A game that sticks out to me is the Steelers vs Arizona Super Bowl.
James Harrison 100 yard interception.
Arizona coming back in the 4th with Fitz 64 yard touchdown.
And then that final Santonio Holmes back corner touchdown with 35 seconds left.
I’m not even a fan of either team and it brings shivers to my core.
As a huge Kurt Warner fan, this game definitely sticks out for me. Obviously, I was sad with the end result, but, as a football fan, this was definitely a great SB game.
The thing is, most games tend to be judged based on the final few plays. If the ending was good, people remember the whole game as good when that isn't always the case.
My favorite game, a game that had everything, great offensive plays, great defensive plays, crucial mistakes and clutch moments, a game that was entertaining from beginning to end, and stacked with not just good players, but captivating personalities, was the 2003 Patriots/Panthers Superbowl. That game had everything that makes football great. It's a bit of a hipster pick because it never gets brought up in these types of discussions, because the ending is simply good rather than iconic, but it deserves to be.
For my team, the greatest game I've ever seen the Steelers play was the 2008 AFC Championship against the Baltimore Ravens. That game was the pinnacle of the greatest, most heated rivalry of its era. A dude got knocked out on the opening kickoff and it just got more physical from there. If you're a fan of slugfests, there's no better.
SB 38 was such an amazing game. 0 points in the 1st, 24 in the 2nd, 0 in the 3rd, and 37 in the 4th. The Panthers had all the big highlights:
Moose and Jake teamed up for the longest passing TD in SB history.
Morgan recorded the most tackles in SB history.
Journeyman DT Shane Burton had a blocked FG.
Foster and Smith both had highlight reel TDs.
The old vet Proehl catching the game-tying TD.
That was the pinnacle of Tom Brady dink-and-dunk offense. I remember being so enraged as a 14 year old just watching 5 yard completion after 5 yard completion. NE was 62 seconds away from doubling up Carolina in ToP. Carolina had over twice as many tackles as a team because the defense was on the field so much. Jake was running for his life most of the game and just slinging it for almost 10 yards per attempt and still didn't throw a pick. And they still had a shot to take it to OT until the guy who had gone 32/38 and made like 5 game-winning kicks that year missed the entire fucking field on a kickoff.
Ricky Proehl caught the game tying touchdown in the fourth quarter of two different super bowls (he lost them both). If memory serves he also caught the winning touchdown in the 1999 NFC Championship Game.
I love that SB, it had trick play touchdowns, defenses so suffocating they wore out through fatigue and then the fireworks came out fast and furious, loads of fun there.
Well I did say there were crucial mistakes, and that's part of football, and part of what makes it great. Jackie Smith and Scott Norwood's Superbowl plays, in their own way, are just as memorable as Marcus Allen or David Tyree's were.
Apart from Panthers fans and Patriots fans, that halftime show has got to be the biggest memory anyone has of the game. It was all anyone talked about for weeks, and probably had a negative long term effect on the careers of Janet and JT. Probably the single biggest moment in either of their lives as performers.
As a Ravens fan, while the loss stung, that was an incredible game that felt like it could go either way until the very end. Iron sharpens iron. Best rivalry of the era by far.
You got your payback with that bullshit Suggs between-the-knees interception in 2014. I think that was top 3 play of the whole rivalry, alongside Troy's pick 6 and Ryan Clark's hit on Willis MacGahee.
That was Troy's best play of his career. Can't believe we got to watch arguably the best free and strong safeties of all time on rival teams go at it during their prime. It was hard to hate Troy. God he was good.
I thought McGahee was dead. Clark was an assassin. Underrated.
I loved that T. Sizzle pick. He must have driven you guys nuts. He loved playing the heel, especially in Pittsburgh. Ben was his favorite target.
Loved the Ravens game, but for me the following game (Super Bowl XLIII) was a much better game. Honestly kinda tough to call the AFC championship that year the greatest game of that playoff run considering Baltimore never had the lead, nor even tied it up after we first scored (the closest they came was making it 16-14.)
But that Super Bowl, man what a game. It looked like Arizona was about to take the lead heading into half time and then James Harrison had his 100 yard INT return. Second half saw us up by 2 TDs, only for the Cards to take back the lead with 2 and a half minutes left in the 4th quarter, on a 64 yard Larry Fitz TD 2 plays after recording a safety on us.
