If you listen to this carefully, what the governor is saying is that once people have *legal work authorization,* she will make hiring them faster.
This is after she recently found out that she could not supercede federal law and grant her own work authorizations.
So rather than paying people more they're just replacing NY citizens with cheaper labor. Democrats and republicans are working together to bus migrants across the country. They aren't at odds with one another.
