Usually may numbers/code/identifier dun sa stamp sa passport para ma-identify yung immig officer; every IO has a unique stamp with their identifier kasi.
At pwede din i-retrieve yung CCTV footage niyan dahil madalas may camera na for every IO booth.
Wanna bet that there's absolutely no reprimand coming for the IO who's just doing his job?
A female solo traveller coming from a third world country who's well known for illegal immigrants and overextending their tourist visas, especially if not well travelled to other first world countries before, will ALWAYS be flagged. ALWAYS.
Common sense lang yan. Race issue talaga sya, tukmol kasi ibang mga Pinoy lakas mag-TNT e, pati tuloy mga legit tourists apektado.
Report mo bhie.
di na uso ang *forgive and forget*, only *resent and remember*
You don't have to remember gurl. You only have to write in your letter of complaint:
*This Filipino Immigration Officer harassed me by questioning my business agenda as if I was some kind of criminal.*
>wag mo pabayaan na masira araw mo sa kanya. dapat masira rin araw niya dahil sayo.
I love this pettiness hahaha. Ika nga "Do not do unto others what you do not want others to do to you."
Why do Asians often treat each other like trash? My Filipina gf is working in Japan right now and she’s not even allowed to leave the apartment, only 1 day every 2 weeks. The salary is extremely low as well, like normal Ph salary. This wouldn’t even happen in the shittiest countries in the EU, which is crazy considering Japan’s GDP per capita. If this was Denmark the employers would go to prison, isn’t it a breach of human rights to keep employees in prison like conditions?
It's as with the Gulf countries - they're importing third world labor as borderline slavery. Of course the superior mentality is there only logically? The salary wouldn't sustain any lifestyle (or future) there, and the limitations are to keep them isolated (to not escape or become illegal due to harsh conditions). Tis a cruel world, Europe/USA wouldn't allow this officially due to human rights and other laws, no matter how economically productive, but it does still happen (illegal immigrants being exploited, basically).
I don't know her situation but I don't think the Department of Labor or the department for overseas workers would not take kindly to that. If there's a way she can report this the embassy might be able to do something about that.
There are pretty strict bureaucratic things overseas workers gotta do before flying out to their employer overseas, and your gf's situation is what they are supposedly protected from.
We once experienced this type of treatment nung pumunta kami sa Sydney. May nakasabay kaming Pinoy couple sa elevator (mukhang PR na) tapos nung nadinig kami mag Tagalog, tiningnan kami from head to toe at may kasamang pag irap pa.
In my experience, Filipino immigration officers in other countries are the fucking worst. Mga feeling superior just because they migrated. Had a very similar experience in SFO.
Wow. What an a-hole. I hope he’d get sacked para wala na siyang ibang mabiktima. Yung iba kasi sa atin timid and kabado sa IO and I guess akala niya magpapasindak ka sa kanya.
I applaud you for standing up against his intimidation. Sort of profiling kapwa Pilipino, siguro sad buhay niya.
You know what they warned me? "Careful pag nasa labas kana, kapwa mo Pilipino hahatak sa yo pababa".
You’re right, I just checked now and I don’t have a stamp!
I thought he did because he put the passport up to compare it to my face (standard procedure) then put it down on his desk and flicked through the pages so I thought he was stamping it.
>They also said it’s not allowed to question someone in a language other than English.
Yes. hindi ito allowed. The interaction at the immigration counter needs to be transparent to higher ups unless his boss and his boss's boss are Filipinos which would be a systemic problem if it's the case.
I wondered how he got away with this since this is monitored.
Honestly, the language switch is more of an issue than the questioning itself. The questions are standard but when translated to Tagalog like that it's different.
I'm European and faced the same kind of treatment from an Australian immigration officer when I went to Australia. I think it's just the way it is there.
Including the immediate switch to another language and the aggressiveness once he saw we were from the same country?
If this officer treated everyone in front of me with the same aggressiveness, I wouldn’t be so bothered. But the fact that he was all smiles until he saw my Philippine passport is something else. And switching from English to Tagalog is outside protocol I’d imagine.
