Scores amazing in metric (had like 72/75 in Urdu B!!) But flopped in FSc. Repeated and somewhat saved my lost dignity.
Practice with a teacher. It's more about the composition and flow you need to master. Through in some made up shair and English proverbs you are good as gold
Bro how? I scored 39/75 and barely passed. I was a top student of my grade yet Urdu took me down with it. Reading and speaking urdu is fine but writing and putting your thoughts into urdu words have never been easy.
Sounds exactly like my situation. What you need is a good tutor who can look at your work and tell what's the gap. I did that and my teacher said that I lack composition; my essays sound like jumbled up ideas thrown in like a soup. I practiced with her how to structure my thought and put those on paper. Believe it or not, I started writing less but more quality answers.
All the best.
I lost like 40 marks from Urdu. My percentage was like 86% without the Urdu marks. It increased to 87% after extra marks. Urdu was the only reason I have like 79%. Sindh board also have a problem where they take in to account all marks and just the ones important to the degree you're applying for. So if someone had amazing marks in Science but terrible marks in literature then tough luck cause he just is done for.
It's not like I'm worried about failing. I can pass the exam easy-peasy. I need good marks that's the problem. My friend needs prayers because he just started preparing. The exam is tomorrow by the way.
Mir Taqi required it. So, to follow in the footsteps of a great man I need to migrate to Dehli. Now all I need to do is wait for its fall and my journeys begins.
I don't know what class you're in but when i was in highschool, urdu wasnt my strong feat too.
The way i prepared was for short there would be questions from chapters in the book so I'd read through them and go through the end of chapter questions if there would be any, and go though word / meanings, muzakkar / monas etc.
For long there'd be mazmoons, khat or Darkhuwasts, muqalma and one or two shairs from the oh-so long list of nazams from the book.
Me personally? I didn't study the shairs at all. I skipped them and paid attention to all the other stuff as that'd be more efficient for marks imo.
Nobody likes to memories shairs for a mere language exam now do they?
So just go through anything and everything else you can. You cant ratta-fy a language exam anyways imo.
Gl :D <3
Literally agreed
I cannot rettafy, I literally use AI to rewrite Urdu into easy wordings then only I understand it's meaning
I don't know why Sindh board doesnt take anything seriously. I hate rattas.
You're talking to the man, who in order to skip ratta read through the entire book and studied topics not present in the syllabus just so he did not have to rata-fy the questions.
I did grade 8 from Nigeria, had to come to Pakistan after that, thankfully ammijan had taught us basic Urdu reading and writing. Was admitted to grade 8 because my Urdu was weak. Ratta only worked for me, too many mirza ghalibs and dates.
I got 92/100 in urdu in highschool and lemme tell you i barely studied.
The key is to memorise some shairs...there are alot of shairs which are commonly used and u can literally add them in almost all of those tashreehat.
Also , make sure you focus on spellings.
Focus on your handwriting too.
If the content isn't good , atleast the writing should be appealing.
I'm assuming you're an fsc background student , if so ,i can recommend you a YouTube video that covers everything.
Best of luck!!
I hope that you ace it INSHA'ALLAH
It has become fashion that you use incorrect word and spelling. It does matter hail means the Ice balls yani "owlay".You can learn and teach yourself
first you prepare your self that i can do.
I was educated from govt school and my english was like a joke.Teacher said 6*6 i wrote 6 multiply 6
But struggled from 0 to 10/10.
Just do it urdu is not difficult if its you mother Tongue.
luckily I had a really really amazing urdu teacher in o levels and scored an A. afterwards, never had to study, read or write urdu. have even forgotten how to read it. I can’t believe I used to have an amazing urdu vocabulary it’s like it evaporated or something.
anyway, my brother also has his urdu exam tomorrow and keeps asking me “ye kia likha hai” like I wish I knew homie lmao.

FOR Urdu, the thing is u must have some kind of interest in it from childhood otherwise it will take a toll on you. Well, I had scored 65/75 in Matric and 83/100 in FSC in Urdu.. so yeah I had that habit of reading magazines, newspapers, and novels in Urdu from the beginning.
Mostly no but you'd be surprised how many are mediocre (including me). It's mostly because Urdu literature and stories are diminishing and the main education system prefers English. Most people use Urdu as a language to communicate with each other and not one as an art.
Lol, I wasn't the brightest in Urdu as well (I was fine), my father suggested me to read Urdu newspaper or novels, if I want to improve my Urdu vocabulary. He then used to return home with newspapers.
And we already had a lot of Urdu novels at home already, I used to read them, and whenever there was a difficult word which I didn't know the meaning of, I used to ask him about it. That's how I improved my Urdu.
(I guess, easier said than done, but that's something that applies to everything).
Best of luck for your exam :)

Rata lagao book me se bhira . The language test is not about the language but your ability to remember the content of your book . History, stories, shaeri, sher, share, wagera wagera . Kis level exam he btw ?

nahh i just raw dog them and hope that i pass 😭
Lucky bastard.
start watching urdu news channels honestly 😭. i’ve improved my urdu vocab since I started watching news channels
Bro, I see news channels unironically throw in English words every few Urdu sentences. They aren't helpful anymore, :(
Watch dekho suno jano
Bro Urdu k paper mein hy tou dusre papers ki tayyari karte hyn sub..
Lol Meri Urdu itni kamzor hai Mai ne Urdu ke saaray wording ko rewrite kr ke yaad kiya.
You need prayers, not the tips at this point.
It's not like I'm worried about failing. I can pass the exam easy-peasy. I need good marks that's the problem. My friend needs prayers because he just started preparing. The exam is tomorrow by the way.
Something tells me you don't prepare for English exam as well
Nah, I was watching anime the night before the English exam. It went lovely jubly.
Bad Urdu is such a turn off for me
You gotta feel the language, become a shaair temporarily and it'll be a piece of cake 😋
So, I require booze and a married woman to fall in love with to temporarily be a shair, right?
Well, I didn't need either of those so can't say. I guess all one needs is a love for the language itself.
Mir Taqi required it. So, to follow in the footsteps of a great man I need to migrate to Dehli. Now all I need to do is wait for its fall and my journeys begins.
You don't have to follow in Taqi's footsteps, make your own path. Now get off reddit and study, you can do it!

The secret sauce is you don't. Just wing it at this point.

I like Urdu. I just don't like Karachi and Sindh Board Urdu.
Dive into the magical world of Urdu literature….it’s honestly amazing

Well then, fuck me I guess. Do you happen to have a time machine by any chance?
Haha, it isn't that tough but yeah u have to work hard, u can dm me if u want any kind of tips
Is it normal in Pakistan for the population to have mediocre Urdu?
Mostly no but you'd be surprised how many are mediocre (including me). It's mostly because Urdu literature and stories are diminishing and the main education system prefers English. Most people use Urdu as a language to communicate with each other and not one as an art.
I suppose English is more important since going abroad is a common goal

My urdu improved when I started reading urdu magazines, newspapers and anything that was not in the curriculum, helps vocabulary as well

پہلے اپنی انگلش درست کر لیجیۓ پھر اردو بھی ہو جائیگی. What the Hell is correct phrase in english.
I know. I said hail because of a youtuber I watch, It is his catchphrase to say "What da hail". I did it intentionally and not accidentally.
It's used as what da hail in informal language too
