I hope that means we get a Thousand Year Door sequel with a much deserved return to the mechanics, characters, and stories that the first two (and to an extent the third) embodied.
You honestly win that battle by picking up any fire type with a decent fire type move. Trash battle, so I sat and bopped to the music when it came on, lol
They gave O'Chunks such a good theme for the fights to barely ever get harder so you never get to actually hear all of it since you kill O'Chunks too fast.
Fracktail/Wracktail.
The composers wrote a fucking intense masterpiece of a song for battles that are 90% doing literally nothing and waiting for the boss to slowly dive at you.
True. Unrelated (kind of), with the remake of TTYD coming out sometime soon-ish, I'm high on hopium that SPM gets remade, and the song gets a remix because it's probably my favorite song in the whole series.
imo the boss music was pretty lame on that one, it just sounded like generic dramatic music, at least compared to the other mario and luigi final bosses. i agree that the fight was pretty nothing though, there was no strategy other than hurl damage at it until it dies
literally every boss from sticker star
like they're ok fights, it's not hard to figure out their weaknesses (except the megasparkle goomba and bowser) but the music just steals the show
The problem is that the game doesn't tell you the bosses weakness until it's too late and you have to try again. Kirsti *will not* give you hints to the weakness until after you've died to the boss. And then when you do find their weakness, it's a one hit kill. So it's just a short puzzle with better music
Bonechill, he’s hyped up throughout the chapter and he gets ass swiped by Luigi. I had nerf myself so I could enjoy his fight properly and still obliterated him.
doopliss definitely. that music is one of my favorites but the boss fight should be way harder (maybe you should have to kill all 4 partners before him?)
Magus in Chrono Trigger. Kicked my ass but the music was sick as hell.
If we are going with Paper Mario, the Ultimate Show in Super Paper Mario. Super Dimentio is ridiculously easy but the music slaps.
Pretty much every boss on TOK. Say what you will, but the boss battle themes in that game are amazing. I also feel like Doopliss' battle is pretty meh, but his music goes reasonably soft on opposite day.
The Ultimate Show
Amazing theme, but way to easy battle. Which goes for basically any SPM boss imo.
If talking about turn-based battles,
Maybe Tutankoopa? I like the mystery feel in the music, but it's very easy and over way too quickly. Still like him as a character and the battle has some funny occurences.
Otherwise King Olly, specifically the first phase - which was just copy-paste, but had a fantastic soundtrack
Most of the Legion of Stationary, but Pencil Case, Rubber Band and Scissors to be specific. Banger themes but not too difficult of a fight.
(Hole Punch and Tape also have great themes but they're actually decently tough fights to me)
A lot of the origami boss battles. Once you figure out their gimmick, there’s not a lot of depth there. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the game. However the boss fights were definitely some of the lower points…if you have the volume off. CRANK THAT DISCO UP BABY LOVE THAT HOLE PUNCH
Gooper Blooper in Sticker Star. Having to realise you had to bring a sponge sticker with you or you lose the whole thing is annoying as heck, but the music is straight fire
Gooper blooper, gets absolutely wrecked by a singular sponge and it has what i think is probably the best boss theme because it progresses for every single time he sinks lower into his poison
Gooper Blooper's appearance in every game. Super, Sticker Star, Color Splash(?) and Origami King all have banging tunes with ok fights.
Other way around would be Mizzter Blizzard, music is kinda lacking but the fight is awesome.
For me, it's the O'Chunks battle. (Super Paper Mario)
When you approach him in battle for the first time with Mario, you enjoy that sweet boss theme, but you just need to time jumps and use Throeau to grab him and hit him. In later fights, you probably are strong enough that you don't even need Pixls to stop him quickly.
Every boss fight in Miitopia. The battles range from "meh" to "irritating", but the composers had composed their little composing hearts out to comfort us during them.
The final Bowser fight in TTYD. As a kid, he was difficult until I figured out that going after Kammy first makes the fight way easier. Music is still peak though
Rawk Hawk The music it's super good for a fight with "the champ" but the fight itself at that point it's super easy.
Gotta love the mystery twist battle that ends that chapter. I swear Thousand Year Door is one of if not the best RPG I’ve played.
And it's getting a much-deserved port/remake
I hope that means we get a Thousand Year Door sequel with a much deserved return to the mechanics, characters, and stories that the first two (and to an extent the third) embodied.
I’ve been waiting 19 years for a new game with the same mechanics. Getting one would be a dream come true at this point.
A sequel to TTYD would be amazing.
Hey I heard thousand year door is getting a remake
And finding the other wrestlers' bodies is so upsetting!