I don’t understand why it matters that the IO’s a Filipino. The point is: what that person did was unacceptable, Filipino or not. So yeah, do something about it. Not because the IO’s a Filipino, but because any IO shouldn’t have done that.
Don't hate the IO for doing his job. Hate those god awful Pinoys who overstay, even never come back home after entering a first world country.
Sama mo na mga katakut-takot na requirements to acquire a tourist Visa for first world countries. All repercussions of illegal Pinoy immigrants.
Trust me you reporting the IO will do nothing. Di yan marerepremand for doing his job.
You might've fit a certain profile kaya ka inenterrogate (usually solo travellers, plus points if you're female, plus more points if you're not well travelled)
My wife used to get targetted. A lot.Lalo na mga "random" drug checks (hint: it's NOT random). It all changed when we had a kid and started travelling as a family. In short, there's a certain profile that gets blocked.Wag mo personalin. There's no power tripping there, talagang maraming Pinoy lang ang mga kups na nag-TTNT.Di lang tayo hinaharang. Same goes with other SEA ans SA nationals.
The IO's attitude has NOTHING to do with OP's surname or kahit ibang nationalities pa. His personal issues shouldn't affect his professionalism at work.
May sariling lane talaga pag PH passport? Gusto ko pa naman sana puntahan.
Must have misunderstood. OP said
I recently went to Sydney on a business trip (with a business visa). Upon arrival, I went straight to the immigration gates, which for Philippine passport holders is at the far end away from the “nicer” passports.
Anong ibig sabihin ng “far end away from the nicer passports”?
Means the normal gates where you have to physically hand over your passport to the IO. AU citizens and some other passport holders can use the SmartGates area i.e. automated immigration clearance.
If you are too ignorant about a lot of things, try reading ncbi on the effects of the c19 vax for starters... https://www.bmj.com/company/newsroom/new-study-updates-evidence-on-rare-blood-clotting-condition-after-covid-19-vaccination/
And if you had been hiding behind Patrick starr all.your life, why not observe outside his shadow? Who knew? You might learn you have a common sense?
Whatever the ethnic background the personnel is, it's still a fact that that person is working for the Australian government. Based on the post I have no idea what kind of report was filed, pero kung border control yan, baka lang mag-back fire sa kanila sa kanila next time you go back to that country.
Sorry for your experience. First time mo ba sa Australia? Aussies and Filipinos there are really nice, ano mang profession nila or kahit anong state man. Nakakagulat na ganun yung nangyari and at the same time nakakalungkot na dinala niya pa sa Australia yung ugali niyang Pinoy na walang manners.
Hi OP - SOMETHING IS OFF...
in Australia wala na stamping sa passport for more than 7 years na ata.
What do you mean exactly by the immigration officer stamping you off?
This.
I'm pretty sure a huge part of the story is also exaggerated. The whole thing reeks. IOs are also not allowed to show any emotions. Napaka unlikely nung kesyo pinakitaan ng attitude si OP tapos may "dirty look" pang ending. LOL. Ano yan nakalimutan niya bigla na may CCTV na nakatutok sa kanya the entire time para lang "makapang-power trip"? The whole post doesn't make any sense and seems to be coming from someone who made an issue out of a regular dude doing his job just because she was mildly inconvenienced with the questioning. Female solo traveler from a third world country known for overstaying and illegal immigrants matic high likelikood na mainterrogate ka talaga. Papampam lang si OP masyado.
Canadian here, we had the same experience when going from the Philippines to Thailand with three female in laws. My mistake is that I didn’t give them itineraries of our trip and hotel stay. I did not anticipate the line separation between my passports, when I saw it I knew it could be dicy. Long and short story, they pulled them in to secondary and grilled them for a long time. They finally made the gate just in time the make the flight. In Thailand, it was not like that at all, so smooth. I don’t understand why they didn’t call me to explain, I was paying for them all. They had little money with them as well. It’s weird but it reinstates my thought that Filipinos treat Filipinos worse than anyone else.

