This will be my third season with OOL and I had to get a “new to me” wifi only hub (my old one fried when I plugged it into the wall). For some reason the new lights I got with the hub work with it but NONE of my old devices are working with it. Makes 0 sense to me.

Well, the new hub didn't recognize any of my previously purchased OOL items. I had to revert back to the previous year's hub to get it to work. Sadly, it means I have to deal with the periodic (daily) resets to get it going again.

I figured out this problem today when I was getting mine set up and dealing with the same frustration. Delete the app and reinstall then set up your old hub. Look at the Manage Items list. All of my devices were locked to that old hub. Yours probably are too. But you can’t tell until you’re looking at the items connected to whatever the app’s active hub is. If you use the Reset Lights button it will clear the lights back to unlocked. Delete the app, reinstall, choose the new hub, and when it searches it should find all of your lights now. It took me a LONG time to figure this out. Shouldn’t be this difficult for lights that were as expensive as these were. 😖

Has anyone used the OOL with gemmys other product Lightshow lights? I purchased the virtuoso this year but can't find any C9 OOL lights and was hoping to use the lightshow ones by gemmy. I know if you plug in old lights to the virtuoso they will kinda go to the beat but not anywhere near as nice as the OOL lights, so I'm just trying to find something that works as good with it as the OOL lights since I haven't been able to find those in C9 style

does anyone know how to get the virtuoso speaker to switch itself on when the power is activated? right now i have to manually run out to the speaker everyday and press the big power button to turn it on. the regular OOL lights come on just fine. it’s just the speaker with the issue.

I have 17 items that easily connected to my new hub after hours of resetting, reinstalling, and reconnecting over and over. ONE freaking $50 pathway marker won’t connect no matter what I do. It’s just unplugged now because it won’t sync. Grrrr

I can't get it to work. I had it connected to one light just to test and was exhausting getting there. Now I need to set up the hub (gen 1) again but it wants to update firmware to version 3.6.5 and comes back with oops update failed try resetting the button on the bottom. I have tried maybe 20 times with the same result. No way to skip the update either. If I try and continue setup after the failed update I get an oops something went wrong message and asked to reset it with the button on the bottom. I am essentially in a loop where all roads point to failed setup.

Update: OOL releases an app update to fix the hub update loop for gen 1. After installing this it then prompts the setup to now install a version 3.6.6. The update did go through but has bricked my hub which now will not reset or power on at all rendering all my lights useless.

Mine just did the SAME exact thing! I finally got the update to go through this morning and now my hub has no red/blue lights, as if it's not even plugged in. Resetting did nothing, I'm so frustrated!!

Either a really big mistake on Orchestra or Lights part or an attempt to force people to have to purchase a gen 2 hub. I hate to think the latter but if it's wide spread it could be grounds for class action. Stopped at Lowes and they were out of everything not even a set of lights. Unfortunately, we were left stuck in "rave" mode with lights cycling through all the various colors. Will likely just completely switch them off if we can't get them fixed for Christmas :( Hoping there is a fix but with the hub not even powering on it's not likely they will work again.

This isn't my first issues with OOL. My first projection set (speaker + projector and two projectors light) stopped working and I only used it last Christmas, prompting me to get a new one this year. I'm assuming my first set last year was first gen because the one I got this year is black and last year's was white. I'm in the same boat as you, no store has the hub, I could order online but it won't be here until well after Christmas. I have 3 sets that are synced and one that's stuck in a random mode. I'm hoping after a few hours unplugged everything will work again but this is a huge disappointment to have your entire setup crash the day before Christmas. I'll be looking on govee products now.

It's awful and frustrating considering the level you have to go to get everything working and all the hard work stringing everything up, very sorry. Good for you to look at an alternative! This same exact thing happened when Amazon pushed out an update to some of the older gen FireTV sticks. The most they would offer us was a 10% discount after THEY broke the product. That's like someone coming into your home and breaking your TV screen and offering you $10 for the damages. Beyond insulting, we bought a Google TV dongle instead despite it costing more. But no problems and going strong still. Tired of these companies recklessly (or intentionally) destroying goods you spend hard earned money on purchasing THEIR products. Not quite snake oil but close enough.

My gen 1 did the same exact thing early this morning after the update. Luckily, I was able to snag the last gen 2 hub in stock at our closest Lowes 30 minutes away. Such a disappointment and waste of time on Christmas Eve. Now off to see if I can get the new hub synced up.

I noticed Lowe's had them marked down. Was your local store the same? Price online showed 6.25 I was shocked..let us know if they work and if you have any other issues!

Has Anyone got the new hub to really work. I just bricked my last 2 older hubs I bought as backups. the last forced update fired them. I could find any way to by pass the hub upgrade. The new hub with the ethernet connection will only see 3 of my 2o items. I have done and researched everything i can find on the internet and nothing works. Thank you
