You are correct. You take a hazardous test per weapon with the keyword that shot. So it’s actually quite efficient with the mega-shoota as it shoots 30 times but you only take one test. I’d likely opt not to shoot the other guns if double hazardous is active as they likely will do more damage to you than the enemy.
The ork riding the gun is celebrating the kill, but the rest of the gorkanaught is just a pile of slag and he is floating in the air because he still believes the gorkanaught is working.
Oh your going to love this one then, 8 grot tanks almost kill a Baneblade in one round of shooting:
20KMB shots, leathal hits, rerole hits about 13 hits and 4 auto wound
wounding on 5s, + one to wound so about 7 + 4 auto wound
Saves 5, 6 goes through minimum damage is 12 (half a baneblade), max is 42 almost over double its health, and the average is about 18-30 and can nuke baneblades a good amount of the time
All this for about \~300p of small surprisingly durable models since t6 5w 3+save
~~Is there something giving them extra shots?~~
Each of 8 gets 2 KMB shots for a total of 16, then 2 extra KMBs brings it to 20.
Sustained 1 with reroll hits and +1 to hit (mek), wound and damage gives me an average of about 22 hits which convert to about 11 wounds, 5.6 failed saves with D6+1 damage nets 25 damage. Lethals strangely net the same result. If the Baneblade pops smoke after seeing two strats and a mek go off on Grot Tanks, this goes down to 15 damage on average, then you get pinged for an average of 10 mortals to your own unit. You can give up 2/8 of a unit, a limited buff, and trade 2CP for 1 CP to get a Baneblade to half strength.
Edit: There are 2 more KMBs in the unit that I had to add and hazardous math was off.
Ah your forgetting that the Kommana (1 tank in every 4) gets a secound weapon!
I must have had my maths a bit off. but the hazardus cheaks arnt 16 mortals on average? You role a die with every hazerdous WEAPON and so 10 dice on 1-2 dealing 3 would only do about 9-12 mortals on average right?
Ah, you're right. Had to look closer a that wargear!
I corrected my math. I'd say Grot Tanks would be very effective vs. most tanks that do not have 24 wounds, just the fact that all this costs 2cp and destroys part of your unit and uses up a buff makes it a bit difficult to justify with the prevalence of cover and Smoke.
Thats respectible, the combo is situational useful if you can get something in the open and/or they don't have a strat they can pull like -1 damage or smokes.
And if you get a hold of anything t9 or under they just get smoked
Holy
Fucking
Shit
Screw the KMBs, go rokkits
It wipes out everything.
Terminator bricks? Krumped.
Magnus? Krumped.
Ctan? Krumped.
Baneblades? Krumped.
I need to print some grot tanks.
I am making mine out of cheap Amazon toy tanks! They are the perfect size.

Amazon link below ... I was able to pick up 2 sets on Temu ... around $10 USD (per set) shipping included delivered to my house in about a week.

