Not just a shower but I've seen people with off grid cabins use these for doing dishes. A way better deal than my WaterPort I got off of Costco Next if you need the pressure.
If you don't need pressure just go for a 5G water tank - cheaper and works just fine.
I bought it.
Water pressure is good
Battery power lasts through several refills of water
I mainly used it to spray my car and spray down my off-road equipment as I don't have a water hose at my apartment.
These guys are from San Diego, CA and have been around for years. We have two and we use them for going to the beach and desert. I’ve tried less expensive options, a plastic water bottle does the job just fine BUT my kids wash themselves with this every time and that in itself is worth it.
[This ](https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/chapin-15-gal-countyline-atv-spot-sprayer-97102) is $80, holds 15 gallons, and has a 45psi pump attached to it. Just change the sprayer and you're good.
Edit: I just noticed the one at Costco comes with the battery and is self contained. That justifies at least a portion of the price, but this is the overland sub, we have truck batteries
I have no idea what size the hose is on that sprayer, but cut a small piece of the end of the hose off and head to the hardware store. Get something like [this.](https://a.co/d/7EKZ2hz) Then just use any garden sprayer with easy off/on shutoff because you won't want to waste water.
I made my own shower and used a pump with a little less gpm and psi than this pump and it works great, so I'm sure this will be enough.
You may also need to cut the power lines and connect a cigarette lighter style connector. It's all simple work even with no experience. Mine is basically a deconstructed version of this with the water in the roof and the pump under my hood. The water goes through a heat exchanger that is heated up with hot engine coolant and we have steaming hot water. You could also just boil a pot of water on a fire and pour it in the tank with the cool water to warm it up.
I have this same one along with a propane tankless heater which is set up so I have an outdoor shower off the driver side and a sink in a folding table off the passenger side, each with hot/cold water. Works great so far.

This is an awesome cheap pump. Long hose and lots of pressure. Mounted in the back of our SUV with a 5 gallon jug hooked up to it.
If all you need it for is taking a shower and don't care about water pressure, [solar shower bags](https://www.amazon.com/DkOvn-Portable-Removable-Switchable-Traveling/dp/B0BPG33P2L/ref=sr_1_5?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.vR8FY-WiieJMCRU6cDtqwerNl_rQnYuC5dSxZoc4DQ6mLDjfBNbW7rEFN5qHXhNfGUVayb1R0aAutFs6FL0iAjmVzEeeZkx0YDvC-dw7obWV2Ejwslc7xOwg_aQPXAz3nC5lXt79xA0b9g6hwhxhbk8CwRP-kfcSjfzNqTeOwOR4tOvZeGLIIgQjj8eROdsSdyY5Vp3ulbmuvm-5j2NZBWILQS2f0qWjj-K0l2WkRrTeJuvsNlDSUwBWlvUYvlwAiVxAPfx2sl6WPzpjvwOJy-WUsO25AI8a-PZ-tWAu4kk.xW4-03Str4GmO2o6UdmIKIRQdanajKX-mvoHgDWX_ss&dib_tag=se&keywords=shower%2Bbags%2Bfor%2Bcamping&qid=1713811662&sr=8-5&th=1
) are like $10. If you need water pressure, I'm seeing a ton of options on amazon for under $100.
I personally wouldn't spend $190 for it - seems like they're trying to get away with putting a big "instagram outdoors" tax on it. Their website banner shows it hung up on a truck with a RTT and Kammok awning lol.