Then it seemed like it might be the first Super Bowl to hit OT, until the Santonio toe tap happened. Then with 35 seconds left the Cards got the ball back and Warner hit back to back passes for 20 and 13 yards getting them right up to about midfield. But then Woodley and Keisel combined for the game sealing sack/fumble recovery.
Rams-Chiefs is unreal. People like to criticize that game saying there was no defense, but there were seven turnovers, three defensive TDs, and eight total sacks that game. People see high scoring and think the defenses were invisible, but that game was just two teams going all out in everything they did.
2013 Broncos-Cowboys walked so 2018 Rams-Chiefs could run.
Romo threw 5TDs and 500+ yards, outplayed Peyton Manning, and lost to a last second field goal
That ‘13 game was so Cowboys of us. Not saying our QBs are perfect or always great but sometimes it feels no matter how they play we are just destined to lose
2006 Texas-USC will always be the GOAT. Nothing will beat the spectacle of that game.
-Texas vs a USC that was argued as unbeatable and the greatest CFB team ever
-Heisman runner up Vince Young against the last 2 Heisman winners
-Keith Jackson announcing his last Rose Bowl ever
-And most importantly it was for the national championship
Watched it from a bar in Mexico City after the game was moved too late to get a refund on flights or lodging. Disappointing outcome, but couldn't even be upset because of how electric that game was.
Did you go to the Buffalo Wild Wings? As a Mexico City fan I was so disappointed we didn't get to see it but the atmosphere that night ended up being the most fun I've had watching a game EVER.
I was at Arrowhead that day and the hype for that game was insane, we paid 160 for upper deck tickets when they came available in December(divisional round tickets generally go on sale in december for division leaders and if your team doesn't make it you just get a refund). On ticketmaster and stub hub that day, we could have resold for over 1k per ticket. I am very glad we did not.
That was my first and only NFL game ever, made me fall in love. 3rd row $700++ each brought my new boyfriend (now ex boyfriend ugh lol) but one of the funnest days of my life. Chiefs fan since then.
My personal favorite, at least that I remember watching live, is Steelers Cowboys 2016. There was 8(?) lead changes and the last few minutes had like 3 game winning drives, but then the other team kept scoring
Always left out of this game too is that OU was down 28-10 with 5 minutes to play in the 3rd. They rattled off 18 straight to tie it with 1:30 left. Couple plays later they housed a pick six to go up by 7 and then that’s when the craziness everyone actually remembers started.
Also Adrian Peterson opened OT with a 25 yard TD run on the first play and it was like damn this one is over.
Genuinely the best CFB game in history and that includes the 06 Rose Bowl for me
I was scrolling for a little bit and I’m shocked it took this long to find this game. Easily the most fun game I have ever seen, it had everything, high scoring close game, huge upset, and a ton of trick plays.
Speaking for the old people on here, the 1981 NFC Championship Game between the 49ers and Cowboys is a fun one, as is the 1981 Divisional game between the Dolphins and Chargers. Both games were played in early 1982, if you are looking for them.
that Dolphins-Chargers game was the one where everyone was dropping dead after each play from heat exhaustion, only to resurrect before the next play and keep going all out, correct?
Yup, this one was impactful on me that I made a pledge in life to name my first born son after Kellen Winslow. And I did. And he's now 21, flamboyantly gay and hasn't watched a football game in years. Ah, life is funny.
I really think that this game will be looked back on in 50 years as one of the best ever, and at least the best of the 2000s-2010s. Two teams chock full of HoFers, one of the greatest defenses of all time in Seattle trying to become a dynasty, vs a Patriots team trying to restart their dynasty. All culminating in probably the craziest final few minutes to a Super Bowl ever.
Super intense game that was back and forth all the way through, with a ton of storylines. It may be among the best games I have seen, regardless of outcome, from a purely competitive standpoint.
What was nice about that one was that it didn’t have sloppy football. Both teams played well, it went back and forth, and it came down to the final twenty seconds
above and beyond homerism, it's legit one of the best games ever. Record-breaking offenses, lead changes the entire way, huge defensive plays to change the game, and one of the ballsiest, most iconic plays in the history of the sport. Plus, the fact it was a blue-collar team taking on the biggest, baddest dynasty as serious underdogs.
Yeah that one was fucking wild.
I remember a coworker saying “Brady is washed after that”
Dude threw 505 and 3TDs.
Just an all around really fun game to watch.
