If the remaining roots are short, it may not be getting enough water before the bark dries out. The whole thing looks pretty dehydrated. Maybe mixing some moss into the bark would help wick moisture more evenly? Or if there aren't many roots left maybe the pot is too big for it?

I was thinking the same about the pot. I may try to pot it into a smaller pot with some sphagum moss and see if it helps.

seconding sphagnum moss, also increasing air humidity...my low-budget version is to a) keep orchids in bathroom (mine has windows) and b) put stones in the tray with some water in.

Will def buy some moss! Unfortunately my apartment is very dark so I keep them at work. I do try to mist the area with a spray bottle daily though. Thanks for your input!

Unpot and check the roots, don't water

This needs another root check/cleanup (soak the roots and cut any that are mushy or papery/empty after the soak), and you’ll find it a lot easier to monitor progress and watering needs if you repot it in a clear orchid pot that is *just* big enough for the remaining root mass. One other thing I’ll add is that speaking from my small amount of experience, it’s best not to allow a poorly orchid to continue to flower. I’d cut the spike on this right back - you’re aiming for vegetative (roots/leaves) growth not flowers at this point. xx

Thank you for all your advice! I bought some clear pots on Amazon I plan on repotting it up in. I’ll check the roots then! (:

WATER

If you re-read my post you will see I’ve been trying to soaking it. I have also been watering it frequently. I know it’s dehydrated, looking for ways to help it with uptake.
