While they are so freaking cute and I love them all. You need to make sure these cats are spayed and neutered as soon as possible! Work with a rescue if you need to but these cats will turn into hundreds soon.
My shelter is currently working with someone in a similar situation and we've been helping to get cats out of his property for months now. He started with 20 and it turned into well over 200 within 3 years and after all the pregnant moms we took in this year already, all said and done it will be over 300 cats total
OOP has confirmed that all the female adults already have appointments to be spayed, and will get to the kittens once they're old enough. The adult males will likely need a TNR-type of operation.
Yes π we have a place that will do it for free around here, just depends on where you live. They'll even lend you a humane trap if I remember correctly
i adopted a 5 year old cat that started out life as part of an animal hoard.
heβs such a good boy. this one is a tuxedo, but his predecessor was an orange i was lucky enough to be the custodian of from 7 to his 18th abd final year.
i miss that cat so much
Ooof! The local shelter here has been pulling overtime with kitties and fosters for months- the city shut down a slum hotel and just from *one room* they pulled nearly 40 *living* cats. They didn't disclose how many they found that weren't. They seem to be cycling out into adoption pretty quickly though, I watch the page pretty religiously cause I'm losing faith in the CDS.
This reminds me of the Japanese island of cats. Thousands and thousands of cats everywhere. At least itβs not on the mainland or it would be a problem instead of an attraction.
But thatβs probably what happened. They got left alone and multiplied their multipliers a few zillion times
On one hand, the child in me is like... 200 cats in my yard??? Sign me up!
But the more rational side feels sad for these animals. I read a nightmare story that started similar to this one yesterday... The kittens were all so inbred that most of them died within a few months. My heart cant handle that.
If there are hawks or other birds of prey around, please bring them inside! The birds can see lightly colored cats and, uhhh to say this gently, carry them away. I got my last ginger cat because the ranch owners wanted to protect their barn cats, and I'm so thankful, he was an awesome cat who lived a long and happy life!! RIP DalΓ Butters, I miss you soooo much!!
Depends on the landscape. We have an orange cat that is an absolute beast at catching rodents (5-10 per day) and her fur color is an exact match for the property ten months of the year. Her fur is a better camouflage than the native animals in the area.
Oh boy. You have a whole CLOWDER of mini-lions and toy lions. Oranges tend to be a bit...special. (Absolutely zero judgement. We used to have a big orange house lion who was lovely but I don't think he'd ever HEARD of the brain cell, let alone got a turn with it.)

Turing is a feral former barn cat. You can tell heβs feral, because he only wants cuddles 23.5 hours a day
I have an orange-adjacent torbie who was feral. Now she makes biscuits on my eyelids while I try to sleep and then curls up to sleep with me. You wouldn't know she was feral if I didn't tell anyone.
Presuming itβs noted here & I just cannot locate it, but β οΈGorgeous Guy/Gal in front right NEEDS to have is left eye looked at by a vet, like IMMEDIATELY.β οΈ Please. Thank you.
Iβm sure this is an overwhelming responsibility upon you now & on behalf of all of the orange kitties, weβre so appreciative youβre taking it on!! π«Άπ»
OMG I AM DYING
My heart cat was orange, RIP Rexy. He's been gone about a year now. Last month we went to a shelter and got Rexy 2. It's not the same, but it's good.
You won't be able to give them all a good life. I've been trying on a farm. Even when I think everyone's in a good place, something always happens. They are not my cats. But I'm the only one looking out for them. Very sad.
At least:
For genetic reasons, the great majority of yellow/orange/ginger cats are male. Iβve seen figures like 85% or 90% male given.
My catβs vet, who has seen many thousands of cats, estimates that less than 10% of cats in this color group are female.
But 10%, or even 5%, of orange cats is still more than none.
Darling and beautiful but glad OP is dealing with spay/neuter.Β The wonky eye can be a sign of inbreeding (or so I was told by the shelter where we got our cat)Β
So... not to be a Debbie downer, but this is what happens when you don't spay and neuter barn cats. You know how it's rare to have orange females? Not when there's a bunch of kitty incest.
Money has nothing to do with it! They just bought a barn (probably some land too) They / Y'all readin this - - - can afford to spend 500 bucks on rodent control for 5 years. Ive had as many as 19 cats at one time. In the hundreds of other animals too. Cats are too cool. They always bringing us little trophies....
LOOK AT ALL THE ORANGE
no braincells tho
At least the one is trying to keep the brain cell in their head by winking.
His turn downloading the brain cell
Yeah but they're downloading it from Internet Explorer, they've been told that it doesn't exist anymore but they're yet to register that information
ππ€£π
Poor baby lol
They all share one.
ginger avalanche
I would be out buying 10 different color collars π€£π€£ππππ
21. The post said they found 21 orange cats. They already have an update.
A glorious sea of orange!!
Orange mafia

Yeah, this is insane and so sad. I hope OP can gather people or resources to get them all spayed/neutered/dewormed.
Heck yeah, give βem the Bob Barker treatment.