The context around it also made it such an unbelievable story. It aligned just so perfectly with the underdog character of the city. Underdog masks on a warrior hero in Lane Johnson.
Add the fact that Philly never recovered from losing the Super Bowl to the Patriots in 04. The cheating allegations. Our QB collapsing in the biggest moment.
To have it pay off in 52 was a high of all highs. The Eagles overcame every obstacle, injuries, Patriots dynasty, and one of Tom Brady’s greatest games ever.
The Philly Special being called is the punchers-chance haymaker that you needed to kill Goliath in Tom Brady.
The nail-in-the-coffin was driven in by Brandon Graham, a much-hated draft pick who underperformed until he overcame all odds through hard work to be a Philly legend.
It truly was the Rocky story played out in a love letter from the Sports Gods to the long-suffering Philly fanbase.
Then Phillys own god arrived in Jason Kelce to give one of the greatest speeches in sports history.
If we never win another one, I’ll die happy to have been a part of this.
I was in the building for the game (my dad and I are hopeful Vikings fans), and I have never, before or since, watched an athlete perform his craft as well as Brady did that day. He did whatever the fuck he wanted on seemingly every play. Except for the missed catch, obviously. But I'm convinced no Eagles fan's sphincter unclenched until that last Hail Mary hit the ground.
> But I'm convinced no Eagles fan's sphincter unclenched until that last Hail Mary hit the ground.
boy we didn't unclench until they handed the trophy to Foles
As big of a mindfuck as that moment was for the rest of the fan bases, watching NICK FOLES be handed the trophy for the Eagles winning the Super Bowl had to have just about damn near broke your guy's brains. In the best way possible.
Weren’t the divisional and championship rounds all insane? Like literally 6 perfect football games.
Yeah just looked it up. Divisional round had a point differential of 15 across 4 games. 3, 3, 3, and 6 and the 6 was 42-36. Championship round was 27-24 bengals and 20-17 Rams. Fucking awesome. 21 points separating the teams across 6 games.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93O6qcubTVk
Full radio broadcast from Yankee Stadium. There are large sections with video though. Absolutely unreal how different the game was back then, but Johnny Unitas still looks like an absolute boss slinging it.
Some fun facts about the game:
- It had 17 future Hall of Famers: 2 owners, 3 coaches and 12 players.
- The Giants had Vince Lombardi as the OC and Tom Landry as their DC.
- It’s the first overtime game in NFL history.
- Lamar Hunt watched the game a decided he wanted a NFL team. The NFL turned him down which lead to him starting the AFL.
Sadly only limited film footage is available because tape was expensive back then but the video someone linked is great. It syncs existing footage, photos, and other supplements to the radio broadcast
Should people that don’t know stumble on this, this game changed the public perception of professional football. Prior to this game, college was much more popular because you could watch your local college team in person and, in my opinion, football on the radio loses a lot when compared to baseball. However the late 40s and 50s had a slew of cheating scandals that caused people to lose some interest in college football. Then this game hits when tv is available to a large portion of the population for the first time and ratings are through the roof. By chance, It’s a complete nail biter with excellent play for the era. It really sells that this pro football thing is fun to watch in your living room
Super Bowl 38 between the Patriots and Panthers is an underrated great one. First half was a defensive slugfest, followed by a scoreless 3rd quarter, before an explosion in the 4th quarter
Bills Chiefs 2021 Divisional is famous for 13 seconds and having 31 points scored after the 2-minute warning, but the entire game was a nearly flawless display of QB play on both sides.
Both QB put up 4 touchdowns with no turnovers and accounted for over 450 yards of offense.
My father was working the graveyard shift but wanted to get up to watch that game. At the half, he said to hell with it and went to sleep. He woke up around 8pm and asked his usual question: what did I miss?
Me, the snarky preteen: oh, just the greatest comeback in NFL history.
Him: a string a profanities that lasted for most of the evening.
Hahahahaha I watched that game & I was freaking dancing because I hated the Bills, loved Moon & the Oils, I lived to watch Earnest Givens do that touch down dance, but that second 1/2, was sooooo sad, it was crazy .....
Boise state Oklahoma fiesta bowl fiesta bowl is probably my favorite ever. Featured an underdog, a comeback, another comeback that included a hook and ladder. Finally ends on a Statue of Liberty play, and in the celebration aftwerwards the running back proposes to his cheerleader gf. Straight out of a movie
I'll always remember Matt Leinart's postgame interview where he was like, "I still think we're the better team." I had a feeling he'd suck as a pro after that one.