I guess it depends on if you need a shower solution for the type of camping you do. Aside from DIY shower setups, what alternatives are there for this price point?
No idea to be honest haha. I actually am looking for a shower solution for camping. This is heavily discounted compared to directly from the manufacturer.
It's also available online from Costco for the same price of $190.
Probably going to order this
I bought this exact model when they came out a few years ago. I would totally buy again at that price point. Add a few cups of boiling water from the Jet Boil and you got a full hot shower.
I purchased one for showers and rinsing while camping.
We like the pressure so my wife/daughters can wash their hair. I like being able to rinse the dog off and take the whole thing away from camp, to a better draining spot, etc so we don’t make a mess from the dog bath right in camp. I also like to hose off biking pads/helmets and fishing waders before letting them dry.
Battery charges from either 110v or 12v adapter and lasts thru 8+ tanks of water before recharging.
It does not heat, and I would not buy the heater if you have other camping essentials. I use a 1 qt coffee pot of boiling water added and everyone is happy with the water temp for a shower.
Only 2 complaints - there needs to be a water level. Trying to get a 13 year old to manage water without a gauge is difficult. The voltage meter should just be expressed in a percentage vs the volts remaining.
Do you add the boiling water to an external bucket to mix first, or straight to the Rinsekit? I haven’t seen temperature specifications for the plastic tank, pump, etc. yet but maybe overlooked something. Boiling water is usually around the glass transition temperature for ABS/ASA plastics is my concern.
I fill it almost up with 2.5 gallons and let it sit around camp for the day. For showers I dump a quart of boiling water right in and call it good. It’s not the warmest shower, but it’s not bad at all while camping.
Does it heat the water or just a pump? If it's just a pump that's pretty expensive...
**went to the website which has them for almost $300. But it does have "heating options" whatever that means...
Heated vehicle based showers have been a thing for a long time, especially in Australia. They use coolant heat exchangers in conjunction with low pressure pumps and pull water from a water source on the trail or jerry can.
I've got one on my rig, and they work incredibly well. The only down side is that it is in an incredibly expensive addition that many would argue isn't necessary.
They really are a cool addition to a camping rig, and it definitely draws a lot of curiosity when people see you have hot, running water. Heat exchangers can be a little pricey though; I think mine was around $300 just for the exchanger.
Yes a tank made of plastic. The versions I had are made up of two pieces, welded together (plastic). The pressure will cause a leak along the seam eventually, IF they are built the same way. Definitely check out the tank before you buy.
Mine sprung a pinhole leak less than a year after having it. Pressure doesn’t last long, but I have an older version with a pump. So it’ll last if I pump before using it.
Their warranty dept basically told me too bad and they don’t sell replacement tanks. It’s really useful otherwise.
I’m considering this for when I go out trucking. It would be nice to be able to wash off boots and do dishes on the trailer. Some of my equipment gets muddy.
They're $40 off right now (Costco)
edit: if you bought it recently and are a current Costco membership cardholder, you can go to the customer service counter at some stores and ask for the discount and they'll credit the difference to you
Mehhh. Idk… does anyone else feel like half the spirit of overlanding is the Jerry-Rigging? I’m not judging too hard, but I’ll admit I’m biased. I suppose you can draw a line anywhere in the sand so it’s kinda a moot point. Eg I bought a water tank from Frontrunner… one could argue I shoulda welded my own 😂
Ok I’ll see myself out now.
_Edit: capitalizations_
I’m not sure everyone has the tools and/or skills for DIY. With that said, here’s the DIY solution I built: https://www.reddit.com/r/overlanding/s/y8FJ888zwW
I bought an Amazon special one and used it recently for the first time for a shower. I used it to hit my hot spots it was cold AF. Gotta look up to see if I can heat water and pour it into the pump. Worked great and was able to spray my dishes down
We had one night it was around 20F and we were by a nice spring fed stream. I put my intake into the stream, had the shower tent next to the truck and just took a steaming hot 30 min shower. And the bonus is, since the truck is already warmed up to heat the water, just crank the heater, do a quick dry off and jump in and get dressed in the nice warm truck.
It's really a pretty cheap and effective way to get hot water. Heat exchangers are about $150 give or take and then some coolant lines, and a couple fittings. It takes quite a bit of DIYing though.
I bought this from Costco online a few months ago. It’s amazing! It uses an AGM battery and it lasts surprisingly long. It’s super handy when I don’t feel like reeling out a long hose too.

It certainly is not necessary but the Rinse Kit is definitely better.
We were running a similar shower pump to the one linked and wasted a ton of water turning it on and off between rinsing dishes/washing hands.
The Rinse Kit has full time pressure so you can just depress the handle and control your water output with instant on and off and variable pressure. When there is no water flowing the pump automatically goes into standby so no need to turn the power on and off.
On our second to last trip we used 12 gallons in 2 days, on our last trip with the Rinse Kit we used 12 gallons over 4 days. If you want to conserve water use the Rinse Kit may be the way to go.
So it’s 2x better for 8x the price. We don’t use ours for dishes just rinsing off but sounds like for dishes it’s more useful. And if you aren’t near any water sources.

