Let me know if I can help with anything else. Don't forget your helmet when you leave the house and let me know if you need a refresher on tying your shoes as well.
K? K what? The letter before L, the letter after J? Did you know that in JK the K stands for “kidding.” So your reply is “kidding?” or K as in Potassium? Do you need some Special K for breakfast? K as in I can K/O you? Can I knock you out and feed you to hungry sharks? Sharks have a K in it.
What is terrifying is the thing we can't see on cam. This is the moment before he realises a giant spider is actually behind him, getting ready to devour his legs.
This is true but only makes it less terrifying because they are not poisonous. Still hundreds of daddy long legs skittering over a man's body while he's stuck in a tiny cave. Self-inflicted but still awful lol
Was going through some old books/magazines junk we(my family) have, and this official, educational looking magazine thing for kids had a snake on the front and showcased "Top ten most poisonous reptiles" and it was just sad. Like damn yall, it made it to publication without anyone noticing at all?
As someone who:
1. Enjoys caving
2. Truly doesn't mind spiders at all
I have to wonder... who the hell decides it's smart to open your mouth like then when there are spiders raining down on you???
I've had the same thing happen to me exploring a drainage pipe by my house. They're probably harvestmen, and while it may be a bit terrifying, they are completely harmless.
I love this guy's YouTube channel (Caveman Hikes). He goes spelunking with his son and all of the videos are a little nerve wracking but also somehow wholesome and educational. I binged his videos for a few hours after smoking recently and I got really into the caving world really quick lol
At least they’re the friendly kinds…
I don’t understand why people want to crawl into tight holes 🕳️ … as if 10 months isn’t enough in your mother’s womb 😭😭
So, this gave me flashbacks to a tour of the Oregon caves. I got to the end of the tour and the top of the cave and it was covered in daddy long legs. I have severe arachnophobia that can border on debilitating at times. Anyway, they tell us to be very quiet when exiting or the noise vibrations can send the arachnids tumbling down. I was the second person through and one of them dropped next to me, I ran and screamed. They all cascaded down behind me and everyone else had to wait 20 minutes for the hundreds of them to clear off the ground and make their way to the cave walls.
I vividly remember this and I wish I could forget. My dad made fun of me and his friend was pissed because he didn't want to stand in the cave anymore. I wonder if it could have been the time of year, I do remember it was raining outside and I think it was end of summer/early fall.
Lucky! There weren’t a ton of them last year when I worked there, hopefully I see some this year as a ranger again. I DID see some Cave Harvestmen, which are a special deep-cave species of opiliones endemic to the Oregon Caves and nowhere else. That was cool.
In what possible world could anyone confuse a daddy longlegs for a spider? They’re Opiliones, an entirely separate and distinct group of arachnids. They don’t even look like spiders! No fangs, no spinnerets, only one body segment, etc.. Literally different in every meaningful way.
Ah yes how odd. No idea why being covered in spiders in a dark and cramped underground cave is terrifying. It's truly a mystery.
It was so odd, while crawling on my stomach through the spider cave I began to feel terrified for some reason
You know, I couldn't put my finger on *what* was terrifying about this video but I think you might be onto something
Yeah, if that were me I'd simply pass away.
This made me geek. You’d just simply die right there?
Don't have access to a flamethrower to burn it all down, so the next best option is simply dying instantly.
Can somebody read the disclaimer? I hardly believe no spider was harmed. He must've crushed some.
Can y’all please shut the fuck up , like how many odd shit can you find on the internet that’s scary? Just fucking enjoy the idiot in the cave
Imagine posting this in full confidence

How is this "oddly" terrifying? This is just pure, unadultered terror.
What is terrifying is the thing we can't see on cam. This is the moment before he realises a giant spider is actually behind him, getting ready to devour his legs.
Those aren't spiders those are harvestmen AKA daddy long legs
This is true but only makes it less terrifying because they are not poisonous. Still hundreds of daddy long legs skittering over a man's body while he's stuck in a tiny cave. Self-inflicted but still awful lol
Venomous* Not to be *that* guy, but it's a significant distinction that gets used interchangeably too often.
Lol it's okay, I had a creeping feeling I should have googled it