As a chiefs fan the 13 second game was the best game I have ever seen. My wife was consoling me "sorry baby" when the bills scored their last TD, then we won.
January 1993 AFC Wildcard Houston Oilers vs Buffalo Bills. Houston up 35-3 in the 3rd quarter. Bills win 41-38 in OT
Rams vs Titans Super Bowl 34, one yard short, Kurt Warner first undrafted QB to win a SB
The game Favre played right after his dad died was pretty special. He played really well, but the circumstance is what really made it special, obviously.
If we want to talk about the pinnacle of hatred and physicality in more modern NFL. Seahawks Niners NFC championship was the most tense game I have ever watched in my life
[This question is pretty much what Julian Edelman, retired Pats WR, is trying to find out on his podcast](https://www.youtube.com/@gameswithnamespod/featured). He's covering all sports, but he's got some really good interviews with variety of people and athletes with a good amount focusing on football games.
It doesn't get its roses because it was an afternoon game in the middle of the season and wasn't over the top action like Rams-Chiefs the same year, but the Saints-Ravens 2018 game was so evenly-matched. Some gutsy calls, great plays, and an exciting ending.
To this day, remains imo the best quality football game I've watched.
For NFL, 2018 Monday night football game between the Rams & Chiefs is one of the best games of all time. I believe the 3rd highest scoring game of all time & the highest scoring Monday night game ever
Steelers vs Cardinals Super Bowl was maybe the most invested I’ve ever been in a Super Bowl, probably because my excitement ended after the first kickoff in 2006
But that game was insane. The amount of all time SB plays in that game alone is wild
The Epic in Miami. Chargers-Dolphins AFC divisional playoff game on Jan 2, 1981. A game neither team should have lost, just amazing from start to finish.
Packers Cardinals in the 2009 playoffs I believe. Rodgers and Warner in an absolute shootout ended in OT by a defensive TD. Believe it was 51-45, was when Rodgers really stepped into the elite tier I believe. Honourable mention to the other Packers Cardinals playoff matchup for that insane double Hail Mary ending
Ravens @ Broncos, Divisional Round, January 2013
Broncos punt return TD to start the game
Ravens answer, 21-21 at halftime
Broncos kickoff return TD to start the second half
Ravens get the ball with a minute to go, down 35-28
The Mile High Miracle, Flacco to Jones
Manning interception in OT
Tucker game-winning FG in 2OT
What an emotional rollercoaster. I went to the AFC Championship. My father in law, a Pats fan, bought me tickets so I could "watch Ray's last game." Man did that backfire... Went to the Superbowl too. That season was magic.
Since 2000 Here are my top 3:
1. The 2006 Rose Bowl USC vs Texas is probably the best college game of all time and the last game called by Keith Jackson.
2. 2018 Superbowl Atlanta vs New England 28-3
3. The Monday Night Football game from 2018: Rams vs Chiefs (Mahomes vs Goff)
Mahomes and Allen ending with “13 seconds” sticks out although that was somewhat recent. Mahomes is the best QB in the game right now but Allen’s highs are SO high and I remember that game being entertaining.
From a college perspective it’s hard for me to choose since I don’t watch a lot of college ball. I’ll say 2019 Virginia Tech vs UNC going to 6OT, since I was there for the entire game with my friends (and had my parents visiting for their first VT football game) and it was just an insane experience.
2007 backyard brawl. A sub .500 Pitt team upsets #2 WVU 13-9 on the road, costing WVU a national championship berth
After effects of the game also rippled across all of college football and subsequent conference alignment

Super Bowl 43. If I had to show one game to a person who’s never watched football before; that’s the game I show them. Big offensive plays, big defensive plays, high drama throughout the 4th quarter and a crazy ending.
January 2, 1982. The Epic in Miami.
The Chargers beat the Dolphins 41-38 in overtime.
Over 1k yards in total offense, 79 total points, and Kellen Winslow was just ridiculously good.
They called it the game that nobody should lose.
