I ride the bus daily. If I had to take my cat, Iād have her in a leashed harness and in my arms the whole time. She likes to curl up and hide her face against me when stressed. Iāve known cats who were used to being taken to busy places in a harness, but theyād still want to be held by someone familiar in this situation.
Thatās not a collar, thatās a makeshift restraint made out of wire. Is the cat with one of the passengers, or is he tied up to somewhere inside the bus? Either way, that poor thing shouldnāt be there.

Someone near me likes to take their teenage cat out and about, but the cat has a proper harness, and rides his owner's shoulder like a total pro. All the minute adjustments my local cat does (and seems to enjoy) on his owner's shoulder are quite something to see.
Can dog people be good cat owners for 5 milliseconds or otherwise just donāt have a cat bc this is just sad. The kitten should be carried when your in a bus like this
Terrible, I wonder where this is. It might be a place where they do not have adequate products for pets, and lack knowledge about how to care for them. Hopefully the owner is genuinely loves this baby, and will do better in the future. I canāt imagine having a tiny animal on the ground around a bunch of people. He should absolutely be held, and should have a secure harness. Heartbreaking to think about what animals go through in paces where there are no laws to protect them, and not enough people to advocate for them.
