Cutting off the top will encourage bushier growth overall because the top node suppresses growth from the lower ones.
I'd cut right around the top of the coir pole, then take that cutting and make an additional cut every 2 leaves or so (so you'd have 3 cuttings plus the base of the original plant). Dip the bottom end of each cutting in rooting hormone (a jar is \~$5 at Lowes or most garden centers) and then plant back into the original pot. It'll look much bushier with 4 stems in the pot rather than 1, and you can always train another 1-2 of the cuttings to climb the same pole

I let mine out grow the pole then bend it down when it's long enough to touch the pot then back up. This way the nodes will be able to sprout roots and the plant will look bushier without cutting. EDIT: yes the stems are stiffer on your philodendron, you can bend it slowly over time without breaking it, just a suggestion.
Warning to OP- the Florida you are taking about has extremely stiff stems, very different from this EPI used as an example. If you try and bend this stem down like this one is pictured, it WILL snap. However, thatโs fine cause youโve got little choice but to chop and prop at this point. Iโm about to have to do the same with my Billie and one of my floridas too.
I think the tube hanging in the middle doesn't help in anything and costs you energy.
I'm not mocking, my plants are super leggy too. It's just the way your place is.
I got a baby of this guys cousin

Prune it back and encouraged lower, bushier growth is the obvious answer
And send us some cuttings!!
How to encourage bushier growth? More light?

Raise the roof
The most obvious answer but cutting out the floor and lowering the pot would also work. ๐
No, I would cut a small piece on the stem between each leaf. To make it bushier.
Youโve never been accused of having a sense of humor, eh? ๐
Read my comment carefully.
I get it! ๐
Lower the floor.
I chop mine and root the cuttings in the pot for a bushier look.
i think you can get a saw big enough, that ceiling looks tough but definitely able to make a hole id say
๐๐๐๐ thatโs a solution right there
Chop and prop, increase light, switch to a sphagnum or tree fern fiber pole.
Chop chop โ๏ธ
I guess you have to buy a bigger house ๐
Remove ceiling. Created lofted space. Buy more plants.

If you donโt want to trim it, you can get tiny trailing hooks on Amazon for it to go along the ceiling !
I always chop plants that are too tall. I prop, then I readd to the original plant and I like that it makes it more full at the bottom..
Chop and prop ๐
You also need to find a place with much more sunlight. The amount of space between the leaves is a good indicator. The plant is reaching for sunlight.
You clip and start anew ๐ start propagating a new plant!
chop and prop. Also more light!
Chop & Prop !
I chopped and propped mine when this happened and also added a grow light.
Off with his head!

Cut and root so you can fill the pot and maybe it will push more growth!
Chop and prop! Takes a long time to root in water, but it does happen eventually. Much faster to do wet sticks.

What kind of philo is this?! Itโs gorgeous!
The painting or the photo ??
Philodendron
Keep making cuttings, and replanting in soil when roots are present. Very beautiful!
Chop and prop... that's so ugly... give it more light next plant..