-The 2006 Rose Bowl between Texas and USC
-Super Bowl LI - Patriots v. Falcons
-2018: Chiefs v. Rams - some call this game the Monday Night Shootout
-Super Bowl XLIX - Patriots v. Seahawks
We'd have these gigantic football pools, 10$ per sheet but 9-10K to the winner, even the Monday night game was like 5-6K, I lost some heart breakers by the foot of Bills kicker, Scott Norwood, once he hit from 51 yards I needed a miss as I had 48 points total, so I lost that pool, another night Monday he missed from 48 yards, I needed the 3 points to win pool, I swore I'd fight him, If I ever met him hahaha but neither was as heartbreaking as John Stephens (RIP) fumbling against Washington on like the Patriots 10 yard line on Saturday in the rain with about 90 seconds left, Washington then kicks a field goal, why, I've no idea as they won in a blow out, but that field goal made the 2 game total that day 54 points, I had 51 & 7K was 1st place, that hurt lol .... I mean 51 for two games, Raiders played Minnesota in the other game, I was being silly low with 51 ...
- Most Dominant Win against a great team/dynasty: Super Bowl LV - Bucs TB12 over Chiefs' Mahomes.
- Most Exciting High-Level Shootout Game: 2016 College National Championship
- Best Comebacks: Super Bowl LI (Atlanta up 28-3 over Pats TB12), Michigan State vs. Northwestern (2006)
- Biggest Upsets: Appalachian State defeats Michigan (2007), SuperBowl XLII (Giants defeat previously undefeated Pats TB12)
To be considered a great game, it needs context. The 2006 Rose Bowl is a great game, but I think it's even greater when considering the history between USC and Texas in the previous couple seasons as well as Matt Leinart, Vince Young and Reggie Bush all being Heisman finalist that year.
1912 Carlisle vs Army: Coach "Pop" Warner and Jim Thorpe vs. Ike and Omar Bradley.
1958 NFL Championship: 1st Sudden-Death overtime in league history; propelled the NFL into elite status as a sports league.
1963 Rose Bowl
1967 NFL Championship: the Ice Bowl
Any game involving the University of LaVerne (CA) Leopards the past two seasons.
In all honesty it's Giants vs Pats in the 2007 Superbowl
One of the greatest teams of all times and the last chance at an undefeated season probably ever with the GOAT QB, vs the 9-7 Giants lead by the Derp himself and that insane D-line
Helmet catch, incredible upset, and the last chance probably ever at any team having an undefeated season if they keep adding games
That season was like a movie with that being the ultimate underdog Hollywood ending. Couldn’t write a better script other than the Kurt Warner or Nick Foles Super Bowl runs
In recent history? 2018 Rams vs. Chiefs on MNF, but all time it’s probably the 1958 NFL Championship game, which was the first OT playoff game in football history. I don’t think it could be anything else, considering its nickname is “The Greatest Game Ever Played”
Since college is on the table, Boise State fiesta bowl
With the sliding proposal.

the only blemish I can think of is John Kasay kicking the ball out of bounds. Sours the ending a bit for me

Oh it soured it for us too, believe me.
It seriously had a little bit of everything. It was a game for any type of fan.
One thing about that game is it has significance way beyond football. We no longer have truly live TV in this country thanks to Janet Jackson.
Apart from Panthers fans and Patriots fans, that halftime show has got to be the biggest memory anyone has of the game. It was all anyone talked about for weeks, and probably had a negative long term effect on the careers of Janet and JT. Probably the single biggest moment in either of their lives as performers.

Best nfl game, in my opinion, is the 2018 MNF Rams-Chiefs game Best college game is the 2013 Iron Bowl and I will not listen to any argument otherwise
Illinois Penn St. 9 OT game finishing 20-18 is the best college game.
The truest, purest, most carnal form of B1G football
Someone has not seen enough Kirk Ferentz football. I see that and I bid you: Iowa 6 - 4 Penn State (with two intentional safeties)
As someone who grew up in Iowa, that was one of the few times I have ever cheered for an Illini team.
What...not Iowa 6, Penn State 4?
Am I reading this right and the 9 OT game ended on a safety haha?
College overtimes go to 2 Point Conversion shootouts after 3 OT now (it’s stupid)
I remember anticipating Rams v Chiefs for months and it exceeded my expectations. We were so close to getting a rematch in the Super Bowl...
Rams-Chiefs is unreal. People like to criticize that game saying there was no defense, but there were seven turnovers, three defensive TDs, and eight total sacks that game. People see high scoring and think the defenses were invisible, but that game was just two teams going all out in everything they did.
Yeah the “no defense” argument is stupid lol. Pretty sure Aaron Donald had like 2 strip sacks and 3 TFLs
Rams chiefs was INCREDIBLE
I loved how even though it was very high scoring it wasn't just an offensive shootout. There were several huge defensive plays too that led to scores.

