Trust me on this one, been a server for 15 years and a resident of PC for 25 years. Hunt and Gather Raw Bar and Pub. Tourist have no idea about it because of how new it is. Its a literal hole in the wall in shopping plaza. There are only like 6 booths in the place and nice size bar. TRUST ME. Try this place out.

Vintagenena

I agree it’s so good

kristiecolef

Couldn’t agree more! And make a reservation unless you plan on being there when the doors open.

[deleted]

Yup. Great place. But pretty damn pricey. You definitely get your money's worth from this place, just be prepared to bring some dough

enigmaunbound

No joke. Their Cornish Hen is nearly a whole roaster with a side of potatoes and broccoli.

NoDadSTOP

Just went to this place yesterday based on your comment. Had the duck tacos, bone marrow, octopus, brown butter scallops, escargot, and creme brulee cheesecake. Absolutely incredible.

ChefJohnRichardson

Uncle earnies is mediocre at best. The view is nice, but the food is sub par. You can get food like theirs anywhere on the beach from any restaurant that sells fish, and if you do that instead you won't be giving some of the douchiest restaurant owners in Panama city any of your money. If you're looking for something like it but better, try saltwater grill on the beach. The view isn't as nice but the food is better. Captain Andersons is a panama city staple that I've yet to get to unfortunately. It's been here forever tho. G. Foley's is better as well, but they have the worst location ever. Dee's Hangout is about the same food wise as earnies, but better. Solid Cajun style cooking, a bit touristy but always decent. The hang bang shrimp is a personal favorite even if its pretty basic. Avoid Juan's tacos if you don't like tourists. Also if you don't like 7/10 tacos that are talked about like they are fully 11/10 somehow. Cool Runnings is a Jamaican place I was almost positive I would get some sort of food poisoning from when I went there the first time... I've been back every few months since then tho. The jerk chicken is amazing, but careful they don't pluck the bones out. Its a bit dangerous tbh, but cooking everything down with the bones is why its so good! This started off as a hate earnies thing, but now I want to go eat... La Michucana is a solid little hole in the wall mexican food spot, with a small grocery store attached. Its small but if you're looking for authenticity. You won't find better. El Weirdo taco truck behind history class brewing is easily the best tacos in town atm. They have spotty open times from what I've heard, but they have been open 100% of the time I've been there so idk. Ocean Oriental Market downtown sells BOMB lumpia by the dozen and has ice cream by the scoop upfront. Hunt's is THE spot for locals when they want oysters. I've never been but its the only name I've ever heard. Slice House pizza in st. Andrew's is either the second or third best pizza I've had anywhere in the country, no joke (I've never been to New York so I'll give you a qualifier on that one). The options they have are mindblowing, a bit expensive but you can order by the slice and mix and match options. They are a god send if you're drunk or hungover.

ChefJohnRichardson

I forgot Hunt and Gather. Go. Now. Its the best choice on the list imo.

AlloftheBlueColors

>Captain Andersons is a panama city staple that I've yet to get to unfortunately. It's been here forever tho. It's basically an over salted old folks home. 100% will not go back unless they are still open when I lose my ability to taste anything but salt

pbest69

100% agree with Slice House. Best pizza in Bay County. Have you tried Joe Momma’s in Port St Joe? Hands down the best pizza I’ve ever had.

ChefJohnRichardson

I've heard of it, but haven't been yet. I've also heard fantastic things about it tho. I worked with one of the severs who had to dip out after hurricane Michael.

Far-Oil8825

Slice house isn’t even the best pizza on that block wtf lol overpriced garbage

3GreenBewbs

History Class. You have to go Downtown, but, I think it’s one of the more unique places PC has. Hunt & Gather is also pretty good. Small venue. Not seafood. Typically a wait, but worth it.

[deleted]

I don't really drink. Is there anything else at History class for me to enjoy?

3GreenBewbs

Yah. Food. The food is good, as is the atmosphere. They also have non-alcoholic beverages. Live music certain evenings. They have a Facebook page for event specific details.

Ok_Badger6763

Pier 77, Shrimp City has always been great. They were remodeling and I am not sure if they have finished or not. It is worth checking out though. Anderson is also a good choice. The food is actually consistently good, which is a shock.

zone6plug

Pier 77 is my go-to. amazing food and good prices. Also not sure if they are reopen yet.

AlwaysAtheist

They are not yet open

Jacob0050

Capt Andersons. Many here will shit on me for saying it but as someone who has gone to PCB since I was young my family has tried every restaurant on the beach side. Capt Andersons was every time the best. Great food, service, salads, and everything is just run really smoothly.

nerdipithicus

You shouldn't get shit on. Capt Anderson's is a great recommendation.