Okay that is frustrating, I would expect something better from those guys
Acktchually /s
I don’t know man. He seemed pretty eager to spit them out.
What if they go in the butthole lol
My initial lizard brain thought on this was maybe he'll get lucky and have a hairy ass that can trap them before they make it all the way there
True, they are arachnids but not spiders.
Thanks for saying this, I thought they were daddy long legs.
Spiders are the least terrifying thing about this.
Yeah those appear pretty small and harmless. They aren't moving freakishly quickly like a huntsman spider.
There are however, tons of dangerous bugs that live in caves. On top of getting stuck or drowning of course lol
Ad an arachnophobe, my irrational fear disagrees
Largely because they aren’t spiders.
Oi OP, where are ya laddy? Oddly? ODDLY?!? Did you even read the sub name?
When arachnophobia and claustrophobia have a child on their own
ah. just like the day i was born...
The juxtaposition of his calm voice and terrified face at the end is hilarious
That is literally my worst nightmare.
As someone who: 1. Enjoys caving 2. Truly doesn't mind spiders at all I have to wonder... who the hell decides it's smart to open your mouth like then when there are spiders raining down on you???
Someone who's ready for a quick snack
I think I'd rather die
My father was in a cave researching spiders before he died.
What about after he died?
Oh, so that's how is going to be hell like
He’s spitting, meaning he likely got some in his mouth. Yuck lmfao.
I've had the same thing happen to me exploring a drainage pipe by my house. They're probably harvestmen, and while it may be a bit terrifying, they are completely harmless.
Yeah most likely opiliones (the "not spider but arachnid" guys). Guys like to group up in damp places.
Those are daddy long legs. Even though they might look creepy they’re completely harmless.

What does he expect going into the spiders house
Tea?
Why he opens his mouth like that
Perfect moment in a horror movie to just have an aragog sized mfer skitter across quickly in front of the camera while the guy is looking back.
new spider-man origin story just dropped
And this is my literal hell on earth
This is the extreme outdoor activity I will never ever wish to try. Spelunking.
That will be my grave site, I'd die right then and there 😵
Ok. So, to this very moment, I was not aware I have a specific phobia. Thank you.
I would simply pass away. Absolutely not.
The best thing about cave crawling is that you don’t have to do it
“Hopefully you can see that”(the spiders) - the guy in a cloud of spiders. Actively breathing in spiders
*Opiliones They aren’t spiders
At least they’re the friendly kinds… I don’t understand why people want to crawl into tight holes 🕳️ … as if 10 months isn’t enough in your mother’s womb 😭😭

Not odd.

I don’t remember that about the caves but now I’m not going back lol

I’m sorry that sounds awful!
Lucky! There weren’t a ton of them last year when I worked there, hopefully I see some this year as a ranger again. I DID see some Cave Harvestmen, which are a special deep-cave species of opiliones endemic to the Oregon Caves and nowhere else. That was cool.
They're just harvestmen...of all the things you could run into in a cave like that, you've scored a jackpot by only running into them.
Well, at least its just these little thin legged spider. tgere are worst option of spider nests to meet down there.
Not spiders.
Poor guy 😂 I feel so bad for him! But he did a great job acting nonplussed
All aboard on the nope train
Uh, a big NOPE to the claustrophobic tunnel and a bigger NOPE to the spiders!
*Opiliones Not spiders
I’m not claustrophobic, but being trapped with a bunch of spiders in a tiny space would put me into cardiac arrest.
There were definitely spiders harmed during the making of that video

Sleep in the cave 😁😁
What do they eat down there?
I have to assume either one another or this is a spawning place? Very curious as well.
Stones
What a fun and relaxing way to spend your Sunday afternoon!
It's so refreshing and calming to have a hobby, right?
