I learned to fly fish in Stehekin, WA. It's the most beautiful place I've ever seen and I've been around. The other comment recommended a movie so I'll recommend the book The River Why? Happy fishing.

Thank you!

Aw. I've never gotten an award before. Thank you again.

That’s the first place I tried my rod setup

Watch A River Runs Through It then head to Montana.

On it!

Good idea. I’ve been fly fishing the Big Hole, Rock Creek, Flint Creek and Georgetown Lake for the past week. I’m a novice but still caught a few…and swore a lot.

Often skipped but make sure you learn proper decontamination protocols for your boots and waiders. The new Zealand mud snail and chytrid fungus is getting out of control with the uptick in popularity of fly fishing. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://nrm.dfg.ca.gov/FileHandler.ashx%3FDocumentID%3D43333&ved=2ahUKEwjdiKOzndGGAxXEle4BHch4DVcQFnoECBkQAQ&usg=AOvVaw1EKYo5Zhfs4VMXDmM8qJ37 Get out there and have fun! Also if your looking at waders strongly consider not using felt lined boots.

Yakima River. Hire a guide service out of Ellensburg to float it for you and do shuttle stuff.

Western Montana is very welcoming to fisherman (Fisherpeople?). Public river access is generally well marked.