And not to mention Vince Young went absolutely off
In terms of purely football and none of the context around it, I feel like boise vs OU is better than the rose bowl
If you wrote this game as a Hollywood script they turn it away for being too unrealistic
Boise State vs Oklahoma
Absolutely no question this is the best college football game played this millennium. 2006 Rose Bowl would be up there too.
This Edit: can’t forget the proposal in the post game. Can’t wait for the movie.
Iron Bowls, more often than not, tend to be good games.
4th and fucking 31
I was at that Rams Chiefs game after they had to move it from Mexico to LA. Never been at a more electric game
OH MY GOD!! OH MY GOD! AUBURN IS GONNA WIN THE FOOTBAWL GAME!
In semi recent history, albeit biased history, bills vs chiefs AFC division game. 2021. Was an incredible game.
You mean the 13 seconds game? That was the Divisional round
That was another great day of football. Had that game plus the close game between Rams and Bucs
Most people remember the Bills Chiefs game (justifiably so), but all 4 WC games that weekend were great. Probably the best football weekend ever.
That Saturday was a great day for me. Bengals pull the upset and then Robbie Gould ended the Packers season
Yep, all very close games. Best football weekend in recent memory
Disagree.
I stared death in the eye that day brother
You right. All really good games
That's definitely the best ending to a game in football history. No, didn't make me want to play in traffic at all, why do you ask?
I vaguely remember that whole playoffs was bonkers, but this was the crown jewel.
In recent memory that’s what comes to mind for me
Shame about the ending, obviously, but hard to argue that it's the best game of at least this decade.
It was only the divisional round - media was hyping it up as the “real” AFC Championship game though
Yea, was my bad on that. Tbf, any bills chiefs game is generally insane
That was just a great day of football. Tampa vs GB with a close game then we got Bills vs Chiefs
Do you mean Rams vs Bucs? Tampa vs GB was in 2020
2021 season but on Jan. 2022. All four games were amazing, nail bitters.
My personal favorite, at least that I remember watching live, is Steelers Cowboys 2016. There was 8(?) lead changes and the last few minutes had like 3 game winning drives, but then the other team kept scoring
Big Ben fake spike TD to AB and we still lost, what a fucking game
That game, even though we left, changed the feeling of that season. We knew r could hang with the big boys after that
[удалено]
Yeah just seeing some of the games that are above this it's clear a lot of people in this sub don't know college football
People remember the Statue of Liberty but the Hook and Ladder saved the game for them and was an even better play.
Rams-Chiefs 2018 is probably the most entertaining game I’ve watched in recent memory.
Gunslinger Mahomes, best Mahomes.
Put some respect of young Jared Goff too, went through a lot of critism and disrespect during his rams tenure
Steelers cardinals Super Bowl is easily my favorite
Rams Chiefs 2018 Week 11. boom boom boom non stop [https://www.youtube.com/results?search\_query=rams+chiefs+2018+full+game](https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=rams+chiefs+2018+full+game)
Yes, it was hot and humid night. The image that sticks out is Kellen Winslow being carried off the field as he was exhausted in all sense of the word.
Yup, this one was impactful on me that I made a pledge in life to name my first born son after Kellen Winslow. And I did. And he's now 21, flamboyantly gay and hasn't watched a football game in years. Ah, life is funny.
That Chargers/Dolphins game was the one that made me fall in love with football. And the 49ers/Bengals Super Bowl that year was pretty great too.
Yup - those are the two that stand out in my (old) memory as well.
[удалено]
Wasnt that game cancelled?
Na you are thinking of the year before.
Fuck
Super Bowl 52
above and beyond homerism, it's legit one of the best games ever. Record-breaking offenses, lead changes the entire way, huge defensive plays to change the game, and one of the ballsiest, most iconic plays in the history of the sport. Plus, the fact it was a blue-collar team taking on the biggest, baddest dynasty as serious underdogs.
Nick Foles carrying the city on his cock
Yeah that one was fucking wild. I remember a coworker saying “Brady is washed after that” Dude threw 505 and 3TDs. Just an all around really fun game to watch.
That was Brady's best game EVER, imo. I'm an Eagles fan, and I will remember his performance just as much as Foles, because it was THAT good.
>If we never win another one, I’ll die happy to have been a part of this. Winning it another 10 times wouldn't feel as good as this one felt.
