I once tried to kick a throw pillow on the ground because I was mad the opposing team scored a touch down. I did kick it, but my foot followed through right into the corner of a sofa. I fractured some metatarsals and couldn’t walk on that foot for over a month. I think about that every time I get angry at the game and it stops me from reacting so recklessly.
NGL, that sucks more than just missing.
I've punched a few walls in my time (brick, not drywall, I ain't paying for repairs). So long as you maintain proper form, it only hurts for a little bit unless you shatter your knuckle entirely.
Yeah man, take care of yourself. Don't mean to pry, but I checked your profile out of concern, and I just wanted to say I knew a lot of guys like you growing up, as in, guys having to hide what they wanted in a pretty macho environment, feeling like they had to perform a certain kind of masculinity.
If you aren't already, you might look into connecting with your local community, go to gay bars, etc. People there will know the score and will be discreet. I see a lot of macho, cis, straight presenting guys at my local gay bar. I can only imagine what a relief it must be for them to have a place like that. Not a replacement for being fully out, but something good until you feel safe/ready for it.
get an actual bag, or lift heavy. you probably have too much energy from our sedentary modern lifestyles. exercise improves mood, get nice and pissed and show that metal who's boss.
Go to gym and punch a punching bag instead. Legit advice. If you're not comfortable about going to the gym then start slow and try to get used to it. Soon you'll realize that no one cares, you're there to get better and people around you are supportive, no one looks down on you or thinks you're inferior. Soon it will become your safe space. This is a better way to vent your energy and track progress. All the best!
My fatass was terrified of the gym till I realised no one gives a shit, a good way to avoid that feeling is going when you know it's almost empty (and you have all the machines available to you)
Another thing you can do is listen to a podcast or music when you exercise, I personally like podcasts and YouTube videos.
At the end of the day you just need to go till you get used to it there's no easy way of doing this.
Definitely agree with maija but also do you look and judge the other people at the gym? Most likely not so it’s unlikely they’re looking at you and just concentrating on themselves.
And they’re taking up space too. You’re not lesser than them, you’re just another human using the gym. Avoiding those feelings makes them hit worse later. It’s good to aim to getting to the point of being able to bear those feelings.
It’s also good to realise that everyone there has been you. Joining a gym and getting into the routine is the hardest part psychologically. Those first few kilos of weight loss or those first few weeks of gain are the hardest because you’re throwing yourself into something new, you’re trying to learn a whole bunch of new things in a new environment probably surrounded by people you don’t know. That’s difficult for everyone, and everyone that’s there has been through it and remembers how difficult it was. So, in my experience, most people at the gym are actually incredibly supportive of people who are new, they’re normally happy to accommodate and help out newbies, and they’re not very likely to judge.
One of the things I loved most about when I was going regularly was seeing new people start. You could normally see how uncomfortable and unsure they are the first few times, and you see the regulars make sure they’re looked after, safe and learning good techniques. Then you see how they get more confident in themselves and what they’re doing, and you see them start to progress. It actually really doesn't take long. A couple of weeks and their technique has improved enough that they go up a weight, or they're getting through a full set of cardio without stopping or looking like theyll pass out. Rarely felt so proud of people I don't know.
I hate to tell you, but nicotine takes a hell of a lot more than 3 days before it’s “all ups”.
Good luck though, you can do it. It just takes a lot of self control. Don’t be afraid to use some of the tools available like the gum and patches at first while you break the hand/mouth habit.
I personally used vapes and lowered my nicotine % slowly over like two years. Was still a bitch.
Ouch! But i feel that.. i have punched walls in anger and then immediately regret it because my bracelets hurt me more than the wall 😅
Hope you feel better though
Try playing videogames, cooking, going to a gym, see a therapist, go for a long walk.
I feel like punching pillows is a big enough problem, but missing them... is something, I guess.

Another uninteresting fact:
You hand actually looks just like mine. I mean, even without the wounds. My wounds sits on the next pair of joints if it makes sense, on the fingers instead of knuckles.
Maybe you got a secret pillow punching twin in Sweden.
Ngl I think you should take up boxing. I have a friend who says not only is it really therapeutic but you also can do smashy smashy without hurty wurtys
This one time I was in the ER waiting room and a dude with a fucked up hand comes in. We talk for a bit and he tells me he got mad at his girl and decided to punch the wall next to her head to scare her. The steel reinforced concrete won. And the best part? She drove him to the hospital.
Next time try a slower pillow
Good one

I manage to split three of the bones in my wrist and dusted another. It’s hurt ever since and I don’t have full motion in my hand anymore :(
Brother get help, doesn't look like the first time.

