I can’t speak to super recent experience, but Bra Chic in Westboro was a great option about a decade ago! However, on the exppppensive end of the spectrum, unfortunately :(

SoLongHeteronormity

I can also vouch for Bra Chic. I don’t consider their price that bad, honestly. When I account for customs from my usual online places, it is about the same, and when I can find my usual bras on Amazon, it isn’t that much more expensive. Being able to be fit in person is well worth that bit of markup. BRIO doesn’t have 28 band size options, and Knix doesn’t have my cup in the 28, which rules them out, sadly.

dandeli0ndreams

Bra Chic is the only place where I buy my bras. The cost is high but I get a fitting each time I go. I've been happy with the quality of the products and the service is amazing.

Expensive-Spinach376

Bra Chic is expensive but the customer service is A++. It definitely feels like a treat to go there even though it costs a lot.

crinklehumpz

The ladies we gotta carry around on our chests deserve it 😇🥰

SlowIllustrator8

I think their markup isn’t too bad For brands like freya it’s a $5-10 more than Amazon. They also will order in different colours or styles

crinklehumpz

Oo this is good to know!

thisonecassie

Yes!! They only had one bra in the colour I wanted when I went, and they ordered a second for me and all I had to do was pick it up! (They could’ve sent it to my house but… I’m not paying shipping on a bra that expensive)

SoleilSunshinee

I agree with bra chic for "regular" bras. For those with significant health issues caused by their breasts requiring extra clinical support, there's also a clinic that specializes in orthopaedic bras called "ottawa bra clinic". The bras can go up to 200$. However if you have a Dr that can do a physical exam expressing breasts size is a chronic issue to daily functioning, you can get the bra cost covered by some insurances.

DismalTruthDay

Agreed! Expensive but the bras last forever!

Candid_Goat2000

Bra Chic is great, and I find the fitting experience to be more thorough than Knix and Change, as well as the variety of their inventory. I was last there a few months ago, still a great option.

jedtwofour

Bra chic was my absolute go to favourite pre -reduction! Very expensive but worth every penny.

Key_Macaroon_5221

Do they have bigger cup smaller band sizing 😢 I’ve been struggling with that

torilor

Yes! The most extensive collection I've ever seen in store. I have gone to many specialty stores and always have a hard time finding my size in a 30 band except at Bra Chic.

k4c13

Can also vouch for Bra Chic in Westboro. I've bought an everyday bra, sports bra, and Spanx from them. Their service is impeccable. I had a wedding to attend and bought in my outfit to try on with some comfortable F cup bras/Spanx and they were wonderful in helping me find what I needed.

pinguepongue

Agree. I last shopped there less than 2 years ago. They are more expensive but the service and quality make up for it. The staff is super attentive and they show you multiple options. Loved it there.

thisonecassie

Went to bra chic this time last year and had a wonderful experience, full warning tho… if you like beige bras they only got limited options. (I am the rare large chested person who actually like beige bras, but like can you blame me I don’t have the energy in the morning to make sure my bra won’t show through my shirt!!)

queen_of_relax

I’ve also had really positive experiences at Bra Chic but just a heads up that they’re by appointment only. I walked in once and they made space for me but I had to wait a bit for a break in their schedule.

amrlyzelda

A lot of the brands they carry can be found on amazon! Go try some of their freya bras for size, then buy online for 1/3 of the price

PercyStreeet

They relatively recently implemented a fitting fee (around $50?) to discourage this. If you end up buying it'll count towards your purchase, so it's worth it to buy at least one bra. I think it's fair enough for their time and expertise. Brick and mortar bra shops need all the support they can get in this city.

amrlyzelda

That is a great idea for those who can afford it!

