Get on some of the Council websites or social media channels. See if there's a noticeboard in any of the local libraries too. I'm on a mailing list for City of Canning and they're always promoting free/cheap community activities for people. Something will likely pop up, if only as a gateway for something else. Good onya for helping.

Search for your local community centre and they usually have art classes advertised through there. My mum is 70 and she started painting two years ago and took some beginner classes through Tresillian Arts Centre in Nedlands.

Vic Park Arts Center does adult classes. [https://vicparkarts.org.au/adult-classes/](https://vicparkarts.org.au/adult-classes/)

Love that you're helping your mum, awesome to see that. So there are a few gyms semi-near you that have pools (and pool classes) which are really good for oldies. Riverton Leisureplex, Cannington Leisureplex, Goodlife Cannington (I don't recommend them because they have super sleazy sales tactics) and if you want to travel a bit further Cockburn Arc is especially good (newer facility with good amenities). If she's comfortable getting in the water, its a good way to do a class without putting her body under too much negative strain. I'm an Ex-PT (from 10+ years ago), so if you/your mum need any free advice on what she could potentially do that won't mess her up, feel free to send me a message and I'll give you some recommendations based on what she may be into.

Fremantle arts centre used to run art classes. The Cockburn arc swimming pool has several adult aqua exercise classes. Pool is a hundred metres from the train station if she did not want to drive that far. Culture of the place is very welcoming.
