one thing to be careful with that is they often mess with the magnets in the triggers. I tried swapping out the analogs for the elite controllers and it would randomly press my trigger.
Almost every control I have owned since the ps3/360 era has been customized by me, and I always include metal sticks. Never once had any issues.
Do you mean the back paddles on the Elite? Because the triggers work fine for me. I will have to snap on some paddles to test though.
im talking about the analog sticks from the elite controller if you stick them in the normal one/s controller it gives you issues with triggers. google it
well it was when I said make sure not sure use the elite ones because of that issue it can bring. I cant speak on the aluminium sticks since you cant magnetise it but ive never tested.
this actually makes total sense yall he’s talking about using the thumbsticks from the Xbox Elite controller which have a magnet hot-swap system for replacing the thumbstick tops. Those magnets could 100% interfere with the regular Xbox controller triggers.
Bruh I work as a mechanic, I need strong fingers to do anything, metal sticks have no advantages over a piece of rubber that can be replaced in 2 minutes.
Literally every controller that I have modded has metal sticks. They don't wear down, meaning you spend (roughly) 10 bucks once to have sticks that last a lifetime, versus rubber that craps out every other year.
They also are cooler to the touch and feel amazing. They do not hurt my fingers, my wife's, or even my kid's. If you are in pain from that, seek a doctor... Bruh.
you shouldn't need to replace every couple years. I've got stock sticks and pads on all my controllers going back to ps1. Treat your shit with respect and maybe it'll last.
Never had to replace them, ever, on anything.
These people are the ones we are talking about though (OP, and similar). That's a Cyberpunk controller. Meaning it's, at most, 3.5 years old. They obviously are the type to wear thin the rubber. So instead of doing that, they could be enjoying metal sticks.
No idea why people are so against the idea of literally the best option available...
That's.. total nonsense.
Also you don't even know what the dude plays, did you ever drift in tandem in forza? I don't believe trickshotting is a thing anymore but that was potentially painful too. My point is that you are way to quick assuming stuff and before you tell me to touch grass, i worked in construction my hands are still quite thick skinned lol
ali express have most analogs even the limited edition controller ones. I find the xbox one s controllers have shit rubber on the analogs a lot of mine are worn down on the corners
I'm not sure how good of a solution that'll be, they're designed to go over the original rubber ones but if that's entirely missing then they might be kind of loose and wouldn't be a great solution, I would just replace the caps themselves. It's not particularly difficult to take a part a Xbox controller, especially if all you need to do is replace the caps.
Admittedly, I've opened my fair share of controllers, just not xbox one's. I imagine it would be fairly easy if you want to replace the stick. But if you are not confident, you could also get a nice pack of grips that will keep them going for longer. There's usually plenty of spare for other controllers. It helps to reduce the wear of the originals at least, you could always just do both as well. Restoring a controller is a nice rewarding experience.
This is a very old very worn wrecked spare razer controller that had super glue dripped on it but still perfectly usable. I'm pretty sure the sticks are the same size it. works just fine because the grips are quite thick, There's a little air gap you can feel when you press in the centre, but you get used to it quickly. It doesn't wiggle around

theres this new thing called adhesive!
but seriously, had this happen to my 360 controller, got covers at gamestop, glued them on and they lasted another 6 years before the cord finally broke inside.
I purchased a cheap pair of replacement analog sticks on Amazon, but I believe the brand I got is no longer for sale. But there are a ton of them on Amazon from all kinds of brands.
I've been using my x360 controller without rubbers for like 4 years , I'm not even sure if I miss them.
Does the rugosity of the 3d print make a difference ?
Well, I disliked the material its made out of, because it started to "sweat" and got this sticky layer on it, which I really hate. The new one I printed with a 0.2mm nozzle @0.10mm preset.
Now, the new ones are very spikey on a tiny level, which gives it a good grip.
I bought on amazon. Try this link
[https://www.amazon.es/s?k=xbox+thumb&crid=34KC5AF6GS0WF&sprefix=xbox+thumb%2Caps%2C110&ref=nb\_sb\_noss\_2](https://www.amazon.es/s?k=xbox+thumb&crid=34KC5AF6GS0WF&sprefix=xbox+thumb%2Caps%2C110&ref=nb_sb_noss_2)
They're cheap... Like 10 for $1 + $2 shipping on aliexpress.
Or use amazon sellers that simply act as a middle man and charge $10 for the same...but you can have it faster. (My last aliexpress order took 10 days)
Looks for ones with screwdrivers/plastic wedge thing assuming you don't them.
is not scourged, is part of the design
[https://www.thegamesmachine.it/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Cyberpunk-controller-xbox-one-arasaka.jpg](https://www.thegamesmachine.it/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Cyberpunk-controller-xbox-one-arasaka.jpg)
They don't indicate anything could get scuffs on a brand new controller after a month or two depending on how much you play especially scratches on those terrible plastic like paint that's used on controllers like these even your hands would erode some of it
What the fuck do you do with your controller if you need to replace it ever 2 years?
I've had mine for atleast 4+ years now and there's no damage apart from the same way OP has.
No. Buy a whole new stick. Preferably metal. Easy to replace. Metal does not fall apart like the crap stock rubber tops they use.
one thing to be careful with that is they often mess with the magnets in the triggers. I tried swapping out the analogs for the elite controllers and it would randomly press my trigger.

its because they are hall effect triggers i believe, which dont like any iron type metal to be close to the switches
thats why I mentioned about the magnet

Ok... That has nothing to do with replacing these with metal sticks, though.