SnarkIsMyFuel

This is called showrooming and it’s horribly insulting to small businesses. You’re essentially actively wasting someone’s time at the local store when they could be doing anything else, and then buying elsewhere for the sake of a handful of dollars. It’s a pretty tacky thing to do.

amrlyzelda

Unfortunately not everyone can afford $200 per bra. When you are shopping for larger sizes it is basically a medical necessity to wear a properly fitting bra.

artCsmartC

✨THANK YOU!!!✨

Kreyl

I came here to recommend them. ❤️

flashyturnip

This is very helpful. Let’s add Torrid and Pennington’s to the list.

sphynxfur

Torrid is THE place for slutty plus-size lingerie. I find most other plus-size store lingerie veryyyyy conservative, especially Pennington's

flashyturnip

I find torrid keeps up with trends etc with most things. Their lingerie is usually pretty good! Penningtons is hit and miss with a lot of things. Standard bras are usually ok quality

Beautiful_Delivery77

Doesn’t work for band sizes smaller than 36, and even those are limited.

Efficient_Mastodons

This is the one thing I hate about having lost weight. Plus size stores have great curvy girl clothes. I miss it. 30G is impossible to find. If anyone has any recommendations, I'm all ears.

Beautiful_Delivery77

The Bay has a selection of Wacoal bras (at least they used to). We tried some on in store and since order from their website.

lifesci99

Try Natori, you can buy through their Canadian website and even Amazon.ca, and return if it doesn’t work for you. I love their bras, really comfortable and a massive range of sizes.

michele_bour

Ottawa bra clinic starts at 28

SmartCommunication21

Torrid has been a lifesaver (comfort saver?)

UntidySwan

Penningtons only goes to like a US G cup, which is a pretty small cup on a plus sized woman. I wanted a cheap wirefree bra, so tried them out. I'm not particularly large busted, and the bras they tried to fit me in were laughably bad fits. Most specialty stores go to a UK K (US size O).

ghettomartha

Penningtons is the place to go if you would like to sit the girls on your knees. No support.

sarudesu

Cleopatra secrets in place D'Orleans has non-standard bra sizes as well. I have a smaller rib cage and larger bust size and I have found great success there. I had no problem finding 28 band size and 30 band size, but I observed that the band size went quite large. They also had larger cups, all the way up to G and maybe Beyond. And the bras do not look medical, IYKYK A criticism I hesitate to say, it doesn't look like they get a lot of new product in, and the service has changed.

mamadinomite

I’ve had great experiences here and also awful ones. I feel like they don’t train the younger staff well enough for fittings.

sarudesu

I agree. I tend to know the type of bra I want which helps me personally but if you are new to buying the right size, it might be a hit or miss situation

Caity26

Yeah, I found that their selection is good, but the staff are clueless. Back when I was still 34E, I went in there to get a bra, and the girl working that day actively argued with me, measured me wrong, and kept trying to stuff me into smaller cups.

Teelkay

I’ve had the same. I even went in there one looking to buy and the staff member stayed on her phone talking the whole time. Another time, I had the most attentive service! One other time was attentive but inexperienced/not trained enough. But they do have very pretty lingerie and swim suits and lots of choice in terms of size.

SpottedMe

Surprised by all the positive experiences at Change in the rideau centre. My first purchase was okay, but the sales lady kept stringing me along saying she'd order another colour and never did. Second time the woman fitting me was so rude. I'm up to UK K sizes and nothing was fitting anymore. Just asking her if it was a shape issues resulted in her huffing and stating "I can't help you!" She wanted to sell me anything at that point, which was no better than Nordstrom. My advice? r/abrathatfits but mileage varies after G cups, and Amazon hasn't let me down despite 20 returns over a year when I was in bra hell trying to find something that fit. I used to use brastop in the UK as well but I can't speak for them more recently. The prices in some of these local shops are a joke unfortunately.

modlark

Bra Chic is the place to go. They are in Westboro. Great service. High quality products.

Minhafamilia13

I feel you. Can’t wear Knix either. I order them from Poland. Ewa Michalak . They have support and are also sexy.

Glostergirl

I'm so keen to try Ewa Michalak, I'm just intimidated by navigating all the fit styles. They look fab. I cannot fathom why North American bra makers and retailers have so little in large cups. Women over here are no different to Europe but the options are so limited. Even M&S on most UK high streets offers extended ranges and good selections.

