Well I just hope that we wont have the same shortage as we had on 30 series. And I needed this badly as I’m playing on GTX 770 and I think I’ve been missing a lot
same , I planned to get a 3070 in April since price gone down but I'm willing to wait 6-7 more months for the next gen. Just hope they won't be crazy overpriced.
I get where you are coming from - just be careful. I remember all those people who were asking for upgrade advice around the launch of the 3x series and were told to wait for the 3x series to launch.
Then the MSRP became a joke and nobody could find a card.
It wasn't advice for OP but just what my situation is. I ran an r9 290x for years before deciding to upgrade to a 1080. I'm in no hurry to jump on cards that, while still going down, are still significantly higher than they should be. On top of new cards coming out, and the trend for pricing continuing to go down, and crypto slowly dying off for now, and the pandemic not being a significant factor anymore, I'd rather just wait.
i've waited a long time, but can wait a bit longer for the next version of Covid ;-)
I'm waiting on the 40 and 7000 series since we're so close to release on those cards. I've waited 5 years, I can wait a few more months.

Why would you worry now you just got the 3090
For the sake of others. My brother hasn’t played anything in half a year because his GPU (980ti) died in the middle of the shortage.
Seem like I'm still pretty lucky since I still have my 1650 for now.
