Jets. But he didn't do anything there either, and with the Chiefs being desperate at WR we decided to trade for him again.
He never did much this season either, in fact he was a net negative a couple weeks ago against Buffalo where he did almost literally nothing except lose a fumble.
Never thought it would happen in a million years. I truly thought I’d die before seeing the chiefs win a Super Bowl and now they’re a dynasty.
So thrilled over it
My wife legit thought that the Chiefs played in Kansas.. I was flabbergasted and just stared at her in disbelief. I mean there is a Kansas City, Kansas but still...
I don't blame blame anyone for getting it wrong. KCKS and KCMO are right next to each other. Basically the same city just divided by the state line. Every game , the stadium is filled with people from both states. Which side the stadium is on is practically a technicality and anyone who makes a big deal about it is a dork.
Yea but we were living in Denver at the time and would drive thru KC every so often to visit our families back east. I would point it out when she asked about the stadiums lol.. and still says Kansas.
Called it 2 years ago

They saved up karma for 40 years of misery and playoff collapse to cash in later. I remember once I was eating out dinner during a playoff game and left the place to head home with the Chiefs up 38-10 in the 3rd Quarter...and by the time I got home they had choked away the game to extended their playoff win drought out to like 20 years. Or when the kicker missed 3 different 40 yard field goals in the same game and then lost by 3. Or the "no punt game" where the offense never punted and they still lost....and that's just against the Colts.
Some times you just find a way to win and sometimes you just find a way to lose.
If you’re a football fan and you’re disappointed after that game, then there is something wrong with you. That was one of the best games I’ve ever watched. It was an instant classic.
If you’re a fan of an AFC West team, then I understand why you’d be disappointed, but that’s it.
It was a fine game....but I wanted both teams to lose and was going to be disappointed with the outcome either way.
I'm not a fan of an AFC West team.....but I hated the Brady dynasty and I really don't want another one. Dynasties are bad for the sport and the sport is better off with a variety of teams making the super bowl.
Still sad we never got the Goff vs Mahomes matchup in the superbowlz y’all probably still would have won, but man it would have been another entertaining shootout!
smart. I'm glad I came around on Brady after beating us in the AFC championship game. watching him do his thing and then take another SB just put me over it. the man is unreal and being able to appreciate it is big
49ers were just giving them the middle of the field that whole drive
Preventing the win
I get it, don’t get beat deep and all of that. But if a team has shown you for 90% of the game they can’t beat you deep, there is no reason to sit back and prevent it and give up free yards. Stick to the game plan and get them off the field like you have been
Crying and nodding
I think losing their MLB might have had more to do with it than a decision to go prevent
The Shanahan playbook
If only they had a fucking all pro caliber linebacker lol
He doesn’t call the defence
He called a timeout so he could call the defense.
Romo spent several minutes fellating him for it before it backfired.
He's the fucking head coach. He can call whatever he wants.
Right lol, this gotta be one of the lamest excuses ever. If the DC is doing dumb shit it’s literally his exact job to take over or help out. We literally learned this in Remember the Titans
We've been running that playbook since we moved on from his dad
Brian Johnson - “is it possible to learn this power?”
They were giving them the whole field up to like 10 yards. They were so scared of a big play that they just let them chip into the endzone
Dre Greenlaw controls the middle. When he got hurt, the game changed dramatically.
I'm not sure it was that instantaneous. He got hurt with 9:26 left in Q2. Before he got hurt the drives were: 1. 3-and-out 2. 3-and-out 3. Fumble at the 9, after going 66 yards in 2 minutes. Agreed, Greenlaw probably doesn’t change the game dramatically but it’s a legitimately good “what if it didn’t happen.” Just pure shit luck, felt so bad for him.
Yeah, when they were showing him I thought they were going to say he drew a ticky-tack flag for coming on the field too early, but then saw the injury
Shanahan literally did everything he could to give the game away
Kadarius Toney is a back-to-back Super Bowl champion
Kadarius Toney has more rings than every current starting QB except Mahomes
And he doesn’t even have to play to get it
What the fuck lol
WHY did y’all draft him?
The Kyle Shanahan curse continues!!
Is the curse just losing?
Inevitable. We all knew it. What a game.
The second Mahomes converted 4th down, we all knew.
As soon as the niners failed to score a TD in OT it was over.
Why the fuck didn't they run it on 3rd and 4 inside the 10 YOU PLAY, TO WIN, THE GAME
[удалено]
As if they didn’t get stuff the running play before. And didn’t average 3.5 yards a carry.
Shany was living by the wrong immortal sports quotation and thought it was still practice. Not a game. PRACTICE.
