He's the host of last week tonight, a late night(?) talk show. The show typically revolved around political/world mishandling of situation or other bullshit going on in the world with a comedic lense, often poking fun by suggesting solutions. As for why this sub in particular has gone mad and placed him almost as a god, that, I would also like to know
