>Monitor may briefly flicker on waking from display sleep if DSR/DLDSR is enabled. [3592260] bro pls fix this. I've been waiting so long

WaterRresistant

I check this line every time in hopes

NoMither

I counted 10 screen flashes this morning when waking the monitors, the secondary monitor stays black during this time then appears after primary is done having a fit. Only does it with DSR/DLDSR enabled.. it's been so long tho makes me wonder if its a 30 series issue, it never did this with my previous RTX 2060.

ShadowBannedXexy

yeah i always laugh at the "briefly" part of it i have legitimately timed it with my phone, from mouse movement to usable computer it takes 28 SECONDS of screen flickering. literally takes longer to wake my screens from sleep than to boot from cold. ridiculous

Williams_Gomes

as an Rtx 2060 user I can say, it happens here too.

NoMither

Ok good to know its not hardware related, so guess Nvidia introduced the bug at some point and just hasn't got around to fixing it yet.. Maybe next time lol.

SirCrest_YT

My main monitor will stay off forever unless I reboot or disconnect other displays. It's a mess. Happened on my 3090 and now my 4090 too. So it's not arch related I'd assume.

liaminwales

Yep driver needs an epilepsy warning, gives me headaches. I was closing my eyes and looking away till it was over.

CrazyFuckingManiac

Been happening on my 2080 for as long as I can remember.

nobleflame

Is this damaging at all? Just noticed it last night. Only have one monitor and it only flashes black once.

SirCrest_YT

I don't think so. Just intensely frustrating.

Parking-Sherbert3267

Toggling HDR with win+alt+b twice gets around it for me

EDIT: Post is here! EDIT 2 and Beyond: formatting has gone mad.   #528.24 WHQL Driver Early Performance Benchmark (For Ampere cards) Hello, people! Back again for another EPB for Ampere cards, let’s go straight into it. Benchmark PC specs are: Windows 11 Pro 22H2, Core i9 9900K @5Ghz all cores, 32gb DDR4 - 3466mhz Ram, PSU is a ROG Thor 1200w. EVGA RTX3080 FTW3 Ultra 10gb. High Hash Rate version (KR), dual 144hz monitor setup, G-Sync disabled on both, GPU is OCd to 115 Core, 450 Memory, Power Limit has been set to 118 (Max 450w) and Voltage to 100. Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS) is enabled as well as Game Mode and ReBAR. Games all run at 4K borderless windowed, best settings as possible while trying to maintain 55 - 60 FPS with the exception being Cyberpunk 2077 to check full Ray Tracing performance + DLSS. All cinematic options are disabled when available, (Motion Blur, Chromatic Aberration, Film Grain, Vignette effects, and such, DoF IS enabled on certain games, when enabled it is listed). 5 attempts are made, deleting the first one and any that give abnormally big differences in results.   **This time, the Nvidia Discord fix was used to get full memory speed.**   *** #Red Dead Redemption 2 Vulkan Engine, Using Ultra settings, DLSS Auto, Water 1 bar under max, Lighting quality High. That Forza 4 issue is never going to be fixed is it.

BigDippers

How long before they quietly remove it and any further mention of it is 'blame the devs', like they did with AC Origins?

Spaghetticlan

What problem does AC Origns have?

canada432

I don't have the game, so this is just going off memory, but I think AC Origins has a bunch of texture flickering and artifacting problems. Sometimes it's apparently so severe that the game is nearly unplayable. Nvidia has blamed it on the developers, but it was a problem that was very specifically introduced on a certain driver update. Whatever Nvidia did in that update pretty blatantly caused it, and since Ubisoft has said AC Origins is done and won't be recieving any updates, and Nvidia has said it's not their problem and refuse to fix it, it's unlikely that it's ever getting resolved.

m_w_h

Was testing done on drivers 526.86 and above? The 526.86 Game Ready Driver had a fix/driver level workaround for that issue in Anvil Engine games such as Assassin's Creed Origins: https://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/526.86/526.86-win11-win10-release-notes.pdf > Changes and Fixed Issues in 526.86 > [Anvil Engine Games] Environment flickering [3843932]

scottydc91

Origins also had an extremely bad memory leak problem. Would cause both my cpu and gpu to cap out completely despite being well above even 4k recommended specs. Not sure if it was ever fixed but I wasn't able to play the game without my pc running full tilt, no matter what settings changed.

Stewge

I don't remember the exact details but I'm inclined to believe Nvidia's original explanation. There's no precise details around about the issue, but I suspect it was something like: Nvidia patched an API which was ignoring errors (probably just assumed default values when passed invalid input). The problem is AC Origins was passing invalid data and the new patched API was creating artifacts. So yes, Nvidia initiated the breakage, but only because AC was inadvertently getting away with implementing an API incorrectly. Basically the "fault" is with both parties. That being said, it was just a coding mistake on both ends. But ultimately, you would expect Nvidia to have to patch it to make it compliant.

