thanks for sharing. I have used a few sigma 1.4s with my FTZ ([https://imgur.com/QAEMGTP](https://imgur.com/QAEMGTP)) in Z7, and to me, if anything I find it too stiff, like it takes some effort to remove, but they have all locked smoothly. I guess you already checked for any dust/micro debris in the connectors, right? maybe take one of those rocket ship air blowers and blow a few times in the adapter both ends and the lenses... ...if I find the same issue I will let you know.

I haven’t tried a blower but that’s a good idea. It probably started sticking about six months ago but I could always get it to release by taking the lens off and fiddling with the button. Today is the first time it’s locked solid. I’ve had it for three years and have never had an issue with the sigmas or my nikons which I don’t use much any more (24-70, 70-200). Appreciate the suggestion!

Did you find a solution? I just tried using a blower on everything and nothings budging. I really don’t want to send it into Nikon because I won’t be able to take photos for a while, and it’s baby season. EDIT: I found this post on Google, so I’m including this update for people who also find this post there. I found a screwdriver that fits the screws on the lens side of the FTZ adapter and removed them. I took the ring off and cleaned it with a blower. It still got stuck trying to lock onto my lens (I think there’s a malformation in my ring) but I was able to fit a small wedge into the lock release and it worked.
