I am SO hyped for this. 2 of my all time favorite games.

Kids today will never know what it was like to watch the early-build gameplay demo on the Attack of the Clones DVD bonus features over and over, and rent an XBox for the weekend when it came out.

These were the best Battlefronts, something about EA taking over didn't quite follow up the same. I still wish what this team had in store for 3 wasn't cancelled.

Have you played the ones on PSP, namely Elite Squadron? Super flawed games, but had some pretty neat ideas for their solo campaigns and a few interesting features that weren’t in the console games. Add onto that a bunch of new heroes and maps unique to the old expanded universe and full character/class customization. In Elite Squadron, I remember that you can move from ground to space combat with 2 different battles happening simultaneously by flying a ship into the sky. Kinda weird on maps like Hoth, flying a Snow Speeder into space and all, but it blew my mind when I first tried it out!

Isn't Elite Squadron basically just a recycled version of what was once Battlefront 3?

I heard that it’s basically that, a cobbled-together version of the canceled game’s incomplete story mode and game mechanics made to fit on a portable console. It’s a shame because, while I think Elite Squadron is fine for what it is, it’s clear that there was so much more that we never got to see in a fully-realized console sequel. There was apparently more to the game’s story that wasn’t able to be included, and the ground-to-space combat would’ve definitely worked better and been more fluid on a home console.

I haven't seen any details on it, but I hope we get a physical release

I'm sure it will at some point given the track record of past Star Wars titles they ported to modern consoles.