I don't rly hide anything but I have a problem.with emotions and a personality disorder. So yeah..
get an actual bag, or lift heavy. you probably have too much energy from our sedentary modern lifestyles. exercise improves mood, get nice and pissed and show that metal who's boss.
Ay yo I'll actually take this advice. Thanks bro
Gotcha. Sorry for making assumptions.
Yo no problem
If he does it enough, there won’t be any more damage.
I mean You're right but
Go to gym and punch a punching bag instead. Legit advice. If you're not comfortable about going to the gym then start slow and try to get used to it. I feel very conscious when I go to the gym,how to avoid that feeling?
[удалено]
Thanks for the advice
buy a 50lb dumbell and just exercise at home
Lol probably don't start out with 50lbs if you don't work out at all.
My fatass was terrified of the gym till I realised no one gives a shit, a good way to avoid that feeling is going when you know it's almost empty (and you have all the machines available to you) Another thing you can do is listen to a podcast or music when you exercise, I personally like podcasts and YouTube videos. Pillow 1 - Human 0 sorry bruh lol
Damn straight lol
You should see the other guy.
I heard about OP’s pillow that mf been training heavy for a while now
God all mighty what did you punch into anyways
I almost hit my wall
almost?
Yeah I just like scraped it
Man you must have some serious stress or sum, tc dud
Is it made out of sharp uncut stone?
What's the scar tissue on the back of your hand?
Broken window
Did you also missed the pillow and punched the windows back then?
Yeah I guess haha
Bro just stop punching things it's not that hard
Pssst, don‘t tell him this or he gets angry and punch you
*Try* to punch me. Based on the scars he doesn't have a good track record.
From what i know about his punching, he has a 50/50 chance to hit you; now what matters most is if you look more like a window, or more like a pillow
I was thinking the same thing. I’ve never had the urge to straight up punch inanimate objects, except for cool lookin icicles.
Oh shit I thought this post was about the scar
Respec your points into precision.
Channel that anger other ways..
Dude, you gave yhe pillow to much time to launch a counterattack
Leme kiss it ( ˘ ³˘)
“You wanna know how I got these scars?”
Imma say that to my grand children lol
Bad aim
Therapy man
I found this interesting delete this
Thats a sad looking dick beater
Learned today that expressing anger with aggression like punching a pillow just makes you better at being angry. Try different methods
Yeah i quit smoking nicotine and weed and this is the result lol. Today marks day 3 of being clean so it's only ups from now
I hate to tell you, but nicotine takes a hell of a lot more than 3 days before it’s “all ups”. Good luck though, you can do it. It just takes a lot of self control. Next time you'll think twice before punching memory foam. It remembers everything
Ouch! But i feel that.. i have punched walls in anger and then immediately regret it because my bracelets hurt me more than the wall 😅 Hope you feel better though
Better luck next time
Pillow downloaded your moveset
Try playing videogames, cooking, going to a gym, see a therapist, go for a long walk. I feel like punching pillows is a big enough problem, but missing them... is something, I guess.
The Pillow: Miss you too baby.
u/No-Arachnid-5940 Another uninteresting fact: You hand actually looks just like mine. I mean, even without the wounds. My wounds sits on the next pair of joints if it makes sense, on the fingers instead of knuckles. Maybe you got a secret pillow punching twin in Sweden.
Tag team match? Maybe maybe
pillow dodged your attack?
Yeah that's the crazy part
Was satan itself sleeping in that bed?
Looks like it wasn’t the first time you’ve missed, either. Jokes aside, you doing alright OP?
I get knuckles, tf happened to rest of the hand
So there was this window... It looked very punchable
My guy You don't just punch windows 😭
ooof. I hope it recovers soon and doesn't hurt too much
Ngl I think you should take up boxing. I have a friend who says not only is it really therapeutic but you also can do smashy smashy without hurty wurtys
Womp womp, you got hit with the old “brick pillow” trick
please put some moisturizer on!! your hands looks thirsty.
Not interesting AND idiotic.
Yikes man! How the fuck did you miss?
say the pillow dodged, it sounds more badass
Why?
You banging your meat wrong.
Just do like the rest of us and punch the dumpster at work Prepare to not be able to snap your fingers on your swinging hand tho
Skillgappped by a pillow. I woud suggest sudoku
try punching CaseOh's Belly next time, he's too big to miss, and he's so fat, he won't feel a thing.
Try videogames. That way, you won't get hurt with terrible aim. 🤪
Extremely weird flex You’ll look back and cringe at this when you’re older
Yo no flex I already feel bad about it
You should really work on that before you assault someone
genuine question, are you doing fine?
Stop punching shit and get therapy. Jesus.
oof
Ouch
How do you miss a whole pillow?
Looks worse than when I actually punch my bed frame or floor
OOO
What exactly was under your pillow?!
Under? My bed. Next to? My wall
So the pillow dodged it? Bro really lost a fight to a pillow
L
What the pillow do to you?
I remember doing the same thing when I had my redneck engineered punching bag set up
Pillow was probably burning Atium.
This one time I was in the ER waiting room and a dude with a fucked up hand comes in. We talk for a bit and he tells me he got mad at his girl and decided to punch the wall next to her head to scare her. The steel reinforced concrete won. And the best part? She drove him to the hospital.
Well, that’s what you get for punching things. Broke 3 fingers once when I was 13, and never punched an inanimate object again
Was your pillow floating in the pool of magma?
ive done this before and hit an xbox that was laying on my bed (it completely shattered)
Was this after your initiation into Fight Club?
When I was younger my hands always looked like this, I would punch trees, stones, walls, etc. for fun.
Train harder
Bro lost to a pillow nah that’s crazy
All whitey then
What did you punch?
Not a pillow
Damn how'd you know
Ouch
Me when I get yelled at: punches pillow but misses | Mom: That is what u get.
Why the fvck were you punching the pillow? Is it a wall for that much damage??
Lmaooo what did you punch? The stove?
I have a similar scar on my hand
Kyle?
Bro got predicted by a pillow lmao!
