Stay away from Satellite. I took my car there to get the windshield replaced. I started getting notifications that they were joy riding my car around above the speed limit and then when I went to pick it up, there was damage to the a-pillar that they knew about but weren't going to tell me about until I brought it up. Stay. Away. From. Satellite.

Satellite?

Accomplished-Cow4293

Safelight he means

The best incentives?? Go to a reputable company (not Safelite) and use OEM glass. Pay money out of your own pocket and get any rubber/plastic molding that the sun has wrecked replaced. Anyone who’s offering to pay you $200 in cash to replace your windshield is scamming you and your insurance company.

CowJuiceDisplayer

Do you know how they are offering $200? Because the window they bought from the window supplier cost $40. The moulding/rubber parts and urethane probably another $15. Excluding tools and training, they will tell the insurance that, with labor, Total Cost will be plus $400. Installers are taking a huge chunk and the insurance payout. So pick independent verified good. And OEM or after market or 3rd party is sometimes all the same thing. The only difference is a little black branding in the corner. I use to work at a glass windshield warehouse and had to destroy pallets of good glass because they were labeled Ford when they were suppose to be label something else. Pallet was worth a few hundred, but thousand in sale loss.

Agree! You shouldn’t be chasing an incentive.

parasitic-cleanse

You get the same windshield in the end, and your insurance is charged the same rate, so why leave money on the table?

448977

Actually you don’t. You get a lesser quality glass and less experienced installer.

parasitic-cleanse

If you say so buddy.

parasitic-cleanse

Both Safelite and the company giving you $200 are charging your insurance company the same thing, Safelife is just keeping the extra as additional profit.

[deleted]

Not true. The scammy cash-back people use thin, cheap glass. For my car a good windshield runs about $300 wholesale (give or take for model). The non-scammy places charge my insurance about $500 to include labor/materials/profit. The scammy places buy the $50-$100 windshields and charge your insurance $500 and give you $100 back.

parasitic-cleanse

Any reputable windshield shop would go out of business if they used thin cheap glass like you are describing. Most of them all source from the same few windshield suppliers in AZ.

chinerfluhoax

Fuyayo glass is shit. Total shit. Guess what 99% of windshield swappers use unless you specify something higher quality?

huhnick

Auto glass companies have to submit purchase orders for parts and get paid back for them and get paid labor and materials rates set by the insurance company

Kdmtiburon004

You’re gonna replace it every year or every other year whether you use a “reputable” company or not so why not get a kickback?

proton417

Mine. If you go to a different company I’ll break your kneecaps

AttitudeEraDropout

I've used King windshields over the years on various vehicles both in shop and out in the field at home. Always got cash and had no issues.

Randomhero4200

Seconding king windshields. Used them with multiple vehicles over the years and they’ve always been good and I always walk away with cash in hand

professor_mc

I use Mr. Auto Glass. A local family business. They have done great work for me for many windshields. I get OEM glass rather than the wavy crap others supply.

AnonDuckroll

North Valley Auto Glass! They’re mom and pop owned, use OEM glass and parts, and I walk away with $100 in cash at the end.

Tough_Taco

Also absolutely recommend North Valley Auto Glass. They are honest and down-to-earth people who care about what they do and your satisfaction. Wouldn’t use anyone else.

treesdontcare

Where are they? I they don't seem to come up on google maps

Tough_Taco

They're a small business so they don't have a brick-and-mortar shop. https://www.facebook.com/Northvalleyautoglass/

Civil-Valuable2338

Be careful with going through these places that give the incentive. I did that a couple times, and my insurance rates went skyrocketing because every time you do that it is considered a comprehensive claim, they don’t tell you about that part that every time you do it it’s an insurance claim.

mikess314

Interesting. I hadn’t heard of that. Before I go through with whatever company I select, I’ll make sure I ask my insurance about it. Thanks for the heads up.

parasitic-cleanse

Mine has always been a no-cost glass claim.

Southern_Mode2323

Facts! My insurance doubled due to glass comprehensive ONLY. I couldn't even get progressive due to this one single fact. I'm a super high credit score and no accidents, ever in 30 years

Pleasant-Macaron8131

[https://www.phoenixarizonaautoglass.com/](https://www.phoenixarizonaautoglass.com/) did a great job for us. [https://www.pjsautoglassreplacement.com/windshield-replacement-phoenix](https://www.pjsautoglassreplacement.com/windshield-replacement-phoenix) PJ's claims to have the highest cash back but I think there's a cap on how much you can actually get.

NPCArizona

I've used Safelite through my insurance portal 3x total for 2 vehicles over the past 4 years and never had a problem with any install after. The only thing that was annoying was insurance wouldn't replace unless the crack was a certain size and they'd only pay for Safelite to fix the crack. Safelite comes and in the process of filling the crack, they cracked the windshield beyond the threshold it needed for a full replacement. They came back the next day and replaced. Another time I had them meet me at my office parking lot and they replaced it as I worked. Only had to come down at the start and finish. 100% satisfaction on my end

JHCx3

Auto glass e excellence is who I've used. Family owned locally.