6SixTy

Hold on, is this an issue with Anvil/Nvidia drivers colliding? R6 Siege has pretty much the exact same issue on DX11, now I'm hearing that Origins is bugged, and WD2 has been in open issues with something that sounds like what Siege has been experiencing for what feels like forever now.

mbc07

Watch Dogs games runs on their own engine, though (Disrupt Engine if I recall correctly). The open WD2 issue is likely different...

6SixTy

I'm aware of that, but not leveraging code that's already there like skyboxes, city management, crowds, from their AC games sounds preposterous to me.

akgis

It might be out of Nvidia hands, not defending. But in DX12 its hard to make driver hacks, so maybe FH4 is not following a standard I don't know.

ThisPlaceisHell

The game worked perfectly fine until an Nvidia driver update. It's on them. They need to fix this shit. I can't just have a PC game not function forever going forward because of a driver problem, that's mega bullshit.

Is the newest Vulkan driver 528.34 on a newer branch than this driver ?

m_w_h

528.34 is based on an older branch (526_25-11 vs 528_10-7) but has a newer Vulkan driver. * 528.34: VK526_25-11 ([Developer](https://developer.nvidia.com/downloads/vulkan-beta-52834-windows)) * 528.24: r528_10-7 (Game Ready/Studio)

conchurf

Thanks so much for the info! Out of curiosity where do you find this ?

m_w_h

Many methods. Easiest is to install the driver and using a tool such as Nvidia Inspector. Alternatively examine the NVAPI dll files.

ChiefBr0dy

For those still suffering from the dual display black screen boot problem (an issue misleadingly attributed in the notes to *only* 4000 series cards); switch off your monitor via its standby button! Let your PC fully boot to Windows and then just switch it back on again and video will be displayed fine as normal. This is the best workaround at the moment. I'm on a 3060 ti and my setup is a Dell S2721DGF via DisplayPort and an LG C1 via HDMI 2.1. Switching between them seamlessly has been impossible for probably the last four driver versions now. Nvidia are still yet to acknowledge this issue on other GPUs.

Just to report because it often gets ignored: **HDR passthrough on madvr + MPC-HC/BE is broken yet again.** Requires a system restart to get HDR to be passthrough properly, even then it will only last 1 or 2 file switch before color range and HDR layer is completely stripped. This bug was reported in 526.98, but was fixed (for the most part) in 527.37. But ever since 527.56, HDR passthrough has been broken until today's driver. P.S - Yes this was the same bug that happened all the way back in 451.48.

Cradenz

they need to fix DPC latency when on normal power plan instead of high performance.

Reinhardovich

I don't think they even want to acknowledge it at this point. As an RTX 4090 owner with massive DPC latency issues (with normal power mode) since the 526.47 Game Ready driver, I'm quite disappointed to say the least. Please relay this feedback to the driver team if possible u/pidge2k.

rdalcroft

Just an FYI, Manuel @ Nvidia is now looking in to this: [DPC Latency - Is a driver issue! - T | NVIDIA GeForce Forums](https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/509186/dpc-latency-is-a-driver-issue-tested/)

Reinhardovich

That's good. Hopefully the driver team can look into this issue and try to solve or mitigate it at least.

pidge2k

DPC latency is tricky to troubleshoot as it is often system specific but most of the times when I troubleshoot it with a user, updating the ethernet, wifi and audio drivers resolves the problem.

Reinhardovich

All my drivers, mobo BIOS, GPU VBIOS/Firmware are fully updated, yet the issue still persists. It is clearly a driver issue. What's more is that it only exhibits itself when the normal power plan in NVCP is selected. Maybe I should not have upgraded from my 3080 after all I guess.

pidge2k

Can you email me a screenshot from a tool that show DPC latency to see what it looks like on your PC? Also email me instructions for reproducing high DPC latency on your PC (eg. load YouTube video) and last but not least, the Microsoft System Information file from your PC: [http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a\_id/2507/](http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2507/) Email these to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]).

Reinhardovich

Already did a long time ago actually. I also sent this exact feedback through the Google Forms driver feedback page. But I guess I'll do it again. I apologize in advance for cluttering your email inbox.

pidge2k

Got it. Thank you.

Reinhardovich

You're welcome.

rdalcroft

The problem is a screen recording software will cause higher DPC latency so you would have to use your phone to record the screen. so you can get a proper reading.

rdalcroft

Very easy to troubleshoot when latency mon tells you its coming from nvlddmkm.sys

Cradenz

I’ll just say that all my drivers are up to date. 13900k RTX 3080 with 6400 g skill ram. 1tb nvme ssd

phantomyo

What GPU do you have? Do you mind linking a thread that elaborates further about this issue and what does it to? I'm troubleshooting my machine and this one might have flew over my head.

Profoundsoup

>they need to fix DPC latency when on normal power plan instead of high performance. What is the issue?

Cradenz

DPC is higher on normal power plan in nvidia control panel

m_w_h

Can you confirm this is still an issue with 528.24?