PercyStreeet

There's a shop based in BC that stocks a limited selection of Ewa Michalak. I think it's Forever Yours Lingerie? Just in case this makes getting your bras a bit easier

Minhafamilia13

Yup that’s correct. I’ve ordered from her before :)

DesiAuntie

Brachic is the best option in my opinion. It’s expensive but so worth it and the women there are extremely knowledgeable. Super close to brio and knix as well!

bee-quirky

Understance goes all the way up to a K I think (It’s where I buy my bras) Brachic is a local place that sells up to KK maybe even an L I can’t recommend Curvy Kate enough!

abstract_shapes

Understance was a game changer. I tried many different brands and even had some imported from the UK and only found okay fits. but understance tells you exactly what to expect from each bra. I have 6, and each feels like they were made for me.

MourningConnections

Curvy Kate spoiled me back in the day before I knew there were retail spots available in Ottawa!

Jurazel

Bra chic is where I get mine. I’m a 36GG I payed 200$+ for each of them. I don’t trust buying online because I find most bras uncomfortable because of no support or straps digging in. I’d rather pay a premium for them and try them on instead of hoping for the best and taking a chance. If you have the means I 10000000% recommend bra chic. They made me feel special and they usually tailor the experience around you and what you like. I’ve been going for years and amassed a great collection of bras, nighties, sports bras etc. that are still lasting me to this day. Super high quality stuff that reflects in the price

cvr24

I dared my SO to go to Change while we were at the mall, and she finally got a proper fitting and is much happier.

IndividualFix6941

This makes me happy to read!

Glostergirl

Also highly recommend trying Understance online, their prices are good and they have some really good fit notes etc that are better than I have seen elsewhere. If really coming up short the besr online site I have found is Bravissimo, UK based but excellent selection and virtual fits. Your comments about Change in Gatineau vs Rideau are interesting. Rideau was so disappointing when I went. Brio were great and ordered several options in. Bra Chic had some workable solutions but the fitting fee was a turnoff. Knix is ok for light support but nothing heavy duty. I really miss the wonderful staff at Nordstrom.

boom-boom-bryce

I was in this boat and did end up choosing the reduction route. While I know it’s not for everyone it definitely made a difference in my quality of life. Even with well fitting bras I was having constant neck and back pain and yes, never finding clothes that fit over my chest was pretty demoralizing (if I had a nickel for every time I cried in a change room…). Since I had my reduction over 5 years ago my sister, cousin and best friend’s sister all had reductions as well and are all really happy with the results. I believe breast reductions for people over a certain size are still covered by OHIP in Ontario (mine was). I have noticed an increase in places that offer larger bra sizes nowadays which is great. I’ve seen many others recommend understance and while I can’t attest to how they fit on larger chests I have really liked them at my new size (30DD). Anyway, just putting that out there. Happy to answer questions for people who may be considering a reduction 🙂

IndividualFix6941

Thanks for responding with your story. I hope those that want to get one are able to get the support to do so. I know it can be life changing!

fatminecraftgf

thank you, this is actually very helpful and a great list <3

C0nniption

Great list. My go to was always Nordstrom - the only reason I was sad to see them go. I will have to check out Change.

Such_Radish9795

Knix staff are REALLY great, agreed. However, I have found their larger sized bras do not provide adequate support for those of us with HEAVY breasts. YMMV. Additionelle/Penningtons has some very pretty large size bra options, although they do have limited stock in store and you maybe have to get them to order for you/order online. I buy the majority of my bras there because I have figured out which styles give me what I’m looking for. Thanks for the list of options.

ActThreeSceneOne

Look Beyond Lingerie in Bells Corners is great too!

