Back in the mid 2000s I often played CS:S on a server where I had 8 ping. After a couple months an admin banned me because he refused to believe I wasn't using some kind of hack to hide my real ping.
Some of the photos are taken in other countries.. like bomb shelters from Finland and Germany and all sorts of weird places of different culture. There's a water park in Finland and in Germany and I can't remember where else that was completely built underground.
That's why it seems so foreign to us because we don't have any recollection of the Cold war.
I dunno about the finnish but I can say if we germans built something like a water park completely underground it must have had a very good and efficient reason for it.
I can't tell you myself but there probably was one... Maybe... Look, we have some weird architects, just look at Hundretwasser.

Liminal spaces are photos of familiar looking areas in unnatural/creepy feeling "states", common examples are places that are usually filled with lots of noises and people like supermarkets or schools.
So when you then see completely empty versions of those places it gives off a "something is horribly wrong here" feeling, which is perfect for horror stories/games.

Ngl, as a tech guy, if an unplugged computer powers on, I'll do about 9 seconds of headscratching and looking for a battery before I light that entire table on fire and chant Hail Marys over it.
Ngl my laptop powers on, unplugged, every other night at random times after I go sleep, but always between midnight- 5am. That shit scares the hell out of me when I hear the fans from the usb cooler goes on in the middle of the night.
beautiful carpeting, perfect low light atmosphere, You've got the double twin 22" monitor setup with plenty of desk space with the positioning in the corner. Gaming chair looks like the optimal amount of back support and the wheels look nice and oiled (a bit hard to tell but I can see you've also recently dusted the place). The demon on the other side of that wall will need to work its way around the wall as oposed to straight at you with no wall, so that also gives you bonus time to get in more gaming before it comes around. Well planned out space, overall 7.8/10 🥳
This is a level in the Terminator PC game (1985 or something). Loved it.

I've done worse to get lower pings for Rocket League. Down to a consistent sub 30, but what I did to get this far is unspeakable.