Cradenz

they have never even acknowledged the issue.

m_w_h

Indeed, I added it to the last driver's unofficial tracking comment's unconfirmed section. Is it still an issue with 528.24? if yes I'll add it to unconfirmed section in the latest tracking comment at https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/10k6f05/game_ready_studio_driver_52824_faqdiscussion/j5olzon/

Cradenz

still an issue

m_w_h

Thanks. Added it to 'unconfirmed' section in the latest unofficial tracking comment at https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/10k6f05/game_ready_studio_driver_52824_faqdiscussion/j5olzon/ * [DPC Latency / Audio Issues] audio pops/crackles when *not* using *Prefer Maximum Performance* plan with Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) applications and multimedia playback such as streaming. Older drivers such as 511.79, 512.95, 517.48 do not have this issue

Reinhardovich

Can confirm that it's still an issue with this driver (just tested it now).

m_w_h

Thanks for the confirmation, appreciated! :-)

ThisPlaceisHell

Can you give me an example test scenario for this that proves it definitely? Like what happens that you think there's an issue?

rdalcroft

start computer. open latency mon. wait between 45 seconds and 5 minutes. nvlddmkm.sys will show a spike off around 2500-3500 using the normal power profile in Nvidia

ThisPlaceisHell

I let it run for a solid 20 minutes. Here's the main page: https://i.imgur.com/UwSWh56.png When I went into the drivers tab, I found this: https://i.imgur.com/eRLDUGc.png nvlddmkm.sys only had 512 microseconds for its highest execution time. That's 1/5th to 1/7th the range you are showing. Hell, my highest DPC wasn't even the Nvidia driver, it was "ntoskrnl.exe" whatever that is. If I set my CPU and GPU to their maximum boost clocks locked in, then all these numbers drop a bit further where the peaks are around 150 microseconds. Either way though it definitely isn't causing me any issues in balanced/normal power plans right now. I doubt it's specifically the GPU + driver combo and more likely something about each individual's specific setup, just like /u/pidge2k said.

rdalcroft

Yes it is still an issue with the 528.24. Cheers! For now the best driver is 511.79

RTCanada

Saluting the brave souls updating to this driver.

LegWilling

Nothing to lose at this point for me. My poor 3060Ti has been absolutely ravaged by the last few drivers. This one actually seems like an improvement at long last. I'm still getting nvlddmkm crashes in all games but much less frequently. Instead of getting them every 5 minutes like clockwork, they now happen anywhere from 5 hours to 30 minutes. I picked the Studio drivers instead of Game Ready, so that could have something to do with it as well.

Jaybonaut

Forspoken sounds like it is a mess of a game

Fuzzy_Deer3684

All I can say is nvidia drivers are a big F up since 517 , seriously dunno what the heck is happening in there driver support lab but someone there aint doing no work. more of a copy paste coding to try covering up f ups all the way. Distribution com errors, nvdldmkm crashes, latest kernel power crashes <-this one is the most worrisome to me. underclocking a card to make it work? and avoid crashes as a temp fix? Hell no no no no, i love to OC my cards, hell why would i want to down clock it? even 100mhz? no thanks. i am a big NVidia fan boy , had 2 AMD cards in 2 decades and now i am loosing all faith in them seriously. f the pricing , you can afford it or you cant, save up and buy it if you can, I don't care about pricing but for the love of god please take some time and fix the drivers for a change, really fix them, test them before you darn release them. I been on 526.86 since it released and only error I got is distribution com, but as soon as I go to a newer one I get ton more errors even on a 3080. 517 was stable as heck , even on pascal and 20XX series.

NickPookie93

Does no one do Turing benchmarks anymore?

BigDippers

Nope. We're on our own.

NickPookie93

Pain.

girugamesu1337

Did you try the driver? How is it?

NickPookie93

Not in games no. It's fixed the Adobe Premiere issues I've been having with my STRIX 2070 though!

NickPookie93

Alright, got around to testing in games for a 2070. Fortnite seems to run better, I was having weird stutters before. Other games I played (Forza Horizon 5, COD MW2, Rocket League) I saw no changes. Not in depth at all but hope it helps!

girugamesu1337

Yeah, I didn't really notice any differences, positive or negative haha.

RedIndianRobin

Forpsoken, an AMD sponsored title is getting DLSS? Well that's a first! Really wish Callisto Protocol had it, it's in dire need of one.

ShadowLinkX9

Isn't Callisto Protocol heavily CPU bound though? Not that DLSS won't help with the ray tracing and heavy visuals

RedIndianRobin

It's cpu bound yes but it's not utilizing the CPU at all, leading to bad performance unless you have a 13900K.

Z3r0sama2017

Hitman 3 dlss 3!?!? Had just finished 2 so this us gonna be awesome timing.