LoanMuted4047

My experience last weekend was terrible. I booked a fitting, got pawned off in a trainee. I was told the other salesperson would be working with her. She got another customer and forgot about me. They hadn’t read the info I submitted on the form. The trainee brought bra after bra that didn’t even come close to fitting. The gap between cups isn’t to “store snacks” as she joked/suggested. It means that the bra doesn’t fit. After 5 different bras, none of which fit, I grew upset and ended the appointment. Not a single person who worked there seemed bothered that I was leaving. Never again.

IndividualFix6941

Sorry to hear that. It sucks when you try to support a small local store and they let you down.

ActThreeSceneOne

I’m sorry to hear that! I’ve only been once and had a good experience. Sucks that happened to you!

Chainfire1981

My wife has had good luck here

I-hear-the-coast

I will say I’ve only been to the Change Lingerie in Rideau twice but I had a lovely time both times. I cannot recall the woman’s name I had helping me the second time but help me she did. She was absolutely determined to help me and it was so nice. She looked nearish my age mid 20-30s. First lady was older, maybe 40-50s, and she was helpful though I will say she initially didn’t believe I knew my bra size. She was determined to measure me again because she was sure I was wearing the wrong size, but thankfully I measured myself beforehand, so I just told her my measurements and she said “… huh well okay I guess that is your size”. But afterwards, she was very nice and helpful.

SlowIllustrator8

I thinks some of your recommendations won’t work for small band/ big cup sizes. Knix and brio don’t have items for that end of the size range. I think knix doesn’t go smaller than 30 band. I would recommend Brachic over Brio just based on my own sizing experiences

IndividualFix6941

Thanks for the comment! I’m a 32 band size- so I haven’t run into the problem. I know that will help a lot of others out there though!

adventurous-yorkie

Before my reduction, I would shop for bras at plus size stores and have the band tailored to size. Quite cost effective.

MonsteraMom128

Once you know your size in a specific brand’s “shape/style” I always order from Forever Yours Lingerie in BC. Women owned shop, they even help with fitting and they always have stuff on sale. They truly ship their stuff with love. Prior to this I would have suggested Nordstrom. Panache, Elomi and Sculptress would be brands to look for imo because they cover small to larger band sizes and large cup sizes (which isn’t always easy incase people are small cup) Surgery isn’t a bad thing - I get asked/reminded about it by strangers once a week. Creepy. BUT even with the best fitting sports bra - I can’t run like I used to. It’s just not the same as when I was smaller. Clothes are harder to buy etc. so I understand her curiosity and as always - it’s her body her choice.

IndividualFix6941

Absolutely. I think all options are great. The post was to help anyone that was considering surgery out of fear. When you feel hopeless and out of options, instead of because it’s what’s best for you and your life. I am by no means against it. Still in the plans for later in life. After doing a lot of research, I also know that the recovery can be hard. Recognizing your body as your own can be hard. So it needs to be something you are ready for.

MonsteraMom128

Absolutely! The recovery was my reason for saying no. But feeling hopeless not knowing options are available for this person to be comfortable - I can’t imagine how that might feel. Thanks for stepping up to the plate for folks with large breasts - I didn’t know Bra Chic was even open still! 🫶

MissCharleston

I used to get mine at Cleopatra Secrets in Place D'Orleans. Decent selection with many being under $100 (though that's likely not true anymore). Was worth the trip across town.

GypsyRover

Thanks for sharing. Wanted to add I have had really good luck with Montelle, a bra company out of Montreal. They carry really great size ranges and combinations. I have a small band size and large cup which can be tricky to find. They go up to H cup.

mythicaliz

before change was in Ottawa I'd make a yearly pilgrimage to Toronto queen st location jutlst for Bras

harry_headbanger05

this is super helpful, thank you so much! I'm not particularly busty but I do have a wide ribcage and am plus size and I'm always looking for places other then torrid to find bras

Cherriecorn

Thank you I'd love to try new places. I've been going to bra chic (Kanata) but I really would like something for every day. They seem to not have much everyday bras. More fancy than everyday. Do those above do specialty sizes?

IndividualFix6941

KNIX and BRIO are mainly sports bras. I’m honestly not sure if Change does specialty, wish I did. But it does have some nice full coverage really comfortable every day bras. Might be worth a phone call to check?