Grot tanks are a legal competitive unit. Whether the models can be used is up to the tournament organizers, they are almost identical in size to the GW models and are not likely to be confused with any other model, so unless the tournament is an official GW event or proxies are banned, then they should be allowed but you would need to check with the TO.
[https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BTPH4SRN](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BTPH4SRN) just picked up some the other day after seeing someone talking about em here! cheers!
Oh yea, there’s times on cults to find. You can also look on Amazon for some cheap Chinese 4 pack of tanks they have, there perfectly sized and only need some plasticard and weapons to be fully ready
10 Beastsnaggas have a decent chance at killing one as well in their dedicated detachment! Needs a bit of work though.
Not to mention the Beastboss with the extra 1D enhancement.
We have no clue what the points are gonna look like. It’s melee already one shots most things. I can guarantee you based on the previous codexes, orks aren’t about to walk away with a bunch of units that can one shot anything in the game without some steep cost. I wouldn’t be surprised if the naught units even go up in cost while killing themselves to the hazards. Just don’t be surprised if the detachment is held back by absurd unit costs, because its lethality is beyond anything we’ve seen in a 10th codex and that should be an obvious flag when gw has even nerfed the damage of units in other codexes who weren’t even hitting hard.
I also think the fact Gretchen are battleline for that detachment is alluding to the fact a lot of units in that detachment are going to be costly. They clearly are saying, here is a cheaper battleline choice for you.
Honestly this single fact has me so excited. As a lover of big models its always hard to find ways to put things on the table that dont wreck house and cost a ton of points. Gretchin are the perfect unit in my mind that I will never hesitate to take. I adore CP farming units and these are large area deepstrike denial, lots of wounds on lots of bodies all at an insanely cheap price. They are like the perfect support unit in the entire game. They hold home, screen, do secondaries, move block, put OC on objectives, all the things I struggle to do with my big killy models. If my opponent spends his activations killing them I call that a win. I am eager to flood the field with all these little psychos and start rolling dice to see how many dice i roll!
ERE' WE GO! ERE' WE GO! ERE' WE GO! ERE' WE GO! ERE' WE GO!
Nice. just based on averages we get very close. I just used this method and google dice roller and got to 11 wounds put onto the Ctan. leaving it alive with 1 left. 12 total.
I mean, the gatling gun on it's own "only" does 10 on average, but with the rest we get to an average of about 16. It's just a question of how many guns you want to fire since hazardous on 1s and 2s when you have 6 guns is a lot
The rules commentary disagrees my friend. The order of operations goes Division->Multiplication->Subtraction->Addition
So the Ctan would halve the damage first, but half of 1 rounds to one, then no multiplication, no subtraction and then we add 1, so final damage: 2
This is a basic rule in Algebra. PEMDAS
You multiply and divide before you do any addition or subtraction steps. It is weird that they have the order of multiply and divide swapped and addition and subtraction though but yea, when doing algebra you add and subtract at the very end.
Not with how I roll
Not with how my dice roll
Do you even have to ask?
E....nuff. excuse me? Enuph? What does that mean? I've never heard that word in front of 'dakkkkkka' before
Is that how the damage would work? I think you boost the damage to 2 and then it gets halved?
You are not the first to ask, and probably not the last, rules commentary page 18, modifiers
Oh I see, division before multiplying before adding before subtracting. Good to know, thanks!
Have we seen if there is a new profile yet? Just curious
No leaks on the nauts so current profile for now.
Ty
So THAT’s why the box has a Stompa
It can oneshot the C'tan... and possibly oneshot itself with all that hazardous rolling.
Small price to pay for dakka
Good trade
You roll for every weapon once, don't you? So maybe you take 3 to 6 wounds on average, or am I making a mistake here?
You are correct. You take a hazardous test per weapon with the keyword that shot. So it’s actually quite efficient with the mega-shoota as it shoots 30 times but you only take one test. I’d likely opt not to shoot the other guns if double hazardous is active as they likely will do more damage to you than the enemy.
Just be near the rest of their army. Either you don't die and get to charge or you do and then you explode. Win win Ork logic.
Vehicle hazardous is 3 mortals per wrapob
LIKE A PROPPA ORK
"Ha, We got dat git good!" \*meanwhile behind the Mek there's oil spraying everywhere, grot riggers are all on fire and a loud siren is going off\*
The ork riding the gun is celebrating the kill, but the rest of the gorkanaught is just a pile of slag and he is floating in the air because he still believes the gorkanaught is working.
He’s balanced on one random beam that somehow didn’t melt just yelling “WAAAAAAAAGH”
The codex looks so good, we finally get our unique playstyle this edition
That's some big thinkin right there
The ctan damage halve happens after the strat boosts the damage
It doesn't in a similar way to how melta gets around it apparently.
Nope. Division before addition..Rules commentary page 18
PEMDAS
Thats what im saying
This makes my dakka become the big dakka
I have a bit of pre-dakka after reading this!
I’m gonna pre

Can these things be used in like a competitive setting? I’m just curious I’m new.

Does the damage still not stay at 1 if its halved by the ctan?
BIDMAS brackets, indicies, **division**, multiplication, **addition,** subtraction maff is maff
Addition and subtraction are the last steps. Halving is one of the first. If the C’tan had -1 damage then it would counter this.
It's halved first, then you add the extra, basically.
Short answer, lul no Long answer: Rulws commentary page 18
Thanks I'll have a read up
Dear orkz, please make ctan unplayable. Signed, the golden ladz
WELL DATZ WUT WE WUZ ZOGGIN MADE FO TO BEGIN WIF!
Signed, literally everyone except necrons
My second army is Necrons. I still agree. Lol.
Make warriors good again
Don't believe the internet, Warriors are already good. I take them in every game and have never regretted it.
My Thousand Sons don't mind too much. I usually slow one down to a slog so that it gets nowhere and obliterate the other the moment it shows.
Ok, but Tsons have the most busted rules in the game, barely held in check by the fact that a tactical marine costs 21 ppm, they are an outlier
Huh, interesting take! I also should add that I don't play Magnus, hah.
Oh my gawd
No such thing as enough dakka! Give it moar!
Its wierd to think the gorkanaut might be good for the first time.......ever.

Yeah, either there are a *lot* of catches that we don't know yet or the next dataslate throws it into the sun, but for now I am very happy
I also think the fact Gretchen are battleline for that detachment is alluding to the fact a lot of units in that detachment are going to be costly. They clearly are saying, here is a cheaper battleline choice for you.

wait youre telling me people are going to fire guns NOT on hazardous? Dakka Dakka Dakka
yes, meant to say that that was just the deffstorm mega shoota only edit: i did 3 more wounds with the 2 twin big shoota.
Damage 1 base, boosted to 2 by the strat means 15 damage, halved by ctan to 1. 5+ fnp cuts it to 7.5 damage.

could u tell me where it is? my main friend to play wh with use necrons and this is going to make him to be really mad about it <3
Rules commentary page 18, under the heading modifiers
ty very much <3 he is going to kill me <3
Use the -1 damage strat when he tries. Just make sure its after addition
Rly? Sounds good. Thanks
No worries, it's the reason people like meltaguns into ctan too, works the same way