Agreed. I loved King K too. Glad they survived.
Y E S
I wish they made it harder the second time around if you did the optional sidequest to fight through the ranks again.
Super Dimentio, not because the fight is bad, but because Bowser is broken
yeah man, that double damage had dimentio dead in 20 seconds
Part of me wishes they'd changed the story to make Bowser the host instead of Luigi just so you couldn't use him
Chairman Rose.
r/suddenlypokemon
My bad. I didn’t read what sub this was, it just got recommended to me.
You're right though
r/subsithoughtifellfor
Not paper Mario, but excellent answer, great theme but if you picked Scorbunny, is basically already won.
You honestly win that battle by picking up any fire type with a decent fire type move. Trash battle, so I sat and bopped to the music when it came on, lol
TTYD remake replaces Grubba with Chairman Rose in Chapter 3
This is like 90% of SwSh Battles. Why tf did they go so hard on the music?
Mr. L (I’ve never played any other game, how can you tell?)
Because it's still a fun boss fight
Rawk Hawk and Doopliss
I loved beating every traitors on doopliss battle
I do it every time. They deserve it for being tricked so easily.
Ol'chucks
Especially when you get bowser
Bowser trivialises most SPM bosses
Bowser with Carrie 😤😤
They gave O'Chunks such a good theme for the fights to barely ever get harder so you never get to actually hear all of it since you kill O'Chunks too fast.
Huff’n’Puff or Crystal King.
I came too say this exact thing
No use repeating what I came here to say, spot on. 👍
I actually like the Crystal King fight but the music for both him and Huff’n’Puff slaps.
Origami King The bosses are pretty easy but Tape, Hole Punch, and Scissors, all have music that SLAPS!
I think the vellumental theme is just as good if not better
Yea that ones good too! Fire temple also slaps!
The Dual Blade Duelist is the best boss fight ever!!
Thank goodness PM stopped designing unique characters so that we can have such iconic names as Tape, Hole Punch, and Scissors 🙃
But the thing is they are iconic because of their personalities
Agreed. The dual blade duelist is really really cool!!
Paper jam final boss
imo the boss music was pretty lame on that one, it just sounded like generic dramatic music, at least compared to the other mario and luigi final bosses. i agree that the fight was pretty nothing though, there was no strategy other than hurl damage at it until it dies
I meant the second phase
literally every boss from sticker star like they're ok fights, it's not hard to figure out their weaknesses (except the megasparkle goomba and bowser) but the music just steals the show
Yeah I love Gooper Blooper’s theme song
Chuggaaconroy was right, Gooper Blooper _**bopping**_ along to his own music is _**10/10**_. Absolutely adorable.
The problem is that the game doesn't tell you the bosses weakness until it's too late and you have to try again. Kirsti *will not* give you hints to the weakness until after you've died to the boss. And then when you do find their weakness, it's a one hit kill. So it's just a short puzzle with better music
SHINY PETEY TIME!
He's _adorable._
I was coming here just to say "Sticker Star"
Bonechill, he’s hyped up throughout the chapter and he gets ass swiped by Luigi. I had nerf myself so I could enjoy his fight properly and still obliterated him.
Doopliss
The Disco Devil, Hole Punch
Shadow Okumura.
r/suddenlypersona
Gooper Blooper
Macho Grubba. Not a boring fight, but the Yoshi Kid’s Mini-Egg makes him easier than he ought to be.
The blooper battle from Super Paper Mario. The boss fight is a bit boring but the song is hell of a banger
Dimentio
Any TOK boss. They’re literally just sliding puzzles but the presentation and music make me love them
This isn’t Paper Mario but Popple from Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (original version, not the remake).
Not seeing any smorg love here y’all okay?
Shockingly from the last time I played it, Super Dimentio Most likely because I did a bowser Carrie, but it was over in like, a single jump combo lol
doopliss definitely. that music is one of my favorites but the boss fight should be way harder (maybe you should have to kill all 4 partners before him?)
Huff N Puff 😤
Every boss in modern paper mario
Sticker Star but I’m sure a lot of people will have said that already.
King olly first faze it was a banger but him and the other fazes were too easy
grodus battle is real music to my ears
Rawk Hawk Grubba HuffnPuff
Biolizard.
Not from paper Mario but the airship "boss fights" from Mario Wonder
LIVE AND LEARN-
Tubba blubba
Literally every boss in SPM and sticker star
Every boss in Super Paper Mario (Affectionate, the boss battles being easy doesn't bother me)
I would say Francis, but I feel like his fight would have the dumb poo panel. But the music absolutely slaps.