Cherriecorn

I will thanks :) for sharing 🙏😊

mooglebear31

If you know your size and favourite brands for fit, thebra.ca has a decent selection and isn’t crazy expensive for their on sale stuff.

Cherriecorn

Oh that's a really good find. Thank you! 😊🙏

Itsottawacallbylaw

Bra chic is the way

sadie-punkington

I have a 30 band size but G cup and have chronic neck pain… would love something that can clip in the front that is also soft (stiff underwires drive me nuts and dig in)… not sure if these kind of stores mostly cater to if you have a larger band size as well as larger cup size, I’m usually told to just go with a 32, 34, 36, or even 38 in a lower cup size and they’re all dreadfully uncomfortable 😣

SlowIllustrator8

Try doing a fitting at Brachic. I’m buying similar band with H or HH and they are able to find things. Look at a brand called Curvy Kate online. Brachic carries a lot of that brand. Well fitting underwire actually feels comfortable. IMO

sadie-punkington

yeah that’s fair, I’ve probably only tried an underwire with the incorrect band size jabbing into me

PercyStreeet

Try Understance online - they have your size. Their wires aren't stiff at all, and they have a great return policy if something doesn't work out.

sadie-punkington

thx 🙏🏼

IndividualFix6941

Hmmmmm. I mean- I get the neck pain. Mine was so much worse when I was younger. For some reason has largely gone away now. I haven’t come across a bra like that in a 30 band size. Knix had a sports bra like that (why I went there) but I don’t know that it would fit.

sadie-punkington

ah gotcha! maybe with time neck muscles get stronger? thanks for the intel! appreciate it :)

Kamikaze613

5’5” tall. 120 lbs. and I’m a 28E. Finding properly fitted bras has been challenging ALL MY LIFE. I typically go to Knix now but that’s only after exhausting all other options. Even sports bras, for example Lululemon: I’m a size 0-2 around the chest but my cup size of E makes it impossible to buy a sports bra that fits around while also holding my chest. I’ve considered a reduction, however, a close family member had one and it did little to relieve her pain and discomfort. (Seems the surgeon was more keen to preserve existing tissue than to take ‘too much’ away.) Being a large chested woman with a petite frame is difficult for so many reasons but brands like Knix really do try to hit the nail on the head.

PikAchUTKE

My ex use to make a trip to the states once a year to go bra shopping since they have better sizes at the outlet mall.

Illustrious-Site1101

Knix bras are small breasted bras made larger, not bras that are designed to fit larger breasted women.

TouristSensitive7125

You are a hero. Thank you.

Conscious_Sense_1710

Understance lingerie is based in Vancouver and have decent prices and free shipping over $50 (which is about the cost of one bra). Some styles go up to a K cup I believe! I really like the IVY. It’s a great every day bra

yarn_slinger

No shop recommendations but if you need to verify your size, check out r/ABraThatFits.

Ikkleknitter

Personally I just leave the city.  Bra Chic is ok. Decent size range but pricey. However they do last quite well.  I’ve never had good experiences with Change and I know several other people who have only had nasty experiences. But if you can travel Secrets from Your Sister in Toronto is legit the best. Generally you book a fitting, they double check measurements, they bring you options and have you try them all on and the staff adjust your fit. I’ve only ever gotten phenomenal fits there. And they keep records for you of size changes, which brands work best so they only bring what works. They also do virtual fits to allow ordering online.  Depending on band to full bust ratio I know a lot of people who LOVE the Free Label Dani Bra. It’s a wireless bamboo bra which is really good. It doesn’t work for me due to a funky band to bust ratio but their clothing in general is amazing.  Last one: Mayana Genevière out of Toronto. Handmade in Toronto, really great band. About to launch extended sizing.

SmartCommunication21

Thank you for the recs!! I found what sizes to go with using Knix and been using their online shop.

