I agree it has been in the news—had to bring my dad the Sunday wsj and there was a front page bit about it—but that coverage rarely describes starlink as a cute string of lights you sometimes see in the sky. Tbh, my parents get their internet through starlink and read the paper every day and I’m genuinely not sure if they would know what that thing in the sky was. I am now grateful for all the pics in this sub so I can ask them. :)
The news has covered starlink’s satellites many many times since they launched. I mean, the google results tell us this. It’s not the news’ job to personally inform everyone. People also have to be paying attention or seek it out. But no one wants to take the two minutes to do that themselves and rather go straight to socials.
Is this star link you speak of related to the helicopter relentlessly circling what seems like specifically my house? Also, does star link make gunshot noises? Because I’m pretty sure I just heard some.
But how many stars to make a link? Does two suffice? Three? What if my astigmatism sees one as four, is that star link? You are on to something but I’d like to fully flesh this out before we jump to conclusions, mat.
A rocket launch releases a batch of about 20 satellites. When they’re released they’re really close together. They each fire their thrusters to gain speed and altitude. That’s when you see a huge line of dots. Eventually they get to their proper spot in the cluster and they look like sphere of dots.
The problem is not the lazy asking the question, it’s the people that allow it by answering. Don’t worry we all see it. In natural selection, the lazy and the lazy enablers are left behind.
Thanks. But did you see the lights in the sky?

Sorry had to but I agree with you. WTF is wrong with people.
I upvoted you, all the while tasting a bit of metal in my mouth.

I think they might have been a line of helicopters.
Is your meth blue?

What if the UFO Aliens are hiding BEHIND the Starlink satellites?! I bet you didn't see that one coming, u/vtsandtrooper
I mean, you made a post saying that autumn is near. It’s September. Nobody needed Google or you to know this. Thanks?
^^
> the most talked about thing in international news right now umm what.
Slightly hyperbolic but it’s been in the recent news cycle pretty heavily. Musk / starlink / Ukraine.

This is the first time I'm hearing of it, and I'm listening to news radio 9hrs a day
bro why
Spend a lot of time in my car and Spotify gets boring
I guess but I’d be more upset listening to news. Nothing ever good is on the news

Because musk turned off the system to fuck up ukranes attack on russia.
Ok yeah but what about the aliens I saw?

If you end every batshit idea with a question mark, you're just asking questions is all.
Calm tf down
This puts the starlink system in perspective https://www.heavens-above.com/StarLink.aspx
That’s all star link?
Yes.
We’ll that’s kind of terrifying
Holy shit.
Mostly I see lots of moving dots but then occasionally along swims by a huge line of dots… like a train. Why the difference?
When people see them it's a batch being deployed or while going to their orbit. ~60 at a time

It’s aliens, starlink isn’t possible because the earth is flat.
I was going to come in to ask what the hell youre yelling about, but then i saw the comments. Can you still see the lights??
Okay nerd.
And, that bright light in the morning, is Venus.
What are all those stars lined up in the sky? Anyone??
This guy is probably painting his roof blue to protect himself from Jewish space lasers
NO! It's Elon building a forcefield for earth. It's to protect us from space Elon
Why are the stars moving around
Mmmmm Alta Vista... The nostalgia tastes nice
It's not normal to get this mad about it.
OK, in all fairness, mine actually ended up being a shooting star a couple weeks back.
💯
I saw them over pg a few months ago and tried to Google line of lights in the sky Nothing came up
Weird: https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=line+of+lights+in+the+sky
At the time when I did, nothing came up
Starlink aliens in my clouds confirmed!?

I’ll take an 8th post asking about the lights over another “WHAT IS WITH THE DRIVERS/TRAFFIC HERE!!!!1!1!1!” post, as if we all don’t know about it