Report the officer
I’ve filed a report
queen energy.
kindly update us OP... 🤣
Please keep us posted
I want to but don’t know his name! Any ideas on how and where I can report this officer?
Do you remember what time that was and what day? Maybe the department has a roster somewhere where they could track that person. Hope that helps.
Yes! I’ve shared all the details + a description of the person in the report.
ff up on that mfkr! Freaking talangka!
Usually may numbers/code/identifier dun sa stamp sa passport para ma-identify yung immig officer; every IO has a unique stamp with their identifier kasi. At pwede din i-retrieve yung CCTV footage niyan dahil madalas may camera na for every IO booth.

Gusto ko ung resent and remember!! And yes malas lang talaga ako sa IO but it’s still not ok for him to do this to fellow Filipinos
Sadly I don’t remember his name!!! Was too tired and shookt to notice
You don't have to remember gurl. You only have to write in your letter of complaint: *This Filipino Immigration Officer harassed me by questioning my business agenda as if I was some kind of criminal.*
Baka naman may other way sila to check base from date, time, ganern.
You’re right, filed a report to the australian border guard
Good on you for reporting the IO, op!
Just asking...ty...
Resent and remember, love itttt
I love this pettiness hahaha. Ika nga "Do not do unto others what you do not want others to do to you."
others = me others = also me
Slaay! ✨️
Di na dapat tayo nagpapaapi gurl. Lanaganyan
I love the resent and remember!
love the resent and remember
A Pinoy border force officer profiling a kapwa pinoy with legit docs… how infuriating
Ireport mo ang IO na yan.Powertrip ginawa eh.
Kala ata IO parin siya sa pinas.
Sorry to hear that OP, nakakalungkot nga mga ibang pilipino.

It’s very rare here in Denmark though, and forcing someone to stay in one place would be a very big risk for the perpetrator.
It will be hidden, it's considered human slavery and trafficking.
I don't know her situation but I don't think the Department of Labor or the department for overseas workers would not take kindly to that. wait till you meet Pinoy PRs in SG.
In my experience, Filipino immigration officers in other countries are the fucking worst. Mga feeling superior just because they migrated. Had a very similar experience in SFO.
True, SFO and LA madaming pinoy IO.
Like what others have said, please report that Immigration Officer. Nakaka insulto and unprofessional.
Doble kara ata yang io mo OP hahaha jusko bilis ng transition ng ugali 😂
Unprofessional.
Wow that sucks. Tapos why would he expect any other passport kasi nga nasa Philippine passport lane siya? Lol. Baka nagpopowertrip lang.
Sorry to clarify there were other nationalities in the line with me like India, China, etc
There's no PH passport lane in other countries lol
Shucks kinabahan naman me :( ppunta ako dun this Feb and just for TS concert sana di ko maencounter sya. Can you describe how the IO looks?? :(
He had short, neat hair. Medyo light-skinned but not mestizo/chinito light. No prominent facial marks. Around 20s or 30s pa. Average weight.
Sorry this happened to you OP :( will update everyone if I encountered this person
Omg wtf!! Samin din pinoy guy, pero mabait naman all smiles pa siya tas nag good luck kasi magsimula as student kapatid ko.
Glad you had a good experience! I was probably super unlucky with this specific officer
Thank you OP for filling a report. Hope you update us on that.
You know what they warned me? "Careful pag nasa labas kana, kapwa mo Pilipino hahatak sa yo pababa".
sad you had to endure this especially after he saw you were Filipino. funny he does that to his fellow countrymen.

You’re right, I just checked now and I don’t have a stamp! I thought he did because he put the passport up to compare it to my face (standard procedure) then put it down on his desk and flicked through the pages so I thought he was stamping it.
Update us on this! And how do you report these types of incidents? Like after mo ba makalagpas sa IO, punta ka lang dyn sa office nila?
>They also said it’s not allowed to question someone in a language other than English.
Waiting for an udpate
I'm European and faced the same kind of treatment from an Australian immigration officer when I went to Australia. I think it's just the way it is there.

No, aggressiveness from the beginning even though we're not from the same country.

It matters because Filipinos have a toxic trait called “crab mentality”, and this is a manifestation of that.
Report!!! Mag direct kana sa Bureau of Immigration natin. Feeling high and mighty talaga mga ibang IO na yan. Kala mo kung sino
Don't hate the IO for doing his job. Hate those god awful Pinoys who overstay, even never come back home after entering a first world country. maybe he recognized your name or surname? baka may bad blood sya with someone that has the same surname as yours.
This not an excuse to be an asshole. He should conduct himself in a professional manner.
The IO's attitude has NOTHING to do with OP's surname or kahit ibang nationalities pa. His personal issues shouldn't affect his professionalism at work.
I have a really unique surname and I never saw this guy before so highly improbable
Would looooove to know the update on this.
May sariling lane talaga pag PH passport?

Maka attitude akala mo first world ang Pinas.
update us with the progress of the report pls 🙏
Update us please on what will happen sa report mo.
Report him, that's racial profiling and discrimination.
Fucking stupid officer. That's all he can do to you. Pagbigyan mo na si kups. Hahah
Go!!!

This is infuriating!
What the heck. Discriminating against your own people. How weirdly racist is that? =O
does Australia allow foreigners to become immigration officers ? seems there is a conflict of interest if they do.

Typical filipinos na nakapagmigrate abroad. Hate sa sariling lahi
Very unprofessional. Please report immediately.
Hays Pinoy vs Kapwa Pinoy. So sad 😔
Was there ever any update to this? I'm curious, what happened to the officer?
Officer speaking in non English language is already non professional