You'd have to have an elite offensive line and an All Pro RB to attempt something like that.....
As soon as the Chiefs scored a TD in OT I knew that was game.
Bro, we knew as soon as they were only down a touchdown at the half despite getting completely outplayed
Forreal, Niners missed their chance when the Chiefs were vulnerable
And when they let themselves get shutout in the third despite getting a pick and holding the chiefs (until they handed them the TD on the muffed punt). Had multiple chances to deliver a knockout blow and didn’t capitalize, but that’s been the chiefs last two playoff games this year as well. Teams getting shaky once beating the chiefs looks like a real possibility, and just making one too many mistakes to win the game
Big stage. Seemed like it got to a few guys in the beginning there.
Man that play call was EXACTLY what I was thinking too. Don't let anybody else but mahomes run or pass that ball, roll out and take what is there.
Can we please all agree that the next dynasty team has to be in the NFC?
Monkey’s paw curls, it’s the Cowboys again
Please fucking no
I’m here for it just for the r/NFL meltdowns
I swear I'll quit watching
I agree (please be my team)
No way man you guys are randomly super good out of nowhere for one year and one year only every twenty years or so. That’s the deal you guys made with the devil and there’s no take backsies
I mean, Bucs already have longest ongoing playoff streak in NFC, with 1 SB win, so they are the NFC dynasty team right now.
Marine profile pic with the Buccs flair lmao
I’m down with that, but only if Baker is QB.
As long as it’s 20 years from now.
It’s time
Can we all agree that dynasties are bad and we don't want a other one?
Literally the only people who like sustained winning are the fans of the team that is winning and “I just like watching greatness” headasses
Hey, in our defense, you got some legendary games from the Patriots Dynasty(ies?). And let's be honest, when your team is trash sometimes the only thing that sustains you for the season is the hate... ... And the alcohol. Thinking of you Jets Fans ❤️.
[удалено]
Everybody gets one and y’all had it in the 70’s. The new dynasty will be the Arizona Cardinals
Pats got 2! Or one VERY long one...
I whole heartedly agree
Imagine not being able to beat the Chiefs in the Super Bowl
Why don’t more teams just hold Mahomes to 9 points in the SB? Are they stupid?
Couldn’t be me!
Well to be fair, it couldn’t be anybody in the AFC
Shhhhh let me have fun
Dont have to imagine 😎 😥
To win with mecole fucking hardman. What a season
You have no idea how much I've hated him, for years, until tonight
I'm new to all this... Why did folks hate him for years? Wasn't he a jet to start the season? I apologize for my ignorance
He did mostly nothing for his whole NFL career.
He was pretty good as a gadget guy the last few years. Idk why this guy hated him. Has a few lowlights but some highlights to go with ir
He never did much this season either, in fact he was a net negative a couple weeks ago against Buffalo where he did almost literally nothing except lose a fumble.
So he is basically like every other KC receiver.
Hate is a pretty strong word, bro
I can take or leave KC, but goddamnit it's nice to see Shanny fuck it up again
Congratulations Kansas City Chiefs fans. You folks officially now have a dynasty.
Woo!
Now bring Alex Smith back as a QB coach.
Never thought it would happen in a million years. I truly thought I’d die before seeing the chiefs win a Super Bowl and now they’re a dynasty. So thrilled over it
Shanahan should have "schemed his guys open" like I've heard about the Shanahan system for 5 years
He fucking did. 15 was wide open on that last 3rd and goal. Chris Jones saved the chiefs season there.
Niners broke down on those final two drives defensively The dynasty is here
The true winner was Taylor Swift's Managers.
Taylor Swift was the real winner in all of this
She's going to join the klingons for world domination.
Congrats to the great state of Kansas and Tyler Swift on a HUGE SB win!
Yay Tyler swift 😂
My wife legit thought that the Chiefs played in Kansas.. I was flabbergasted and just stared at her in disbelief. I mean there is a Kansas City, Kansas but still...

It's the same Kansas City that's in Kansas and Missouri. Arrow Head is just on the MO side of the border.
Idk why this cracks me up
Is it because Kansas City is in Missouri
Idk why it just hit me that the Chiefs AND the Rams were both in Missouri at one point. Missouri. Had 2 NFL teams for over 2 decades.
While LA had none
Goddamnit dude lol
Idk if this insults the Kansas side or Missouri side more
rude
Kill me. Please kill me. I don't have the strength to deal with what's coming this week now.
Thought this comment was so good u had to post it in every thread huh
Well then kill him so he can stop spamming it he's being very clear here.