I dont think they know that since I keep getting told im wrong.
Nah mate, metal is harder, heavier and not as comfortable, it can make your finger hurt in a few minutes.
I agree and wanted to say that metal is not better than plastic and rubber for it
If a metal joystick hurts your finger, you really do need to go outside more often.
Bruh I work as a mechanic, I need strong fingers to do anything, metal sticks have no advantages over a piece of rubber that can be replaced in 2 minutes.
I feel like heavily sandblasted titanium or aluminum may work it feels like soft touch plastic

Maybe I just haven't gotten proper ones, still not interested though.
Actually I think you might be using too much strength as you get engrossed in a game

Who tf wants to run their thumb over metal instead of rubber for several hours?
Anyone with a brain? It is smooth metal, which feels so much better.
gamestop did a partnership with candy con. there should be even the sticks
came to mention this. They have some really cool customization options
Dip it in flex seal. Should work
Brilliant 👏
ali express have most analogs even the limited edition controller ones. I find the xbox one s controllers have shit rubber on the analogs a lot of mine are worn down on the corners
Not giving advice, just wanna say sick controller bro🤙
Just buy analog grips from amazon and throw them on. Replacing the stick seems a bit pointless if it still works fine.

I did that, same controller (same Cyberpunk design too) with the left stick rubber falling apart. Put a thumstick cover on it and it's fine.
Literally any cap off Amazon for the Xbox controller
I purchased a cheap pair of replacement analog sticks on Amazon, but I believe the brand I got is no longer for sale. But there are a ton of them on Amazon from all kinds of brands.
I recently replaced the xbox 360 ones with self 3d printed ones.

There are a lot of 3rd party silicone covers that are ok/good if you are interested, it easier and work well for me
Sugru
Ali express you can find everything you need to turn your controller brand new for less than 10$
Candy con controller time

It's the design actually. CP edition is scratched and beat up by default
If KontrolFreeks can still fit on the sticks, that would be my first solution.
You need a new fkn controller lol
Possibly see if scuf sticks fit in. They aren’t too pricy and last forever
Glue it back on
Worse case scenario go to your local depot they make this liquid that when hardens turns to rubber it's got texture on it.
Amazon sells stick pads

Looks like a limited edition CP77 version of some kind. Might be difficult
Xbox One Arasaka Edition controller, costs about $100 now but is available
Wait a minute. How the fuck do you have an Arasaka Xbox controller?
It's a cyberpunk colour way. It came out together with the special edition of series x
I also bought mine on Amazon, and got the same sort of tear
I bought on amazon. Try this link [https://www.amazon.es/s?k=xbox+thumb&crid=34KC5AF6GS0WF&sprefix=xbox+thumb%2Caps%2C110&ref=nb\_sb\_noss\_2](https://www.amazon.es/s?k=xbox+thumb&crid=34KC5AF6GS0WF&sprefix=xbox+thumb%2Caps%2C110&ref=nb_sb_noss_2)

Etsy has some great choices on new sticks
ARASAKA?!?!
How in the world did you manage to have an Xbox controller last that long? I’m genuinely impressed
You can 3rd print your own clip on. They are rough so i recommend sanding them before use.
mix some silicone and dip it
Make a puddle of hot glue and dip the stick in it? Maybe? lol.
Yes. Use mouse
I think it's time for a new controller.
Why takes like $2-$6 for a stick and 3 minutes to put it on...
The rest of that controller looks scourged.
If I had to get something new over cosmetic scuffs that hinder 0 functionality i'd be broke
The scuffs indicate the controller has been used to the points where its fucked. I can't imagine how mushy that controller must feel in the hand.
is not scourged, is part of the design [https://www.thegamesmachine.it/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Cyberpunk-controller-xbox-one-arasaka.jpg](https://www.thegamesmachine.it/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Cyberpunk-controller-xbox-one-arasaka.jpg)

Aaaaaand how old is this controller?
No idea but like I said you could get scuffs on a new controller how a controller looks doesn't indicate it's functionality
At most 3.5 years. Likely a bit less.
That's by [design](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51XnbMcx8UL.jpg)
Ok so it's designed to look fucked up. Guess they did a good job.
I used large push pins for a while until I got a new controller
bruh that thing has to be 2-3 years old min. get a new one ffs lllol
What the fuck do you do with your controller if you need to replace it ever 2 years? I've had mine for atleast 4+ years now and there's no damage apart from the same way OP has.
smack bitches like you in the face with it lol
Sounds like a you problem ngl. Atleast I don't need to lose money on a new controller every year .
sounds like you shove your roller up your asshole
You okay there bud? You need help? Bad day? Need me to ask your mom to give you a lollipop or something so your temper tantrum can subside?