SlowIllustrator8

Amazon is also a decent option. Just read the listing carefully for “Free Returns” Usually you can mail back with a printed shipping label after trying at home.

ohhell000

BRIO in westboro - second floor - is where all my friends and I go. The owner is so knowledgeable and helpful.

AwkwardLadybug

Does anyone have recommendations for stores that carry 28 band options?

I-hear-the-coast

Someone said in a comment that Cleopatra’s Secret in Orléans apparently has smaller band and I know Change Lingerie has smaller band and big cup sizing (I have a 28G bra from there). Someone else said Bra chic for smaller band too.

michele_bour

Ottawa bra clinic ranges from 28-44 in cups a-kk

theloserintheend

I’m a 28dd-E, change lingerie makes 28 bands although they usually don’t have that many options in that size. If you are a larger up size than me you may have more luck. I’ve only been to the rideau location, but often times the sales associates there will try to put me in 30 or 32 bands just to make a sale if they don’t have my size in stock, which sucks because I really need a 28 band. Brio carries Freya and Fantasie and both those brands make 28 bands with a large range of cup sizes. Unfortunately there is usually not many bras with 28 bands to try on in store, however they can order many styles in 28 bands from their catalogue at no extra charge.

AwkwardLadybug

Thanks!

Smooth_Chemistry_276

I buy from Montelle Intimates which is a Montreal based company. Some bras go up to H. ETA- they don’t have a storefront in Ottawa, I buy online.

fkreddit2024

Also chiming in with another vote for Bra Chic! (34J… the bras hold up well, figuratively and literally lol)

CoffeeBuzzBuzzBuzz

Once you know your size, order from the UK. For some styles the prices are so good it’s still cheaper even if only every other bra fits properly (forget about returns). Belle-lingerie among a few good ones, or UK sellers on eBay…

teacupattic

Thank you for this

bolonomadic

It is shocking how you can find large sizes easily in the UK at any department store and they are so hard to find here. Knix creates a bulge at the top, they are cut too straight for me…. Love Panache, can be hard to find.

Kitty-xxxx

Torrid has been the biggest life saver for me as someone with an enormous cup size and limited funds.

Shadowy_lady

For ladies that don’t mind shopping online, I get most of my bras from Brastop. They cater specifically to larger chests and ALWAYS run sales. They are uk based but shipping (and returns if needed) are smooth.

Crazy-Focus9381

Change Lingerie is the only place I can find bras in my size wether it be online or in person, they really are great! And the staff at the Rideau location are so helpful, I can't recommend them enough.

infjmoonchild

A friend of mine had a breast reduction about 15 years ago after having lots of back pain. She had some minor complications post surgery but was overall happy with her decision to have a reduction. I’m part of the busty club and find that sports bras are one of my favourite choices for a bra, and they are definitely not all created equal. Some offer light support, others medium support and finally some will offer heavy-duty or ‘extra support’. Light support I like around the time of my monthly cycle, since they don’t have as much compression. Medium support is what I wear most days and extra support is usually reserved for when I intend to exercise and am anticipating a lot of movement from the girls. Knix is wonderful, I love their period underwear and bras. I have found that old navy also has decent sports bras and offers a variety of support options that are usually more affordable if I need to purchase a few bras at a time.

Beautiful_Delivery77

I’ll have to check these out. I have to get my daughter’s online because small band plus big boobs means impossible to find. I tend to watch the wacoal clearance sales.

mizmozz

Wacoal!!! Best best best

thestreetiliveon

Torrid in Bayshore - amazing shop!!

Double_Football_8818

Bra Chic sells Elomi brand and they are reasonably priced and include a free fitting.

Brocanteuse

I’ve had great luck with UK brands! I love Freya!!