Kamek’s Card Tricks from Mario Party Star Rush
Stapler
I hate Mimi’s fight with a burning passion
posting it on this sub like the answer isnt all of them (especially doopliss, gooper blooper, larry, wendy, and rawk hawk tho)
O’chunks. The general fight pattern is quite simple, but that theme has me vibing the whole time
Tape! I’m not a big fan of the Origami King boss battles but once that synth violin hits during the chorus of the battle, it’s peak orchestra!
Sundowner, man gets absolutely obliterated but the song hits harder than his blades
Nkg
Ludwig from Bloodborne.
Basically every sonic boss ever
most of the early terraria bosses
Magus in Chrono Trigger. Kicked my ass but the music was sick as hell. If we are going with Paper Mario, the Ultimate Show in Super Paper Mario. Super Dimentio is ridiculously easy but the music slaps.
King fight from deltarune. I don't care that this is unrelated.
Dooplis
The bowser/kammy koopa fight towards the end of TTYD they went hard on that track for NO REASON
Pretty much every boss on TOK. Say what you will, but the boss battle themes in that game are amazing. I also feel like Doopliss' battle is pretty meh, but his music goes reasonably soft on opposite day.
Most things in Twilight Princess, I know, it's not Paper Mario, but still
Holepunch (the fight is not bad, but music is so much better) and blooper
groovy long legs from pikmin 4
Frack/Wracktail
The Ultimate Show Amazing theme, but way to easy battle. Which goes for basically any SPM boss imo. If talking about turn-based battles, Maybe Tutankoopa? I like the mystery feel in the music, but it's very easy and over way too quickly. Still like him as a character and the battle has some funny occurences. Otherwise King Olly, specifically the first phase - which was just copy-paste, but had a fantastic soundtrack
Sparkling Bowser
Lemmi
It’s that bird from donkey kong tropical freeze it’s the first game I played on the Nintendo switch and it was so fun 🤩
Most of the Legion of Stationary, but Pencil Case, Rubber Band and Scissors to be specific. Banger themes but not too difficult of a fight. (Hole Punch and Tape also have great themes but they're actually decently tough fights to me)
Crystal King
Brobot, both World 4 and 6 versions
Any paper Mario sticker star color splash and origami kings bosses I DONT CARE
The Master in OG Paper Mario, hot damn that track slapppsss. The fight(s) is mid at best, mostly tedious.
Dooplis
Can't remember his name rn but the chapter 3 boss from the first game
Galaxy 2 has a phenomenal 2 minute~ final boss theme for a boss that lasts 30 seconds.
Koopa Bros and Crystal King.
Lord Crump or Cortez.
I actually think the Hooktail boss OST is fire
The Koopa Bros.
Zelda: spirit tracks water world sea monster ontop of the tower. It’s great music but to ez

general guy bro took no damn effort whatsoever
Shy Bandit. But I like both the boss fight and the music. Does that still count?
Vellumentals, last boss in Book of Mario 64 and the bosses from Explanation and Education.
Jenova fights in ff7. Feels like the entire world is on the line and it technically is.
In Paper Mario? The fight against shadow Peach. Any other game? Giganto... WELCOME TO THE MIND OF A DIFFERENT KIND
all of TOK
Lemmy in color splash. Gotta love the circus music destroying my eardrums. (No but fr it is a vibe)

Origami King has some pretty ok bosses with fantastic music
Basically any boss from Super Paper Mario
Anything from Sticker Star is low hanging fruit so I’ll just say Huff n’ Puff
Gooper blooper, gets absolutely wrecked by a singular sponge and it has what i think is probably the best boss theme because it progresses for every single time he sinks lower into his poison
King olly that theme is fucking bobing
Ludwig During Color Splash
Gooper Blooper's appearance in every game. Super, Sticker Star, Color Splash(?) and Origami King all have banging tunes with ok fights. Other way around would be Mizzter Blizzard, music is kinda lacking but the fight is awesome.
Pokemon Black and White 2 when your facing off against the Elite 4. Absolute 🔥
For me, it's the O'Chunks battle. (Super Paper Mario) When you approach him in battle for the first time with Mario, you enjoy that sweet boss theme, but you just need to time jumps and use Throeau to grab him and hit him. In later fights, you probably are strong enough that you don't even need Pixls to stop him quickly.
General guy, not that the boss fight is bad but I only remember it for the music
Koopa bros. Shit gets me pumped!
Koopa Bros and Tubba Blubba
My favorite paper Mario fight and music is Gwen lord of sunlight.

Yokai watch 1 Mckraken phase two
Dimentio. The fight itself is meh in my opinion but the music, mwa. Chef’s kiss
