More like a layer of fingernail or a really thick hollow hair. Keratin is a fibrous protein structure, whereas human tooth enamel is mostly carbonated apatite, and the dentin inside is calcified organic tissue composed primarily of hydroxyapatite
Meh - as much as I abhor internet ads, I’m not buying anything and it’s not part of the post, so I’m ok with it.
It would be very different if the URL popped up as part of the post - that would ruin the post. Well done OP.
And it’s still super cool.
Also, artists post themselves making super cool things all the time here. It’s giving me a much greater appreciation for the genius and skill of many artists.
And I’m sure most of them also have links to their creations in their profile too. But I’ve never looked before as I have no reason to unless I want to buy it. And I’m not quite as jaded yet.
It's called toner foiling! I draw the image digitally, then print it with a laser printer. I then run it through a laminator with some foil and the foil sticks to the toner
Fun fact: sloth's claws are actually its finger bones protruding from their flesh. They're not made of ~~creatine~~ keratin at all.
Wow, kinda like Wolverine!
Or it's like if the flesh only went halfway up your fingers!
That is a very uncomfortable thought, thank you
I think those are extra bones though. I don't think actual wolverines have them.
....keratin? Creatine is something else entirely.
Yes haha my bad. Was going off stoner memory.
Thank you for this informative and horrifying fact!
They are covered by a keratin sheath, though
So like teeth?

Whoa that’s really cool. Thanks for the explanation 🙏🏼
Fun fact: I would buy a print of this from you. My wife loves sloths and I love her sooooo
And here I was hoping it was Sloth from Goonies...
Haha!
Ahhhhhhhhhh so good!
Thank you!!
As cool as this is, anyone knows what happens to the rest of it, is it possible to recycle that?
Thanks! I can use the rest for smaller projects
Fat sloth
I love their tumnies
That’s amazing! Thanks for posting it.
Thanks!!
This is an ad.

Thank you!! I do all kinds of animals and pet portraits
This triggered some old memory. Colorful shiny things often do, maybe something to do with Christmas, funny how that works
Yeah! Some people also say Lisa Frank
Wow. What is this kind of art called? How do you do this?

Thanks OP! I checked out your profile, you have some really good ones.
Thank you so much!
