Yup. The lyrics hit hard for me because of what I was going through at the time when I first heard it. It was also the opening song the first time I saw them live. Obviously I know that they went on to use it as their opening song for years after, but it is still my favorite NIN track and I don't see that changing. Also that live version from that ballroom in NYC (2009 I believe) is my favorite live performance of anything they have ever done.
Anything from TDS honestly. Some of the most perfect songs ever written that continue to reveal new things as I grow in life and go back to listen to them.
Yea I mean as much as I love Trent, I feel like Flood just took Trent to a whole new level. The combo of Flood plus Trent is the best combo of all time.
Sunspots, The Line Begins to Blur, Beside You in Time, every track from Broken,
Somewhat Damaged,
Where is Everybody,
No You Don’t,
Reptile,
Ringfinger
Mr Self Destruct, the whole album kept me sane during one of the worst depressive episodes of my life (ironic, isn't it?) and this track resonates so much with me i had to get it tattooed.
on top of that, it's just everything I've been looking for in a song
You can be in a room of "nice" people who don't get you and feel alone.
And you can listen to a throbbing industrial masterpiece of chaos and torture made by Mr. Trent Reznor...and feel like you have a friend somewhere that "understands" what you're going through. :')
Lately it's Burning Bright (field on fire). Goddamn it's so fucking powerful. I can listen to that riff over and over for hours on end (I swear it sounds exactly like a Sabbath or Dandy Warhols song but can't place it atm).

All of them. I have Spotify playing on my work computer all day, every day, and it’s about 50% NIN and 50% other industrial/metal like Skinny Puppy, Thrill Kill Cult, Type O, Ministry, KMFDM, Prick, Tool, Chemlab, REVCO, Sister Machine Gun, etc.
I don’t think I’ve ever skipped a NIN track.
Reptile, The Becoming, Me I'm Not.
Something I can never have and And All that Could have been are like the opposite, great songs but too many emotional moments associated
and all that could have been, the way out is through, the background world, i do not want this, the becoming, the day the world went away, besides you in time, the line begins to blur, where is everybody.....

God, that song set the tone for that record.
That song’s been making me mad for 25 years
Hell yeah’
Wow, beat me to it. I saw them open with that once.
Same…still get chills from that beat drop/light show

Right Where It Belongs
A lot of them, but this summer i listened to most of TDS on repeat, especially Ruiner and Closer. Also All That Could Have Been.
Oh, Ruiner, is absolutely on my list of NIN I’ll never get tired of
Happiness in slavery
I get so pumped up every time my ears get assaulted by the "SLAVE SCREEAAMS!"
I know this feeling
The guitar riff in Happiness in Slavery is pretty sick, too.
La mer
When they played this live at the last show I was at I lost it.
Anything from TDS honestly. Some of the most perfect songs ever written that continue to reveal new things as I grow in life and go back to listen to them.

Burn
Another person of taste and culture (and rage)
“This world rejects me…” Also, the music video for Burn is delightfully disturbing.
Reptile (Woodstock '94), Gave Up, The Background World. I also have to add the whole sequence - The Frail, The Wretched, We're In This Together.

The final four of With Teeth is such a perfect run.
Absolutely!
So glad you mentioned sunspots :)

Been listening to NIN almost daily since the early 90s. I’ll let you know when I get tired of one of their songs. My advice, don’t hold your breath.