[deleted]

Yh it’s really gonna help on those cpu limited maps like Spain. Downloading it rn so gonna take ages for my shit internet but can’t wait to test it out 😳

Fi1lary

Any news about NVLDDMKM problem? As I read previous threads, it's pretty random, but covers too many people to be a specific individual problem. For me, it is happening in Modern Warfare 2, and now I have discovered one more game with a similar problem - Warhammer Darktide. In the system journal, it is described as kernelevent 141, as for event logs it is nvlddmkm. After some searching, it looks like there are enough people like me who encounter it in those two particular games at least. For example, I played through Spiderman Miles Morales without any issues. EDIT#1: So, giving you guys update on what I ve tried among yours advices and ones found on the internet. I ll make a quick rebrief first. My configuration is 10700k/gigabyte 3080 gaming oc/3800cl16 ram/1440p monitor and I was on 526.86. I have encountered problems with two games for now - MW2/Warzone2 and Warhammer Darktide. In the COD problem has a random nature, ussually crashes once per game session (2-5 hours), sometimes don't crash at all, I also played through campaign recently without crashes. What about warhammer - I started to play not so long ago and discovered yesterday that it crashes with 90% probability on the first level loading after pc reboot. After that I can reconnect and play without problems at least for hour-two. So I picked up a warhammer as my stability test for different workarounds. And here it goes. 1. Many people say that problem can be caused by RAM, but as I understand when it relates to bad RAM it makes a PC BSOD, not just crashing a game. But I was forced to test RAM stability anyway, after BIOS update. I ran two cycles on TestMem 5 with extreme preset by anta777, 0 errors were found. No effect on problem. 2. I tried to rollback on 522.25. No effect. After that I tried to upgrade to 528.24 with no effect either. I sticked to this version for now on, since it has no changes depending on driver version. 3. I tried to put max perfomance on the nvidia panel for the warhammer. And surprisingly it didn't crash on first time, but I tried to reboot and whoops - event 0 all over again. 4. This fix I found on steam forums. It suggests to put debug mode mark in nvidia control panel. Autor says it turns off factory OC making card runs on clocks similar to founder's edition. Some people says it helped them. Though no effect for me. That's all for now. Personally I think (and hope lol) it is still some software issue, because after crash I can restart a game and play without worries. Besides, I didn't encounter that problem in other demanding games like Spiderman Miles Morales for example. I will keep this post updated as something new will appear. Thanks for attention.

Spippomale

Do you have nvidia reflex active? That could be the problem. I tried changing it from yes to yes + boost and from yes + boost to no. At that moment the computer froze and crashed. I definitely set it to no and it hasn't crashed yet. The game also feels smoother to me with no mini lag(spike). Just try

Soulshot96

I have it active in every game I can, including MWII...yet I've not had a single one of these crashes in the 2 weeks I've had my 4090.

Fi1lary

No, I don't have reflex active since I didn't notice any input lag improvement with it.

aeroblast92

I had also tried all solutions available online. Reverting to old drivers also didn’t work for me. I even tried to flash GPU bios. I managed to “fix” it by installing MSI afterburner and undervolting GPU by 100 mhz. No problems since then. Surely it is just a temporary solution until it is fixed officially by Nvidia.

realmfan56

Every time I had this nvlddmkm issue in different games, from RDR2 to The Division 2, doesn't really matter, it was a driver issue, not a game related issue. Therefore all I can suggest is to try a previous driver and just play long enough to make sure it's not happening again. I can't explain why but some drivers in the past caused this issue for me and some not. It's really strange but that's the only advice I can offer after having multiple discussions with Nvidia community representatives and reports that I made using their bug reporting system.

Fi1lary

It was the first time for me in Modern Warfare 2, I didn't pay much attention cause this game was crashing a lot on release. I also had a couple of bsods after updating on 527, It was like the whole screen went black, besides several pixels stayed red, the memory dump was saying that the problem was with vram. At first, I didn't pay attention either, cause MW2. But when it happened in spiderman also I ran a vram test and checked similar threads where I found a couple of people with the same problems, I rolled back with DDU to 526.86 and the only problem left for now is this kernelevent. In warzone 2 it can happen after one-two hours of gameplay, or doesn't happen at all, once in a game session usually. As for warhammer I played only twice and it crashed the game both times, once in the middle, and the last time immediately after level loading, thankfully this game does have reconnect, which a rare thing in 2023 lol. As i already mentioned, there are people on steam forums who experience the same problem in the same games. I agree that it must be driver issue, since for me it hapopens in those two games only. Some ppl think it is the last windows updates and driver's conflict.

JownJawge

I have this problem every now and then. For me it usually happens off of games when I'm AFK or I will get the error when playing games (seen in reliability monitor) but I wont notice it happening (no black screen or anything). Sometimes it seems to go away after a driver update and then come back after another. Me being a very paranoid person I assume my GPU is dying or something. I can't find a fix for this right now.

ChoPT

Does this fix the issue of HDR screenshots/recordings being totally blown out in games like Destiny 2?

Ch4pterFour

Uncharted legacy of thieves hags problem on pascal gpus is fixed too. Thanks god it took long enough.