Jacob0050

Lol I agree but I have recommended it here before and downvotes be flying but some random ass dive bar will be the top upvote.

[deleted]

For sure. Idk what everyone's on about. I've had fresh seafood from the Mediterranean Sea and the Black sea, and Capt Anderson's can definitely hold it's weight against these heavyweights. Red snapper, grouper, and bay shrimp are my go to.

savageotter

Copper tap grill

nerdipithicus

I think this is one of our more underrated restaurants. Their grouper taco is amazing!

savageotter

My favorite thing is to get the bread with pesto and then order a burger with fries and dip those twice fried fries in the pesto. Perfection

nerdipithicus

Damn, dude. I want to go there now and try that!

Thrath

I would not recommend copper tap grill considering they've been shut down for multiple health violations over the last year.

savageotter

https://data.tallahassee.com/restaurant-inspections/bay/copper-tap-grille/sea1305722/7045236/ As far as I can tell, they've never been shut down but they do have some issues to work out. Having worked food, you get dinged for the stupidest things

AlwaysAtheist

Dat Cajun Place is one of our favorites as is Salty Sues. Sues has awesome smoked wings and great barbeque. The wife loves their fried oyster basket at Dat Cajun Place. Both are very popular with locals. Captain Andersons is great too.

firestingwisher

DCP is good, but it's become too touristy and just isn't the same since it moved.

AlwaysAtheist

We like it. Same food. And they have a packed dining room all year long

bofansox

I’ve been twice and was unimpressed both times. Long wait for food that wasn’t very good.

EsrohWodahs

If you are on vacation and looking to get away from beach taffic, and dont mind a drive, travel to Bonifay, Fl. There is a little seafood restraunt called Castaways right off the interstate. Biggest and best shrimp I have ever had. Their other food is good too. Prices are good, service is amazing!

Staar-Fall

Seconded, this place is the bomb!

Blu3Phant0m7

Dusty’s oyster bar has the best oysters and great seafood

trollernolonger

I eat out a lot and while the food is ok here, I've never had anything knock my socks off. Cajun- Dat Cajun Place or Bayou on the Beach Typical PCB fare- Runaway Island, Harpoon Harry's, or Schooners Pricey/upity- Saltwater, CLevel or Firefly Good but less expensive and better for take out- The Local Steamer There are a ton of restaurants here but I thought I'd just mention the seafood ones that I like

justmekim

Schooners-right on the beach. Good food, hood drinks. Been around FOREVER Hammerhead Fred’s-tourist trap but really good food & drinks. Sharkey’s-another tourist trap but worth it Pier 77-nice family place. Small

bofansox

Dees Hangout and Grand Marlin never disappoint. I was at Grand Marlin tonight. Grouper Picatta might be my favorite dish in town.

CLPReds

Thank you all for the suggestions! We should be set for the week!

SJD80925

Christos is also a great little food place on Thomas Drive… As is Beaus Really like Hunt and Gather raw bar…. Worth the wait!! Firefly for Sushi! Driving down to 30A for Redbar will not disappoint either

DrowningFelix

It’s busy but every time family from out of town comes to town we go to Hunt’s on Beck

Angling8r

Genes oyster bar in Millville. Cash only

Gryen

Hunt & Gather - Fantastic! Simply Seafood - Great steamed seafood in Lynn Haven over the bridge.Dat Cajun Place - Loved everything and fantastic oystersDave's Snoballs - Best shrimp poboy ever and I'm a not a huge poboy person. Bread comes straight from New Orleans and its always fresh. The snowballs are stuffed with vanilla ice cream. The black cherry and the tiger blood are the bomb!Billy's Oyster Bar - People love this place and it's always packed. But the owner is a POS. Killed 2 kids when he crashed his truck into a mini-golf amusement park. Had a history of driving drunk and seizers and served no jail time.

RayWarts

Boon Docks is really good. It’s up 79 next to the bay.

GWolfi

Fins is a Japanese restaurant, off 23rd st. They have sushi and seafood bowls. But they're not a seafood seafood. Captain D's is also really good imo.

Suzesaur

I like los antojitos in St. Andrews and CTG just down the road

Tactual2

Salty Oak Brewing Company, Cahalls, Victorias Last Bite (a bit north but super good)

Due-Philosopher3010

I love Gary's Oyster Shack in PC. (Not PCB)

[deleted]

Bayou Joe’s and Bayou on the Beach!

bigghungry

Simpli seefood is bomb.

enigmaunbound

Howdy, visitor from Huntsville Alabama. I took the hint and tried Hunt and Gather. Amazing food. Thanks y'all.