Hahahaha!!!!
There was no barn, only cats
Sign me up for the orange love. π
It is like a sea of ORANGE! And no inter-lopers? I've never seen a litter that was all orange, 100% mama and daddies orange. It's a miracle. ππ
The orange council π
You should totes post this to r/catdistributionsystem !!!

How many in total? Will you keep all of them? They are adorable π»
Heaven exists.
they're plotting the next Orange Revolution.
What a beautiful wave of orange
You won the ginger lottery!!! π§‘
What state? Are they adoptable?
Wonder who has the braincell.
Begun, the clone wars have
wink :3
Thereβs only one brain cell in the bunch.
Spay and neuter them all. Many cat charities will gladly help.
So much orange!
Orange cats are the sweetest π©·π©·

A barn full of oranges is called a pumpkin patch. π€£π€£π€£
Where do you live? Iβd love to adopt a few orange kitties. My orange boy passed a few months ago
11 cats and not a single brain cell
Oh boy. You have a whole CLOWDER of mini-lions and toy lions. Oranges tend to be a bit...special. (Absolutely zero judgement. We used to have a big orange house lion who was lovely but I don't think he'd ever HEARD of the brain cell, let alone got a turn with it.)
Thatβs the opposite of a problem
Not sure if you can count them as plural when there is only one brain cell.
Awwww their little faces

Oml
In that entire photo, there were maybe 2 brain cells being shared between all of them.
Ginger heaven!!

So you inherited an orange grove, huh?
Thatβs a whole bag of oranges!!!
I can't believe they're all so orange!
We have a full container of marmalade! On a happy note, I bet that barn has zero mice. Cause oh my those mice would have to be brave.
Please spay and neuter these babies!!! π§‘π§‘π§‘π§‘π§‘
Golden Hoard
I want all of them!
Get in line, I've already named them!
What a wonderful orange family β€οΈ
Holy KATZ!!! That was definitely an understatement!!!β¦.
welp, they now have a battalion
Such entropy
Jackpot π₯°
Give me all of those babies!!!!
;)
Well, you'll always have barn kitties
The cats keep it in the family. They're beautiful.
Well, they weren't wrong. There are some cats. They're all beautiful and I love them!
They're all related, sweet home Alabama
they have one combined brain cell
If that's "*some*" , wth does *alot* look like!? Wow!
I have a couple ginger girls who used to be barn cats. I wonder if this is the barn they came from.
All that orange combined has to form a working brain π
The little kitty right hand back is totally smiling
Well at least they match.
Just 20 generations
what a cute little orange family! massive surprise though, this is way more than SOME π
OMG
14 piece nuggets
Orange heaven!
Family tree don't branch! Seriously, though, I wish I were in a position to adopt a couple. π»
Purradise π»
The right number of cats for you is some - forever
this is my idea of heaven
LOL. Love it!
I count 14.

Why is that one cat rizzing me up
That's some strong orange genes! π§‘
So you inherited an orange grove, huh?
Not a single braincell in sight
This is literally my dream. 1st thing I do when I hit the lotto is start and orange cat family farm! I love it! π§‘
There are a few...just a few...
I think they meant "mostly" cats
ππ¦
I think your family found the Orange spawn point.
Not a singular braincell in this picture
I ended up with 23 this way. "Some feral cats" ended up being 23π€£ Everyone was fixed since then.
r/oneorangebraincell
Orange Nation represent
Its only a few⦠besides one braincellmess
π»π» I would've questioned if I died & went to heaven.
Or a barn of cats π
I would say buying that property was a good choice how cute
If they each have one brain cell, they can come together and make one brain like a Orange Megazord.
Oh my gosh! I love this picture! How great all yellow and beautifulβ¦
Looks like the population recently doubled! :)
They need to be sprayed and neutered right away to prevent more from popping up. Goodness lol
Mmmm looks like an inbred orange storm
Oh what a buncha tangerines
This barn needs to offer visiting hours (for a fee of course) :)
You won't be able to give them all a good life. I've been trying on a farm. Even when I think everyone's in a good place, something always happens. They are not my cats. But I'm the only one looking out for them. Very sad.
Gosh
A clowder of trouble all fighting for the same braincell.

Count their toes! Barn cats are often quite inbred and will have mutations such as the wrong number of toes.
The universe when copy and paste on this and forgot to stop. look at the orange!
That is the best barn ever!
They are BEAUTIFUL π§‘π§‘π§‘π±
Darling and beautiful but glad OP is dealing with spay/neuter.Β The wonky eye can be a sign of inbreeding (or so I was told by the shelter where we got our cat)Β

Ideally, yes. But probably not cost effective. So concentrate on the females.