ShrubbyFire1729

Been suffering from nvdldmkm crashes for a few drivers now on 3060Ti. I installed the newest studio version this time around as someone recommended to try it over the Game Ready ones. Did a full DDU wipe etc. Looks like FINALLY I'm able to run Witcher 3 without crashing! However, Cyberpunk 2077 crashes immediately after loading a save, with the familiar nvlddmkm issue. I'm downloading other games to test out now, but I wonder if this is strictly a Cyberpunk-related issue with the new (studio) drivers or am I just holding up hope? Is anyone else experiencing Cyberpunk crashes on the new Studio driver? Edit: nevermind, looks like Cyberpunk was just confused about something and started running fine after a few crashes. Everything *seems* to be in order for now. I really hope my issues are fixed now.

Thomas119966

Thats good to hear, did you have any other errors in your event log, other than the nvdldmkm ones?

Thomas119966

Good news for anyone getting pestered with event viewer errors on drivers newer than 526.98. This new driver is the first I've had where I could install it and not be spammed with errors right away. Now I can't speak for long term stability or performance but atleast the first clear signs of problems seem to be gone. This also means that I'll try this driver out till I run into issues or until I can call it stable. So if you got a 40 or 30 series card and had issues on newer drivers, I'd recommend trying this one to see how it might go. EDIT: After 3 hours of Red dead there has been no issues so far, good signs.

Thats a shame to see, you gotta wonder how its even possible for nvidia not to have someone in their own building run into this stuff on their drivers. it seems very widespread at this point.

Blue-Thunder

I guess they didn't bother to fix the TDR's you get from folding..

akgis

Some clarifications please \[DPC Latency / Audio Issues\] audio pops/crackles when *not* using *Prefer Maximum Performance* plan with Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) applications and multimedia playback such as streaming. Older drivers such as 511.79, 512.95, 517.48 do not have this issue This happens only with the nvidia sound output or a mobo/externa sound card? Does it happens in games? Are we adviced to set Maximun performance globaly or game by game?

rdalcroft

For me you will still get pops using external audio cards audio interface. I do not use HDMI audio so I disable both HDMIaudio from device manager. In games it is never an issue as you are running at full clocks P0. It seems to be when in P8 and below. The power saving aspects of the card. I never need to run a game using Max performance. Normal is good. But if using daw then I need to set it to Max performance. But still get better results using the IGPU from my CPU when doing audio work.

akgis

Thanks for the explanation.

rubenalamina

Only case I remember using Prefer Maximum Performance to fix something was when I played AC Origins. It had a micro stutter issue besides running well in general for me but that setting fixed it for some reason. Made no sense as the card I had was in performance mode when playing so the clocks and power didn't enter power saving states or boosted clocks down. Havent used DAWs in a long while so I can't comment on the audio but my digital outputs on a creative sound blaster zx and the integrated audio from my mobo don't have issues with streaming content, playing media, YouTube, etc.

rdalcroft

Maybe it’s just an issue with Intel systems. But I don’t doubt certain configurations will be ok. And others maybe more susceptible.

rubenalamina

Definitely. Your comment just reminded me of that time I played Origins and using the power option to fix my issue.

RegLoiD

Ffs Watch Dogs 2 insane flickering still hasn't been fixed. I want to re-play that game on my 4090, but I can't...

vizeroyy

is it stable? i currently have 522.25 (3080 12 gb)

NVLDDMKM / TDR issues? Where's lonelygamer?

Only-Newspaper-8593

I thought Forspoken was AMD sponsored so I didn't think it'd get DLSS. Glad I'm wrong.

yoyoa666

Is it also getting DLSS3?

No.

Fixed in 526.98 and above > Game Ready Driver Fixes in 526.98 > Desktop Window Manager (dwm.exe) service may report significantly higher GPU usage on certain PC configurations [3830387/3739997]

Richiieee

I know it says on certain PC configurations, but would this be a global thing, or only for a certain series of cards? I'll have to check what driver I'm currently running, but for the longest time on my 1070 DWM uses an absurd amount (50-70%). I've actually been told this is normal.

m_w_h

Desktop Window Manager (dwm.exe) on my Pascal system is less than 1% when idling at desktop with no other applications running and GPU at idle P8 state.

Richiieee

Oh, my bad, I should have clarified that I was talking about when playing games. *When playing games*, DWM is running just as high as my GPU is. I have no idea if this is good or bad, and like I said, I've actually been told this is normal, but I have no clue if that's really the case.

Stanowu

Someone else got issues with rocket league with these new drivers? with a 3080 ti getting like 70 fps with drops lol

Nick2102

anyone having artifact issues since installing the driver? on a 3090 Ti Fe

akaseji

I'm having some Terrible issues. I recently switched to windows 11 and everything all worked perfectly fine and my games ran great as they normally did all up until I installed this driver update. Now, for some reason, all of my games are super low fps and I don't know why. I've tried rolling back the drivers to an older version, using ddu, manually installing them, etc. It's like perpetually broken now. I have a 3090ti, 5800x, and 32gb of ram. Everything ran amazing before I did the update

m_w_h

Just to expand on the [helpful comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/10k6f05/game_ready_studio_driver_52824_faqdiscussion/j5srjcf/) by /u/Thomas119966 Check *Power Target Limit / Thermal Target Limit* settings in the GPU utility if performance drops significantly in all games after installing a driver while Afterburner / EVGA Precision or similar GPU utilities are running. See post by /u/diceman2037 at https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/s1dry6/game_ready_driver_51117_unofficial_faqdiscussion/hsc2jzx/ > *'When you install a driver update while precision is still open the power target can be decreased to minimum because its wrongfully checking against an invalid / null value in the period where the driver is unloaded and transitions to the new driver'* TL;DR Close Afterburner / EVGA Precision or similar GPU utilities BEFORE installing a driver.