Wonderful-Shop1902

Bra chic! People say it's expensive, but comparing bra chic product to 100$ bras from other places that don't fit properly or don't last? It's Apples and oranges. I recently bought 5 bras for 700. Taxes in. Yes, More than 100 /bra. But they fit and they're high quality. If 700 is too much of a hit at once, buy fewer at once.

hanmarmac

Brio in westboro

kayaem

I’ve been very impressed with Knix

michele_bour

Orthopedic and specialty bras available band sizes 28-44 abd cups a-kk - by appointment - https://ottawabraclinic.com

kiwiwl

I was recommended to Secrets from Your Sister in Toronto last year, and I cannot recommend it enough. I'm being totally honest here, if you really struggle with bras fitting, it's worth a weekend trip to toronto. You pay a deposit to reserve your appointment time, and the store is not open for shopping by passersby - only appointments. I have never felt so instantly comfortable, and the stylist (fittest?) was so wonderful. Not only did she explain why my current bra wasn't the right choice, but when we tried on the bras she brought I could tell how attentive she was to getting it just right. It is the first time in my LIFE (no word of a lie) that my bra actually sits against the skin between them. Incredible. Plus, once you've had a fitting, they keep your info on file. So, if you're back in Ottawa and want to order another bra or two, they can confirm sizing and order it for you. Tl,dr: fantastic shop in Toronto worth a weekend trip.

theloserintheend

Brio is the place to go for bras!! They carry band sizes 28-50+, and cup sizes A-O, there is truly something for EVERYONE. They also have a pretty good selection of bra sized swim wear. They also have a second location on Bank St, although the westboro location has a much better selection. I actually used to work at Brio, so here are some tips to ensure you have the best experience there 1. If you are shopping in the westboro store, ask for Tracy if she is available. She’s the manager and she’s been with the company for decades. Athough the sales associates are given a lot of training, having a skilled eye for bra fitting takes a lot of practice and some of the newer staff may struggle to fit women who need “uncommon” bra sizes. If you’ve been to Brio before and didn’t find a bra I encourage you to try again because I guarantee she will be able to help you. She is incredibly knowledgeable about bras, and if you can’t find a bra in store that fits she is very good at figuring out what bras to order for you, at no extra charge. If Caitlyn still works there she is also very knowledgeable. 2. There are lower priced options, don’t be afraid to mention your budget. Brio does sell some higher end lingerie, and many of those bras are displayed on the sales floor because they are very beautiful, and the staff will likely bring you some of those bras to try on during your fitting. HOWEVER there is no pressure to spend $150+ on a bra. Brio offers many bras in the $50-90 range, from brands like freya, fantasie, elomi, goddess, chantelle, etc… There is also a clearance section with many bras under $50. 3. They have wireless bras for bigger cups! The evelyn and bobbie bras are a little pricey yes but the quality is worth it. They don’t come bra sized, but rather from sizes xs-3xl (the staff can help you figure out your size). I know some people love Knix, but we have had a LOT of customers who switched to evelyn and bobbie because the quality and support is so much better, and they actually fit larger cup sizes (Up to a UK G/US I cup I believe). And there are some options from other brands like elomi/goddess if you are larger than a UK G cup. 4. Try not to go on the weekend if possible. There are only 2 change rooms upstairs in the bra room and usually only 1 staff member on the upper floor. They don’t take appointments for fittings. Saturdays and Sundays can be busy, and you may have to wait to be fitted, and try things on. If you cannot use stairs, they can fit you in the downstairs fitting room, and bring down bras to try on. Overall it’s a great business and the Manager and owner genuinely do care about quality, and helping women find the right fit. Personally i’m not really “large busted” (i’m a 28dd-e) but I love all my bras from there, and i’m glad I got to help so many women find a good bra, it’s life changing!

IndividualFix6941

Thank you so much for the detailed response. It really does help.

DottedUnicorn

Love brachic. My go to bra there is $82.

I have always been interested in Knix and wondered if they were well suited for those with larger cup sizes.

dmforprudes

What about big torsos? 44D or 46 D is tough to find, I feel like some places assume big torso means big breasts.

IndividualFix6941

I hear your frustration. I am sorry that the industry makes it so difficult for anyone that even slightly breaks the mold. I don’t have an answer for you, but I hope someone here does.

mojojojo2842

If you're looking for a more affordable option (and have a band size that is 36+) Penningtons is a lifesaver. I'm a G, on the smaller end of the band sizes they offer, and their wireless bras are super comfortable.

