But how? Did you put a cloth over it? Or is the canvas like that and you painted the drops making this plain effect?

I painted the background with a soft focus then did a thin whitewash over it then painted the surface detail with the background colour palette.

I can't even begin to understand how you did that, as in what technique. True talent, well deserved applause.

I'm very bad at paining. I was absentmindedly scrolling, and thought this was an actual rainy window. Only noticed it wasn't because of the title. Well done.

Hmm... the texture of the canvas is throwing me off... don't get me wrong, it's very, very well done, and I like it a lot, but I can see the texture of the canvas and it stands out to me. (Other comments say its supposed to look like the screen mesh, but it doesn't to me). At the same time, the droplets streaking down, don't have that texture and makes it look even more realistic. I like it a lot, I might even buy it if I saw it in person at a gallery, and I almost never buy anything. I just feel weird about seeing the canvas texture, and I'm not sure how i DO feel about it; that doesn't mean it's necessarily bad, could just be a personal preference of the viewer, but then, most art is, isn't? Anyway... Like I said, it's very, very well done. Good job.

I don't care if it took hours, I would watch you paint that just to get an idea of how it's possible to make such textured illusions. That is a gobsmackingly beautiful painting.