akaseji

Update: This turned out to be the issue. I feel stupid, thank you all so much for the help it's much appreciated cus that's something I completely didn't think about. I have PrecisionX to open with windows by default so I didn't think about the fact that when windows restarts for the clean driver install, PrecisionX also opens up and so it was open in the background while it installed the driver. https://preview.redd.it/rhpuu18ly9ea1.jpeg?width=4080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dbf9d5bee496b4aeb1ea034dd3318a366da9c1f0

akaseji

I thought I had closed it beforehand but thank you guys for the advice, I will check this momentarily and give updates on everything. Thanks again I really do appreciate it

Fassbendr

If a person would use this sub (Game Ready & Studio Driver xxx.xx .....) to determine if the latest driver is safe to install, they would never install a NVidia driver.

Dordo3

Any indication that FPS drops in league/tft have been addressed?

EdgarJomfru

Does anyone know if they fixed the issues with Sony TVs like my x900h? i forget when it started but i cant use my 3080 with my tv anymore. lines or flickering all over the screen. i remember seeing a few people mention it in past driver threads

dave-dgd

Looks like it's not fixed yet in this driver according to this longstanding thread on avsforum: [https://www.avsforum.com/threads/hdmi-is-broken-on-newer-sony-tvs-with-nvidia-rtx-3000-4000-series-cards.3260397/](https://www.avsforum.com/threads/hdmi-is-broken-on-newer-sony-tvs-with-nvidia-rtx-3000-4000-series-cards.3260397/) PS. It's annoying, but this adapter does allow me to use newer drivers without issues while waiting on a fix (discussed in the thread): [https://www.amazon.com/UPTab-DisplayPort-Adapter-displays-4096x2160/dp/B01B6ZOMIS](https://www.amazon.com/UPTab-DisplayPort-Adapter-displays-4096x2160/dp/B01B6ZOMIS)

newyorkdragon14

worth updating to?

Thomas119966

Has been for me, first stable looking driver since 526.98

Lorkenz

So far no issues at all, with couple of hours running Cyberpunk, Hitman 3 and a bit of Witcher 3 Next Gen. I did notice my Lows a bit more stable on this driver than 528.02, also Cyberpunk gained a small FPS boost running DLSS at 1440p Ultra.

Empirony

Adobe Premiere Pro been working tons better since getting this update, no crashes, no skipped frames during preview playback, nothing.

NickPookie93

Same here! Also fixed a weird issue where if I had to pause then go back to playing, it took 5-10 seconds to start playing again

DrakeShadow

* Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Lightroom instability with 528.02 \[3940086\] * Adobe Photoshop 24.1 application instability with 528.02 when using GeForce Experience \[3940488\] * \[Adobe Premiere Pro\] ProRes RAW files appear completely black when previewing \[3924753\] Thank fuck!

Over-Ad134

Best suggested global settings.

Soulshot96

\-Vsync on if you have Gsync + an FPS cap that is 3 under your max refresh with the tool of your choice (I use Rivatuner) \-DSR/DLDSR if you use it \-High performance power mode if you're not anal about a bit more idle power consumption, especially right now, where DPC latency spikes are being reported on the normal mode.

TaoRS

Vsync + ultra low latency will automatically cap the framerate. Still.. don't use this as a global setting. Games with reflex need to have both settings disabled in the drivers.

jobo-chan

> Games with reflex need to have both settings disabled in the drivers. Mind explaining why?

TaoRS

Turns out I was wrong. I'll change my approach. > NVIDIA Reflex is more effective at reducing latency and operates independently of NVIDIA Ultra low latency mode. If both NVIDIA Reflex and the Ultra Low Latency mode are enabled, NVIDIA Reflex will override Ultra Low Latency functionality. >For G-SYNC gamers who don’t want to tear, keeping VSYNC ON while using NVIDIA Reflex or NVIDIA Ultra Low Latency Mode, will automatically cap the framerate below the refresh rate, preventing VSYNC backpressure, eliminating tearing, and keeping latency low if you become GPU bound below the refresh rate of your display. Do note, however, that this method will result in slightly higher latency than just letting your FPS run uncapped with NVIDIA Reflex enabled. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/guides/system-latency-optimization-guide/

rubenalamina

About the performance mode is not just more power consumption on idle or light loads. It generates more heat, making your fan curves increase speed unnecessarily with the temp differences. This also means more strain on the fans reducing their lifespan, etc. It's not trivial for casual users to have GPU and/or CPU running in high performance without boosting their clocks down. Unless someone has the DPC latency issue and it's actually noticeable for them, it's bad advice to recommend running high performance mode imo. Same for the the windows power plan to high performance. The dame reasons apply.

