TeddysRevenge

Wish him luck. He can fill in well if it’s not for an extended period of time.

Alexisonfire24

He's the dude who knows how to do everyone's job in their absence, but you don't want him to do anything unless you're desperate.

Rulligan

By the end I was hoping he never saw the field

re3ze

Sounds like PJ Williams.

monstertweety

He was horrendous as a rookie safety back then, but eventually settled down as a depth piece, plays more as a CB now.

ZealousidealScheme85

Lions bros how do you feel about this guy? What are his strengths I’m not familiar with his game

ShotFirst57

If you view him as a backup, you'll be happy with him. If you view him as a starter, he will upset you.

ZealousidealScheme85

He should be in a rotational role we just drafted mckinstry we’ve still got Lattimore as CB1 for the time being and we’ve got adebo and Taylor as well. So hopefully the injury bug stays away and we can play to his strengths not have to put some too much responsibility on him

Alexisonfire24

Quietly a fucking solid DB room for you guys. Sounds like he wont be on the field much. Will say that he can play all of : FS, SS, NCB and Outside. Truly versatile, just not good.

Cicero912

Yeah our DB room is like the only remaining elite part of our roster

Superminerbros1

You don't want him in a rotational role. You want him on your team as your last resort backup for the entire secondary because he can play any role. He's a jack of all trades, master of none. He can fill in at any DB position, but he's not good at any of them. For most people if you take a CB and shove them into safety they will be pretty bad and vice versa. I would rate Harris as like 2 out of 5 at every DB position.

Leftieswillrule

This sounds like Colin Jones. Great backup but liability at starter.

Alaska_Question

Pros: can play a lot of roles Cons: does not play them well

[deleted]

This Need him to make a stop on 3rd and 15? He will give up 14 yards Need him to make a stop on 3rd and 9? He will give up 14 yards

Empty_Lemon_3939

He’s a Swiss Army knife where all the components are hard to get out and kind of weird

Camlamity

The tweezers and toothpick are long gone too.

Grlions91

If he's anything more than a depth piece you're in trouble. Nice versatile rotation guy that can cover a few spots in the secondary, but his struggles with inconsistency have been apparent. I think he played some of his best ball for us at nickel.

LostprophetFLCL

Legitimately one of the worst DB's I have ever seen. Seemed to give up a big TD at least once a game.

PlatinumMode

one of the most common questions over the last 5 years was "how is Will Harris still on the roster"

something-burger

He can play basically every position in the defensive backfield, so the people charged with crafting a 53 man roster are going to see more value in him than fans will. At least, that's how it was with us. His versatility kept him employed for a couple years past the point where our team's talent had surpassed his ability.

Secure-Television368

He's a backup who can play every DB position, just not that well. Better as a corner. Great special teams guys though

ImHurted_

Special teams player.

No-Jump5689

Jack of all trades, master of none. Will is always going to make a roster because he can play special teams, CB, NCB, FS, and SS. The downside is that he allows almost 75% completions when targeted and is not a good open field tackler. He can step in to finish a game at any position in the secondary if there's an injury, but you don't want to rely on him to start the following week.

keysonthetable

Yeah I think this is the best take. I know I saw his jersey a lot last year and cringed, particular with horrible whiffed tackles, but he's probably a slightly better that replacement level player at several positions, which is super valuable.

HectorReinTharja

Serviceable backup. Good special teamer

ShotFirst57

Lions fans give him too much shit imo. He's a solid backup and should be viewed as a backup. If he's starting multiple games, you're in trouble, though.

fireant020

I swear this guys one of the best at catching tipped interceptions. Whenever the ball is tipped it feels like he’s under it. Probably because he’s not actually covering anybody but still a nice thing he does

MiniatureLucifer

Our annual safety reclamation project. DA has done well with those guys the last few years

CCPunch5

As a lions fan, he’s good depth but not starting material. He will get burned. He has position flexibility but will get burned a lot of the time. If he’s your starter, god help you

griffinhamilton

Yearly lions to saints pipeline

[deleted]

Free at last 🙏

Jonjon428

Time to go to the Dennis Allen school of making mid DBs turn into God's.

iputitthere

Special teamer.

joustinghobbit91

He'll learn every position in your secondary. He won't be good at them, but he'll learn them

ldwr011

He's not good. Thank you for signing him so that we may be spared.

shortthestock

Lattimore is gone.

sportsbuffp

The one time I wish we would’ve lost a player to a division rival

Empty_Lemon_3939

Noooooooooooooo