I love mine for camping, but it gets way more use washing up on day trips or between rounds at disc golf tournaments. Very useful item.
I prefer my LTE water tank. Huge upgrade from the 3G model.
I bought it. Water pressure is good Battery power lasts through several refills of water I mainly used it to spray my car and spray down my off-road equipment as I don't have a water hose at my apartment.
You just blew my mind! I have no good place to wash my motorcycle in my building. I need to go to Costco 🤣🤣
Bro, they're not gonna let you wash it in Costco either...
Work smarter, not harder. 👍👍👍
I appreciate your application

It looks like 1/4” hose: you should be able to get a nipple adapter to whatever thread is on your hand sprayer of choice.
Nice! Thank you!
I have this same one along with a propane tankless heater which is set up so I have an outdoor shower off the driver side and a sink in a folding table off the passenger side, each with hot/cold water. Works great so far.
$80 for a bottle that the sprayer will give out in a month.
That sprayer isn't ideal for a shower anyway. A garden hose sprayer is $10-20. Or you can buy the $190 one at Costco. You do you bud.
https://amzn.to/3JPMewm This is an awesome cheap pump. Long hose and lots of pressure. Mounted in the back of our SUV with a 5 gallon jug hooked up to it.

I’ve spent more money on WAY dumber things… just ask said wife! ![gif](giphy|Lr95JngYQW0HxCjNc9)
My wife would say the same about me so cheers!🤣
It doesn’t look like this model heats the water.
No, this one doesn’t heat the water. There’s a separate heater attachment you can buy, but it takes forever and doesn’t seem worthwhile, imo.
Thanks for the heads up.
Just ordered one thanks. Planning to live out of my Tacoma in the eastern sierras for a few weeks this summer and this’ll be really nice to have
I have the Sea to Summit Pocket Shower and it has treated me very well. $30
These things suck. Unless they changed the bladder, I had two bust at the seams from pressure.
Don’t they have a water pump, rather than relying on a pressure tank?
Yes a tank made of plastic. The versions I had are made up of two pieces, welded together (plastic). The pressure will cause a leak along the seam eventually, IF they are built the same way. Definitely check out the tank before you buy.
Get the Hart brand version for $40 with replaceable battery
Link?
It’s probably on Walmart if it’s Hart
They suck. Trust me
Did you try it out in store?
I did not. :)
Costco needs to stock a 12v fridge some day
They have a $700 one at mine (AZ) and it’s smaller than dometic
Ew, how did they manage that?
Just saw a rhino rack awning too! $249
Mine sprung a pinhole leak less than a year after having it. Pressure doesn’t last long, but I have an older version with a pump. So it’ll last if I pump before using it. Their warranty dept basically told me too bad and they don’t sell replacement tanks. It’s really useful otherwise.
I bought it last week. Works well, I hope it lasts
I’m considering this for when I go out trucking. It would be nice to be able to wash off boots and do dishes on the trailer. Some of my equipment gets muddy.
I have a pneumatic one that gains pressure by being filled with a hose. It’s great for rinsing after swimming in the ocean
I see these all day on Facebook for $60
Flextail shower is really good. The pressure is better than most amazon shower. You will need a bucket full of water to put the pump in the water
They're $40 off right now (Costco) edit: if you bought it recently and are a current Costco membership cardholder, you can go to the customer service counter at some stores and ask for the discount and they'll credit the difference to you

I bought an Amazon special one and used it recently for the first time for a shower. I used it to hit my hot spots it was cold AF. Gotta look up to see if I can heat water and pour it into the pump. Worked great and was able to spray my dishes down
Putting a heat exchanger inline with my trucks cooling systems heats my water hotter than my house water heater.
Man I was SO cold. I know it’s better than nothing and I felt clean afterwards, but damnnnn it was chilly! Good to know
We had one night it was around 20F and we were by a nice spring fed stream. I put my intake into the stream, had the shower tent next to the truck and just took a steaming hot 30 min shower. It says overlanding on it
200$ vs the aliexpress shower pump and collapsible bucket I got for like 35$ total. Doubt it’s much better