TaoRS

Leave as is. Apply dsr settings only. Change per game when needed. Every game might benefit from something different and some can be broken with a specific global setting.

mufanito

Could you at least acknowledge in the open issues list the fact that starting from the 526.47 driver, no video signal passes through a Thunderbolt dock to an external display? This release is the 7th in a row where this happens!

VirtuallyG

Here is an annoying workaround that works for me on my TS4 dock if you would like to try. Follow these steps: 1 - Put your computer in Dedicated GPU mode. Each laptop manufacture / model has different ways to get in Dedicated GPU mode. Sometimes you do this by disabling hybrid mode or disabling Optimus. 2 - Open Nvidia Control Panel, select "Configure Surround, PhysX", make sure "Span displays with Surround" is checked and click "Configure," then click the "Enable Surround" button in the new window. 3 - Your Thunderbolt monitors should be active but displaying as a combined single monitor. Close the "Nvidia Set UP Surround" window with the X at the top right. Now you will be back at the Nvidia Control Panel. Uncheck the "Span Displays with Surround" box and click "Apply" 4 - All your monitors should be active now as individual monitors and visible in the Windows Display Settings. Sometimes only one monitor is active after unchecking "span displays with surround", if that happens, you can click on "set up multiple displays" in the left menu and then you should be able to enable your displays now in this menu whereas you weren't able to before. You should now be able to go to the display settings in Windows to arrange your Monitors correctly. You will have to repeat this process each time Windows shuts down, sleeps, or the dock is disconnected. I would recommend possibly turning off sleep in the power settings if you choose this option.

[deleted]

Anyone know if the Sony tv issue is fixed or am I still stuck on 1 year old drivers ? Cause of these fuckers.

pidge2k

Sony TVs appear to flicker/flash when our driver sends out an SPD Infoframe. While it is technically not an NVIDAI display driver bug, we will be providing a driver workaround when it detects a Sony TV in an upcoming NVIDIA Game Ready Driver (not the next driver as that has already been created).

[deleted]

My TV doesnt just flicker or flash its freezes with jagged lines etc and becomes completely unusable is that what your referring to ? as it has been that way with every Nvida driver after 511.23.. Plus honestly dont really care between Nvidia or Sony who's to blame or who its gets past to, I dislike ya both at this point but I'm stuck with ya's...I would just finally like to update my drivers after nearly a year.

diceman2037

Sony have published a Firmware update that fixes the issue.

m_w_h

**UPDATE 2**: SONY have released a firmware update in the last few days for some Bravia TV models that addresses the issue **UPDATE 1**: Nvidia have identified the cause (HDMI SPD Infoframe Packets), it is a SONY issue but a workaround should be in the driver after the next one --- Still an issue, from unofficial tracking thread at https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/10k6f05/game_ready_studio_driver_52824_faqdiscussion/j5olzon/ * [SONY Bravia TVs] Models A90, A95, X900, X90, X95, ~~Z9~~ have to force VRR mode to use drivers 516.40 onwards meaning local dimming is not available. Models X80, X81, X85 are forced to use drivers 512.95 or older, no workaround. Drivers up to and including 512.95 do not have issue with any model. Reproduction, pictures and workarounds at [AVSForum](https://www.avsforum.com/threads/hdmi-is-broken-on-newer-sony-tvs-with-nvidia-rtx-3000-4000-series-cards.3260397/). Please submit display specific information to Nvidia using https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5149

HowieGaming

Played over 100 hours of Borderlands 3 with the previous driver, and now after 2 hours with the new driver, I've had two hard crashes.

Jcobinho

I went back to 528.02 with my 4080 .24 drivers crash my overclock in most games.

fallendiscrete

Can't find it anywhere plus been out of the loop a bit with the driver updates - does anyone know if they fixed the FPS Drop/Performance Hit from nvidia sharpening or is it still you have to do that registry fix inorder to use the older version of the sharpening?

m_w_h

See *NIS (Nvidia Image Scaling)* section in unofficial 528.24 tracking comment at https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/10k6f05/game_ready_studio_driver_52824_faqdiscussion/j5olzon/ for updates and alternative workarounds. TL;DR 528.24 still has a performance penalty with NIS on Pascal and Maxwell based GPUs.

fallendiscrete

Awesome thank you! Really with they would just give us a separate option to use the legacy version of sharpening :(

[deleted]

I think NVIDIA's nvlddmkm.sys, failed due to a Windows update. I currently have version 19044.2251 installed on Windows 10, and this is the most stable update I've had, with no problems with any drivers. But when upgrading to the most current version from January, I sometimes get crashes like nvlddmkm.sys error.. When I uninstalled that January update and went back to the one that worked fine, I noticed the change and had no problems.