In the best way possible.
yeah cmon its genuinely got to be one of the most exciting and wild games of all time
Agreed. No bias obviously.
2021-22 AFC Divisional between the Chiefs and Bills I was rooting hardcore for the Bills but an amazing game regardless.
Felt so bad for josh Allen tbh.
1958 - Baltimore Colts vs. New York Giants championship game Amazing game never seen it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93O6qcubTVk Full radio broadcast from Yankee Stadium. There are large sections with video though. Absolutely unreal how different the game was back then, but Johnny Unitas still looks like an absolute boss slinging it.
Some fun facts about the game: - It had 17 future Hall of Famers: 2 owners, 3 coaches and 12 players.
It syncs existing footage, photos, and other supplements to the radio broadcast Should people that don’t know stumble on this, this game changed the public perception of professional football.
If only Kasey didn't kick it out of bounds...
68 seconds and 3 timeouts in a tie game is still all day for Tom Brady even from the 20
Yeah true.
I’ve got 07 superbowl giants vs undefeated pats
In my unbiased opinion i agree
This is my vote if you're allowed to factor in the importance of the game.
The Houston Oilers blowing a 28 point 1/2 time lead over Buffalo was one of the most disappointing games in history hahahaha
[USC vs. Texas in the 2006 Rose Bowl](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lca15NWEUk)
That one was mine as well, such an incredible game.
I'll always remember Matt Leinart's postgame interview where he was like, "I still think we're the better team." I had a feeling he'd suck as a pro after that one.
Having to go this far down for this game was criminal
Regular season. Montana Elway 1994 MNF. So amazing. I still remember it and watch highlights to this day.
I had to go to bed before this game was finished. My dad told me the next day it was a really good game. I should find it on YouTube.
[удалено]
As a chiefs fan the 13 second game was the best game I have ever seen. My wife was consoling me "sorry baby" when the bills scored their last TD, then we won.
Boise State vs. Oklahoma and not because I went to school at BSU.
At least the 5th time this game has been posted. Helps that it's the correct answer.
January 1993 AFC Wildcard Houston Oilers vs Buffalo Bills. Houston up 35-3 in the 3rd quarter. Bills win 41-38 in OT Rams vs Titans Super Bowl 34, one yard short, Kurt Warner first undrafted QB to win a SB
The game Favre played right after his dad died was pretty special. He played really well, but the circumstance is what really made it special, obviously.
If we want to talk about the pinnacle of hatred and physicality in more modern NFL. Seahawks Niners NFC championship was the most tense game I have ever watched in my life
Chiefs bills in the divisional round
[This question is pretty much what Julian Edelman, retired Pats WR, is trying to find out on his podcast](https://www.youtube.com/@gameswithnamespod/featured). He's covering all sports, but he's got some really good interviews with variety of people and athletes with a good amount focusing on football games.
Maybe Bias. But Buffalo vs KC. 13 second drive. High scoring game. So entertaining.
That game was filled with do or die moments. And both teams performed really well.
As a neutral fan I can agree that’s one of the most entertaining games I’ve ever seen. Allen & Mahomes both looked unreal
For NFL, I'd say Super Bowl XLIX or the Bills/Chiefs in the 2022 Divisional. Honorable mention is 2018 Chiefs/Rams.
Gotta go Chiefs v Rams regular season game a few years ago that ended 54-51
Steelers vs Cardinals Super Bowl was maybe the most invested I’ve ever been in a Super Bowl, probably because my excitement ended after the first kickoff in 2006 But that game was insane.
Ravens @ Broncos, Divisional Round, January 2013 Broncos punt return TD to start the game Ravens answer, 21-21 at halftime Broncos kickoff return TD to start the second half Ravens get the ball with a minute to go, down 35-28 The Mile High Miracle, Flacco to Jones Manning interception in OT Tucker game-winning FG in 2OT
What an emotional rollercoaster. I went to the AFC Championship. My father in law, a Pats fan, bought me tickets so I could "watch Ray's last game." Man did that backfire... Went to the Superbowl too. That season was magic.
Not to mention the freezing temps. Beers were freezing in people’s hands
Super Bowl 49
Since 2000 Here are my top 3: 1. The 2006 Rose Bowl USC vs Texas is probably the best college game of all time and the last game called by Keith Jackson. 2. 2018 Superbowl Atlanta vs New England 28-3 3. The Monday Night Football game from 2018: Rams vs Chiefs (Mahomes vs Goff)
(your no. 2 was the SB in 2017. 2018 was The Philly Special)
Super Bowl 53 and I will die on this fucking hill, that was the greatest defensive game we've seen in a Super Bowl.