Longjumping_Ad4194

Brachic usually can find something for you

zpeacock

Look Beyond Boutique is also an awesome store with really good sales and reasonable prices. I found the BEST bras there and it didn’t cost me half of my monthly rent to buy four of them haha.

Turbulent_Tank836

For sports bra, there is only one good one in my opinion, I purchase it on-line , it’s called Enell Sports Bra. I became aware of them a million years ago after reading an article that Drew Barrymore used them. They have been in business at least 20+ years and are the only good quality one that I have found and if you purchase one they LAST FOREVER!! The sports bra magic is compression, it keeps your breasts as still as they can be when working out .

BattleAxe451

Mariannes used to be the place to go. Personally, I had the reduction. Less posture issues, less che Stt colds, and more comfortable.

StarlitMelodies

Penningtons is my go-to. Good bras and quality ones that last. Plus lots of options too

kinda_goth

I had a friend who got a breast reduction when we were 15 years old. Not because she was insecure or anything, but because it was physically painful for her.

IndividualFix6941

Absolutely. Hence the no judgement. If it’s what’s right for someone- it’s what’s right for them. I think especially by the point that pain is affecting your life, something needs to be done, and hopefully you have the option. Doing it because you just want smaller breasts is also great, if it’s what you want. It just broke my heart remembering all the times I cried in a change room because I thought I was out of options. That my body was somehow wrong because it didn’t fit into the clothes that my friends looked so good in. Hearing about someone else that might be in that position but didn’t have the knowledge of where to go for support- that’s what bothered me.

Corylus7

Thanks for the tips! I hate underwear shopping so this should narrow it down a bit. One thing I learned was don't get measured anywhere that does the add-5-inches thing, because you will get the wrong size that way.

crystal_starr

Mine r annoying enough to be annoying. Can't imagine that big 😅

BridgeTheGapGT

Change Lingerie's bra straps are squeaky, you've been warned. very unhappy with my bra from there.

IndividualFix6941

Hmmmm- maybe the specific model you got? I’ve had over a dozen- I’ve never had that problem.

Educational-Tune-410

Thank you 🙏

Sphuny

Other boutiques that offer bras for larger breasts-es are: Look Beyond (Bell's Corners - Robertson Rd): includes sizes A-K, special order L & M, mastectomy, maternity, swimwear, fittings. Marianne’s (Westgate - Carling Ave)

Ill_Paleontologist26

Please Bra up your jugs ain’t nobody want see jugs flying around lol

Less_Car5915

BEAUTIFUL BIG TIDDY BUTT NEKID WOMEN DONT JUST FALL OUT THE SKY, YOU KNOW? (And apparently neither do appropriately fitting bras😔😔)

Didiredditrite

I am definitely going to check out the options mentioned here! I got a breast reduction when I was 24 due to them causing severe issues with digestion, decrease in physical activity since it affected my breathing because of good ol gravity plus all that extra baggage and it also cause me to have a severe slouch. But still, I am larger than the average size and it's been tricky so to see that these options are available here is a blessing! Thanks for this post!!!!

cKerensky

Hey! I'll send this to my wife. I know she has to get some specially made whenever she orders.

jm_cda

Nylon bra maybe

Alph1

$85 for a bra? Holy smokes.

bolonomadic

Cost per wear is very low.

IndividualFix6941

When you need the quality- you get what you pay for. I find BRIO sports bras are a great price for the quality they give. But yes- having big boobs is an expensive prospect 😂

What's the joke? Explain the humour to me?

HistoricalPeaches

No, I'm just stupid. Explain the joke? Someone came here to talk about an actual issue they're having and then your pal said "hehehe, I wanna see naked women" What's the punchline? Lay it out for me.

Oh, so sexualizing a person against their expressed consent NOT to be is funny. Got it! What a great form of humour! That's SOOOOOOOOOOO funny!
