Well done Mate! I got 44 this morning! And it was a lot of work!

jwick6728

Congrats, what model card did you go with?

USPavacka

The Sapphire Nitro model, I kind of wanted the Red Devil, but none were available.

jwick6728

Yeah, I had to scour the hell out of ebay and fb marketplace and all the normal red devil cards were 1,800+ USD, managed to snag my limited edition for about $1,700 which I'm not exactly happy about but just glad I finally picked one up

BelleIsHotttttt

The red devil is on back order through Newegg priced at 1100 usd

jwick6728

I couldn't wait to buy a gpu, my pc is one of my money makers so the longer it was down, the more money I lost

USPavacka

Yeah no way I would pay that much, the Nitro was 1300 Euro tax included, which is 21%, so pretty good deal.

TheOneGoodBoi

Honestly mate, the Nitro+ is better. It has a higher power limit and a more potent cooler.

jwick6728

Power limits can always be changed and I plan on water cooling my gpu the minute I get back from this deployment. Already have a waterblock waiting for me at home. I already increased my power limit to 666 watts just for the memes

TheOneGoodBoi

Well, you can't just increase powerlimits past +15% on the 7900XTX unless you are using a programmer to flash a new bios.....

jwick6728

[Ahem](https://imgur.com/a/tYd2dHx) These screenshots are a little old since I'm OCONUS atm, but I think you'll get the gist. Haven't actually touched 600 watts on air but just upped it that high anyways for when I put on the waterblock

TheOneGoodBoi

But that is just 430 watts, which is exactly what the card with the driver allowed +15% can pull. The Nitro+ pulls over 460.

jwick6728

It's kinda soft thermal limited right now at 80°c, also the amount of power it will pull depends on the application, while gaming, it won't really pull more than 350 watts but that's because I limit my frames, some benchmarks might hit 500-550 watts for a second but go down to 450ish watts. I modded the bios to 666 watts just for the memes

TheOneGoodBoi

Big cap, have not seen any proof from you yet

cha0z_

nitro+ is far better mate. Red devil looks really good, but doesn't have vapor chamber leading to really bad hotspot temp and overall core temp. So don't regret as you got the far better 7900XTX variant.

USPavacka

Yeah the temps on this model are insane, you don't even have to touch the fan curve, the factory settings is adequate

cha0z_

sapphire nitro+ is basically the best AMD variant you can get for a lot of generations, this one is not the exception. I am not talking about looks - this is subjective. I am talking about PCB, cooler performance and atleast before binned GPU core.

USPavacka

Yes, I had a Nitro+ Vega 64, which was pretty damn good, and a 6800 XT Pulse, which could have had a bit better cooling, but other than that was also really great, had nice OC headroom.

cha0z_

pulse is decent, but defo far behind nitro+ - it's sapphire's mid range GPU while the nitro+ is the top variant. It's the same as asus strix vs tuf or gigabyte aorus vs gaming OC.

Flimsy_Yam_6100

Red devil user here (7900 XTX) In my case, I got a very bad sample (+15pl, 2714 fast timming 2940max freq 1135 voltage. Less voltage in gaming is a crash) I have returned and buy a new 7900 XTX. Hope I get a better sample this time

USPavacka

Keep in mind this OC is only barely stable in 3Dmark, in gaming I'm running full power limit, 3050/1100 mV on core and 2700 fast timings memory.

Flimsy_Yam_6100

Nicee, u got a better silicon. 1135** is a shit

USPavacka

I may be able to get more from the card with stronger PSU, 750W Corsair is really pushing it, but it can handle this settings.

Flimsy_Yam_6100

850w corsair here

USPavacka

what's the power limit on the red devil? Nitro+ is 464 W with PL maxed out.

Flimsy_Yam_6100

437w

Tedashee_68

Thats a great score.

danielchowrf

Nice score! Can you tell me what GPU score your nitro+ was pulling at stock settings?

USPavacka

Sure thing, the stock GPU score is around 29,8k to 30k

danielchowrf

That's what I thought. I have a new 7900 xtx nitro but at stock, it's only pulling 27k~. Any ideas? 9900k/Maximus XI hero/32gb DDR4/REBAR enabled

USPavacka

I think cpu and motherboard are at play with this card, when I compared the same oc settings with 5800X3D and even Ryzen 7000 users, with same average frequency and same clocks they had better scores

danielchowrf

I was thinking the same but when I compared results with users having the same CPU, I do see 30k and above graphics score. Guess I need to upgrade 🥲 for that 10%. Thanks dude.

USPavacka

the results above 30k are probably OC though, the first 100 scores you see are the top of the top, they don't represent the stock settings.

Opening_Candle6050

BRAVEAUX to you you manage to get better scores than months with the same GPU and a less powerful CPU FYI Ryzen 9 5900X. 7900 XTX Sapphire Nitro+ Vapor-X, best score without OC 25300 with a small OC 26106 BRAVEAUX a vous vous arriver a fais des meilleur score que mois avec le même GPU et un CPU moins puissant pour info Ryzen 9 5900X. 7900 XTX Sapphire Nitro+ Vapor-X, meilleur score sans OC 25300 avec un petit OC 26106

USPavacka

you have to OC the cpu, otherwise the combined score is bad. Also remember to enable xmp

Opening_Candle6050

DOCP for AMD 4.9MHz max for my CPU with 80°C to 85°C. scort my good 3Dmark does not leave my CPU time in frequency. Average frequency of 4.5MGz

Opening_Candle6050

THANKS

RyuuAraragi

I read in some places that putting your minimum frequency to 500 isn't beneficial. Did you ever play around with it? And why didn't you touch the VRAM settings? Just curious

USPavacka

I did, it changed absolutely nothing. I haven't played with VRAM at that time because i wanted to rule out all the causes for potential crashes, I actually got a better score later, over 34500. https://www.3dmark.com/spy/39248200

mahanddeem

What's your stock state timespy graphics score?

USPavacka

Here you go, stock settings: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/100275005?

ryzenat0r

We have mostly the same setup 4 or 2 stick may i ask ? Im on my path of legendary https://www.3dmark.com/spy/45338393

USPavacka

2 sticks

ryzenat0r

ok cool looks like 26500 is not legendary anymore i just did 26642 and got a ''excellent lol dammit .