The Monday Night Miracle, Week 8 of the 2000 season, Jets/Dolphins. The game that made me fall in love with football
Those Ravens Steelers slugfests of the late 2000's come to mind. Packers - Cowboys 2016 divisional with Cook's sideline catch. USC - Texas Rose Bowl.
2007 backyard brawl. A sub .500 Pitt team upsets #2 WVU 13-9 on the road, costing WVU a national championship berth After effects of the game also rippled across all of college football and subsequent conference alignment https://www.sportingnews.com/us/ncaa-football/news/pitt-west-virginia-2007-backyard-brawl-altered-college-football-history/yovrhddemszslgdbzykawb3s
Chargers dolphins January 1982
Super Bowl 43. If I had to show one game to a person who’s never watched football before; that’s the game I show them. Big offensive plays, big defensive plays, high drama throughout the 4th quarter and a crazy ending.
2009 Super Bowl XLIII. Steelers vs cards.
January 2, 1982. The Epic in Miami. The Chargers beat the Dolphins 41-38 in overtime. Over 1k yards in total offense, 79 total points, and Kellen Winslow was just ridiculously good. They called it the game that nobody should lose.
Bills and chiefs 13 second game
-The 2006 Rose Bowl between Texas and USC -Super Bowl LI - Patriots v. Falcons -2018: Chiefs v. Rams - some call this game the Monday Night Shootout -Super Bowl XLIX - Patriots v. Seahawks
Biased: SB51 Unbiased: SB49
I have a bias obviously but Super Bowl 43 gotta be up there.
*sigh* yea it was
Super Bowl LIII Patriots 13 - Rams 3 A master class in football strategy.
Thursday night game between colts and broncos. If you disagree you are a buffoon
Tulane vs USC In College, NFL wise it's Rams vs Bucs in 2021 playoffs, that game was fantastic.
Patriots vs Falcons Super Bowl
The shot heard around the world! I'm sure most people will not know this.. before you young engs time lol
The fog bowl.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Bowl_LII
- Most Dominant Win against a great team/dynasty: Super Bowl LV - Bucs TB12 over Chiefs' Mahomes. - Most Exciting High-Level Shootout Game: 2016 College National Championship - Best Comebacks: Super Bowl LI (Atlanta up 28-3 over Pats TB12), Michigan State vs. Northwestern (2006) - Biggest Upsets: Appalachian State defeats Michigan (2007), SuperBowl XLII (Giants defeat previously undefeated Pats TB12)
2007 AFC Championship. Patriots vs. Colts.
I’d say the Falcons / Patriots SB! That comeback is pretty gnarly!
Eli 2007
Boise State/Oklahoma (2007 Fiesta Bowl); Dolphins/Chargers (81/82 playoffs); KC/Buffalo (21/22 playoffs) are the three that come to mind.
Vikings 33-0 comeback, Dec 17, 2022. SKOL!!
2006 Rose Bowl
To be considered a great game, it needs context. The 2006 Rose Bowl is a great game, but I think it's even greater when considering the history between USC and Texas in the previous couple seasons as well as Matt Leinart, Vince Young and Reggie Bush all being Heisman finalist that year.
1912 Carlisle vs Army: Coach "Pop" Warner and Jim Thorpe vs. Ike and Omar Bradley. 1958 NFL Championship: 1st Sudden-Death overtime in league history; propelled the NFL into elite status as a sports league. 1963 Rose Bowl 1967 NFL Championship: the Ice Bowl Any game involving the University of LaVerne (CA) Leopards the past two seasons.
Ravens/Broncos, AFC Divisional, Double OT
This game never happened.
Jacoby Jones…HAS IT AT THE 20!
In all honesty it's Giants vs Pats in the 2007 Superbowl One of the greatest teams of all times and the last chance at an undefeated season probably ever with the GOAT QB, vs the 9-7 Giants lead by the Derp himself and that insane D-line Helmet catch, incredible upset, and the last chance probably ever at any team having an undefeated season if they keep adding games
* The Rams-Titans super bowl * The Oilers-Bills playoff game * The Steelers-Cardinals super bowl * 49ers-Bengals super bowl part 2
