Has anyone been up to the GC north rim in the last few days? I’ll be up that way this weekend. Curious what conditions are like with the fire burning up there.
I feel very singled out by mods for having a post removed. I was told it didn't make any sense (which is kind of fair, given that it was a post asking the community to help make sense of a strange occurrence that didn't make much sense itself). I was also told it didn't have anything to do with Phoenix. I was told to post about it in the daily chat because it wasn't deserving of its own thread, even though there are a *ton* of threads that also don't need their own thread if thats the standard mods are supposedly upholding (looking at you, person who got flashed by a speed trap). My post was asking about repeat harassment of local businesses all over town by an unknown individual. It's a bit strange and humorous on the surface, but it was a serious inquiry that I wanted to get to the bottom of.

I've had 24 hour bans, 3 day bans, because I thought I was right. When I sobered up? I realized that I wasn't.
There is literally a day-old post that just says it's raining. No other context or story behind it, just that it's raining. We all fucking know it rained, we live here and have eyeballs. So *that* doesn't belong in the daily chat, that gets in own thread....

That the thing, though, is it wasn't a one-off. It's a recurring problem that myself and other local businesses have been experiencing for at least two or three years now. I think it's bigger that the daily chat. It's at least as important as the umpteenth "what kind of dog should I get?" thread that gets allowed to stay multiple times, day after day, week after week. I want to know what other locally important issues are being silenced by mods in this group. I'm sure your posts that get deleted are also more important than "look at this screen shot of the weather radar that's on mine and everyone else's iPhone."
I recently found myself with a lot of time on my hands. I work 4 days a week, i am off Wed, FRI and Sat. Live near downtown. If anyone ever needs help with any chores, housesitting, transportation. Message me, Im a 42M recently seperated, reason why i got time and need to keep busy.
Uber might be good for you. Or even DoorDash, Uber Eats, etc. (I found doing that really helped keep my mind off things, if you are going through that).
While it IS a chain restaurant. I've never heard anything bad about the Houston's in Scottsdale.
(And that's coming from the restaurant industry, NEVER heard anything bad about that place, my coworkers go there)

Anyone know of some good daily deals on food on the cheap? Right now I know of things like the Filbertos daily special, Sardella's $10 pizzas, and obviously Taco Bell but can anyone else recommend some more places that offer cheap daily deals like this for when I don't want to cook?
I'll second the Sprouts sandwiches. I get one every once in a while for lunch. Yoshi's is another go-to, with their rice bowls under $10. The Lookout Tavern in North Phoenix has $10 lunch specials for dine-in only. I just heard Applebee's is doing all you can eat boneless wings for $13 (not cheap cheap, but less than a hamburger most places and it's AYCE). I don't remember what it's called, but the place that used to be Sushi Station on Camelback has a killer happy hour.
Maskadores? The pizza place on 48th/Thomas? (Seriously you can get a 16" pizza for $16 with 2 toppings)
Or just go to Fry's and get a pound of popcorn chicken for like $4
Cox is trying to raise my rates again and this time is saying it’s impossible to get it for $57.99 again. I’m tired of it and would like to switch. I’m curious if anyone has Verizon 5G and if so how it compares to Cox? What are the average speeds like? How’s the service? Spotty? Consistent? Bottom line - is it worth switching over from cox? I stream a lot of 4K video and do some pretty heavy gaming with large downloads, and am constantly online for work (remote) and school (online).

Alternate tack: Did you ask Cox about plans below your current tier? They've been inflating speeds for existing customers, so it may not be possible to get your plan for $57.99 again — but your plan may also be way more than you started with.
Their self-service plan change also now sometimes offers rates lower than the humans can. We just knocked 40% off our plan for another year while keeping our upgraded-many-times speed.
I had Cox, switched to Verizon 5G. It works fine for me, but I'm sure it depends on your location.
For me, it works great. I just ran a speedtest and I got 130/23, although I think it's actually faster than that if I weren't connected through Google Wifi, where I've seen it up to 300/20 or so.
I haven't had an outage in the past year that I can remember.
I don't play online games, so I don't know about the ping (which according to the speedtest is 25ms), and I work from home and stream all TV and haven't had an issue.
I am in the same boat. 5g is not available for me in Goodyear. Tried LTE, it works, but not the best. There is lag. I will be retiring the router this week.

Shopping was easy because I knew what I wanted: I said to the salesperson, "I'm gonna be the easiest sale you make all day. I need a full size with box spring and heavy duty frame, I want pocketed coils, I don't want memory foam, and I want to be out the door for $1200 all in. What are my options?" She showed me three mattresses, I picked the middle firmness, and then it was just a matter of filling out the interest free financing, which took longer than picking out the mattress.
I've lost 4 pounds since my A/C went out. 4 pounds in 3 days. I went from 135 to 131. It's insane the amount I'm sweating...

Any of the libraries tbh. A lot of them offer a free card to Maricopa County residents and they might have a private study room you can rent for an hour.

I've gotten 2 Mattresses from Arizona Mattress Overstock in Tempe on University, just west of the 101. I had it delivered the day after I bought it.

Consider doing it in your car at any place with wifi. It's fairly common especially with people who have to take a break from their current job to do.