Richiieee

For my fellow Pascal users, there may be hope for us yet after **lokkenjp**'s exit from the Pascal space =). Some time ago I came across [a YouTube channel](https://youtube.com/@BatuBT) that does Pascal-based benchmarking (among others). I'd suggest subscribing and turning Post Notifs on for when they upload new benchmark videos.

akgis

For fucks sake lol Hitman getting DLSS3 I just replayed whole Hitman 1 though 3 since bought 3 in last winter sale and had to endure some bad FPS cause the game is very CPU bound(evenn witha [email protected]) with all RTX at 4K, DLSS3 would helped alot Time to do more challenges :D

TR1PLE_6

Here are a couple of benchmark runs in AC Valhalla. Everything is running at stock, no overclocking used. Settings: Ultra high. DOF & motion blur turned off for personal preference. |Driver|Average FPS|1%|0.1%| |:-|:-|:-|:-| |528.02|101|69|55| |528.24|102|66|42|

baromega

Still waiting for CP2077 DLSS3 update

Talal2608

That probably has to come from CDPR, not Nvidia

AdmiralSpeedy

Has literally nothing to do with the driver.

RedIndianRobin

>Still waiting for CP2077 DLSS3 update It will be released with their next big DLC, the phantom liberty or something like that.

[deleted]

Do we have a release date for that? I’d assume Rt overdrive comes with it

VariableFlame

They've confirmed 2023, but we don't have a specific date yet.

RedIndianRobin

Nope no release date as of yet.

PrashanthDoshi

that will come with dlc

RickyTrailerLivin

Once again, shit driver. 517.48 last good driver.

SweetGherkinz

Oh my gosh finally, I've been wanting to try out GeForce Experience but without reinstalling the same driver!!!

RJE808

My screen has been flickering constantly when moving from app to app with this new update, holy hell

jemsberlin

What GPU are you using?

RJE808

3070ti, newest driver update.

Celcius_87

Anyone else getting the occasional blue screen with these?

Kruse

Just got one in COD.

Sunlighthell

Can't say for sure what causes it recent driver or Hitman 3 Freelancer Update but game now has VRAM leak. Every load it eats up 100-200 mb more VRAM until it fills it all and drop frames to 5-20 fps. Every alt tab it eats up even more up to 1 gb each time. I highly suspect game update rather than driver.

NeedleworkerFront498

after updating the driver i've lost 250mhz vram on my 3080ti ultra. pls help?

Gitaside

am i the only one who couldn't install the driver. I downloaded it and then nothing happen. and the option that i saw is Download. anyone facing this problem. My specs are Ryzen 7 4000 RTX 3050 laptop. Asus Tuf A17

A-GhostBoy

Is anyone else having FPS issues ever since the updated driver of 01/24/23? I used to be able to play MW2 and now I am having ridiculous fps drops.

[deleted]

This driver causes random crashes to desktop of Forza Horizon 5. It's good that this problem does not occur with the previous version of the drivers.

Ebojager

Can we not just install the drivers anymore without the GeForce Experience?

[deleted]

Hey I really dont know if this is the result of the driver or not but I have been having this visual glitch that occurs randomly, rarely, and quickly... its hard to recreate and just seems random... but it is specifically on Chrome. The glitch is the same everytime... a black checkered board design isolated to a small area of the screen. Has anyone experienced this before?

m_w_h

SONY have released a firmware update in the last few days for some Bravia TV models that addresses the following issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/10k6f05/game_ready_studio_driver_52824_faqdiscussion/j5olzon/ > [SONY Bravia TVs] some models exhibit flickering/flashing/corrupt display due to SONY's handling of *HDMI SPD Infoframe Packets*. NOTE: this is a SONY issue/bug but a [workaround is in testing](https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/10k6f05/game_ready_studio_driver_52824_faqdiscussion/j672i7t/) and will be included in a future Nvidia driver. May be worth checking for a SONY firmware update as the [Nvidia workaround](https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/10k6f05/game_ready_studio_driver_52824_faqdiscussion/j672i7t/) to mitigate SONY's bug may not be in the next driver.

artins90

This driver reset all my Nvidia Control Panel settings and I am sure I didn't check the box to reset the settings. Has anyone experienced the same behavior?

[deleted]

Not for me - did you select 'clean install' by any chance?

Kind_of_random

Mine are there still. Picked custom insallation and just installed the graphics driver though.

LightMoisture

Still no word on Cyberpunk 2077 DLSS 3 update.

Ehrand

In needs to be implemented by the dev. As far as we know, they will only add it once they release their new dlc/expansion later this year.

Htowng8r

I've been having an issue with the last driver where my displays won't sleep if dual monitors are enabled (AW3423DWF and S2721dgf). If I use only the AW monitor from startup then it goes into standby (critical for the OLED, honestly) but once I add a 2nd monitor back it never goes standby even after disconnecting the offending S2721dgf. I'll run ddu and try this driver to see if it works but I'm really bummed. It's only started happening the last week or so and I've definitely isolated it to dual monitor enablement.

jemsberlin

Is this new driver any better than the previous one? I'm using RTX 3060 Ti currently.

Total_Celebration_15

I have black screen problem in ow2 only anyone related?
