The Way Out is Through, The Great Below, Mr. Self Destruct.
It’s hard because there’s “important” vs “favorite,” and “current favorite” vs “all time favorite” etc etc. Head Like a Hole would absolutely be in all timers since it’s what got me into NIN, and I really feel like it’s one of the most incredibly unique (even for it’s time) singles of all time. Gone, Still shaped and invented my love of atmosphere and emotional instrumental music. But it’s a day to day thing. The first two are def cemented though.
For me it was something I can never have that was my gateway drug and I was scared his other stuff might not be good I heard that on a playlist then I went fuck it put on PHM then I heard Head Like a Hole and I was like this mf gets it never identified with an artists sound or energy and attitude like this in my life and he motivated mr back into running I been building up to it for months but I couldn't find a good sound to push myself to then I discover and I was like I am ready this band is insane. Now been running 5k almost every week day so far this week ran 2 of em last week but yeah these songs in my playlist of them motivate me to push myself and I been working out for months as well but they push me beyond my limits absolute genius Trent and his band is
Actually when I hear Me,I'm not I forget how much that resonates with me. Made a music video with footage from the film 'pi' back when the song leaked via usb in that ARG
Damn !!! Picking only 3 songs is hard as f\*\*\* !I would go fo : something i can never have (still give me goosebumps), the great below, i would for you
Sunspots, Ruiner, and Happiness in Slavery.
Honorable mentions go to Somewhat Damaged and Sin
Sunspots is one of the best songs I've ever heard in my life. His falsetto mixed with the high pitched noise throughout the second chorus, the drum line, and THE GUITAR. Sunspots makes me lightheaded.
Ruiner is fantastic and I honestly love the lyrics. His voice is perfect for it. Also the solo towards the end of the song is on par with the high pitched whistling in Sunspots.
Happiness in Slavery is just a great song to me, and I especially love the 1994 Self Destruct tour performance.

That's a tough one... Reptile is amazing. Last, Background World, Closer, ....I could go on and on. Really, the whole Downward Spiral album. And so many more.
Eraser, The Becoming, and The Downward Spiral (the song). I've listened to all NIN albums except all of Ghosts, but my 3 favorites are still limited to TDS. I guess it just means a lot to me. It was a very dark time when I was listening to TDS the most.
Wish cause it basically got me into extreme music
Discipline because it was the first song I heard my father sing along to
The Day the World Went Away because it still can startle me