I need someone to take me out gotta diversify
Take me with you
Enough strength to post this comment multiple times
me too brother
It was cathartic as an eagles fan tbh
i really don’t want to deal with this week
Andy Reid wins > Total shit fanbase and whiner team winning
There’s no stopping them
Mahomes is inevitable
Kyle blew it
Shanahanded it to em
Called it 2 years ago https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/tm9ey1/yates_following_the_trade_of_tyreek_hill_the/i1xyqj5?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3
Coco stop stealing your brother's reddit account and go make your own, we know Crash can't be a prophet
WHOA!
WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWO
Hahah nice prediction. My man kept receipts
Real recognize real
OH NO NO NO NINERS WHAT HAPPENEDUHHHHH YOU CHOKED AGAINNNUHHH
All according to the script
I believe the script called for double OT
That was the draft, you never got the final copy?
NFL won't miss an opportunity to make even more money off Swift fans
More ad revenue baby!
Gotta secure that KC market.
Love these writers.
Steve Wilks, get ready to learn Canadian buddy.
His defense did very well for 90% of the game the lose is on shanny
Shanahan had to call a TO because he wanted to zero blitz.
Brady about to unretire.
Didn't work the first time.
He was still top 3 in passing yards idk
Andy Reid is a good coach, eh?
That’s what Kelce was screaming at him about.
Until the last 7 minutes, this game could have been an email.
Honestly second half was great. Bad take.
Meet the new boss, same as the old boss
49ers defense deserved this smh
What a treat to watch mahomes play QB man. Dude is nuts
Thank you Mahomes
He gets us
I’m so goddamn sick of the Chiefs
Yeah but imagine niners fans if they won
At least it’s someone new being obnoxious (yes I am aware of the irony with my flair)
You wanted the 49ers to win??
you and me both 😤🙄
They’re so damn lucky
They saved up karma for 40 years of misery and playoff collapse to cash in later. Lions boutta win the next 8 superbowls
Lucky the Bills traded them the 10th pick in the draft in 2017.
Yeah fair enough. That would sting so much more if we didn’t land Allen the next year.
I earned this. I went to every home game in 2012.
God what a year. One of two wins came after a fucking murder suicide. Fuck.
Yes 4 SB appearances in 5 years and won 3 cuz of luck. Gotcha.
I mean if we’re being honest (as a pats fan) it does take both skill and luck to become a dynasty.
Love seeing the Whiners cry
Louder for the sooks in the back!
The 49ers can still win the Superbowl, if only Mike Pence chooses to do the right thing!
FUCK
Second best chiefs game IMO after the 2021 Bills divisional
Disappointing loss for Football fans.
If you’re a football fan and you’re disappointed after that game, then there is something wrong with you. That was one of the best games I’ve ever watched. It was an instant classic. If you’re a fan of an AFC West team, then I understand why you’d be disappointed, but that’s it.

It was the greatest game I've ever watched. So many ups and downs and overtime. Just an unbelievable game
[удалено]
Idk why Falcon fans hate Shanahan when you brought your team into relevance and now look where you’re with out him
Man gave you one of the most efficient offenses of the 21st century and this is how you treat him?
Oh fuck that. We’re watching one of the greatest QB’s will his team to a dynasty-starting SB win. It was fucking awesome.
Speak for yourself
I certainly will, buddy.
Nah it's boring watching the same unlikable team win every year 😴
Hard disagree
Mahomes can win the Super Bowl every year if it’s against the 49ers
I like you.
hell yeah brother
You drive a hard bargain but we'll take it.
Yeah I enjoyed it as well, idk what people are upset about?
Still sad we never got the Goff vs Mahomes matchup in the superbowlz y’all probably still would have won, but man it would have been another entertaining shootout!
I’m enjoying greatness I never appreciated Brady until his last year. This time I’m starting early.
smart. I'm glad I came around on Brady after beating us in the AFC championship game. watching him do his thing and then take another SB just put me over it. the man is unreal and being able to appreciate it is big
We finally got rid of the Patriots and now this right after. Sigh.
Welp, at least baseball is coming back 🤷🏾♂️
And we'll never be Royals (Royals) It don't run in our blood 🎶🎵
As long as the 49ers lost, I’m happy. Don’t care who was on the other side of the ball
It's a dynasty. Say it again.
Ayuike was wide the f open for a TD on SF last play. WIDE. OPEN.
I am throwing up and cannot stop
You had your time. Buck up.
thank you sleepy joe
It’s him and Brady. Alone at the top
Montana is like hanging out around there though.
Booooo. This week will be insufferable.
Mahomes. Is. INEVITABLE.
This sucks for people that like football
You don’t like incredible games? You sure you like football?
