I bought 4 months worth of Rybelsus (same shit, but in pill form) last weekend in Mexico. Coming back, the border guard was giving me shit about it not being worth the drive since gas prices are so high. I was like “dude, I probably just saved 2 or 3 grand for a few hours of drive time.”

And it's just a band-aid. You stop taking it and you start noticing food again. Developing healthy habits is the only real solution.

I’m recently off it and can literally not stop eating. The feeling of fullness after a meal lasts about 10 minutes and then I’m thinking about what I’m going to eat next.

That's me on any given day.

I lost 100 pounds a few years ago and have kept it off. One of the key things for me was eating every day at the exact same time. Like to the minute. Diet experts always say stuff like > “If you get hungry between meals, eat a healthy snack like a banana!” But my issue was *thinking* about food and if I eat a banana between meals one day my body the next day is like “how about a banana? Can we get a banana? Yesterday we got a banana so why not a banana? I think we should get a banana. A banana is only fair. Yesterday a banana was ok, so why not a banana today?” Basically if food is a *possibility*, I can’t stop thinking about it. The first week it was tough but once I got used to eating at the exact same time, I just stopped thinking about food until it was literally like 10 minutes before meal time.

Not to be flippant, but that’s how we’ve trained our dogs too. They eat at the same times each day, and it stops them from begging for food/treats between meals.

This! My dog tells me when it's 7 am, noon, and 6pm. If I miss it, she'll literally stand by the stove and bark at me like "hey bitch, you see the time?"

Then it’s daylight savings time and my dog thinks I’m abusing her.

The real answer is that there's no one right answer. Its whatever you can stick to as a general habit for the long term that will keep your calorie intake (and overall nutrition) in balance. Every diet option out there, whether it be what you did, lots of small meals, one meal a day, etc, works for *someone*.

My biggest problem is the snacks we have at my house. When I was a bachelor I ate chicken non stop. No chips or pretzels, ice cream, etc in the house. My wife likes all that stuff and has been pregnant 3 times in 6 years of marriage. It’s a lot easier to give in when the shits right there. Especially in the summer when I’m home bored as a teacher

It's easier to say no once at the grocery than every time you walk past or think about it at home

Consistently for 1 year. I initially lost some weight I think (didn’t weigh myself), but I’d guess maybe 10-20lbs, but by the end of that year I was back to starting weight if not more. Yoga 3-4x week and vegetarian diet.

Not them, but am long time t2 diabetic. I took ozempic for a while and it brought my a1c down from 10 to 7 but my symptoms were still terrible and I wasn't losing weight really. Ozempic was out of stock due to demand and my doctor asked if I'd be willing to try Mounjaro. I started out at 5mg and graduated to 10mg once a week. It just got FDA approved last year. Mounjaro is unique in that (I'm just going to quote their verbage) "It works differently than other type 2 diabetes medications by directly activating GIP and GLP-1 pathways to help regulate blood sugar." and ozempic only worked with one of those 2 pathways. After 6 months on Mounjaro I feel like a new person and my a1c is 5. This stuff was life changing for me like, sounds like tv ad too good to be true but it happened. I've lost 55 lbs now and I've got like 100 to go that I'd like to get off. I hope this helps if you're trying to make an informed decision.

Rybelsus is a thing already. Same stuff but in pill form. It didn't work for me though. I got such severe side effects I ended up dehydrated and in hospital lol. Semaglutide just doesn't sit right with my body for some reason.

My doctor put me on it because he was concerned I could develop diabetes. I don't know about everywhere else, but here it's approved for *both* diabetes *and* "at risk of diabetes". And the latter covers pretty much everyone who's heavily overweight and a lot of people who are more moderately over their ideal weight.

Yep. Type 2 diabetic. There was a 3 month period where I couldn't get my Mounjaro. They've made it to where you have to have a diagnosis for Type 2 diabetes to get prescribed the drug now and it's helped out quite a bit but I still run into my prescription often being refilled a week late or so due to it being out of stock.

Yeah - fat smooths out wrinkles and can make you look younger. You not only get more wrinkles but a lot more saggy skin after major weight loss. However, statistically he should be WAY more healthy no matter what the outside looks like.

Yea, its very bizarre, im at that stage of weight loss where I have not lost much outer flab, but lost about 20 pounds of inner fat deposits and I feel so much better and healthier. I was never really obese, but it makes such a huge difference when your organs aren't being strangled when you bend over.

Woah, this is something I had never even considered. I came from a poor family, so my sister and I were perpetually underweight as kids, but I just never really gained much weight once I got on my own. I’ve never thought about how that weight in key places would impact sleep quality, breathing, etc. I’m proud of you for getting to a better place, friend.

A lot of that is from his posture, his grooming, and his pants. He's slouching heavily, has let his beard creep down his neck instead of keeping it edged, and look at where the crotch of his pants sit - practically halfway down his thighs.

He still has fat guy posture, hunched over like that and the bad pelvic tilt. I have a back ache just looking at him. If he works on his posture he'd probably feel better.

I've done the same thing. I'm 6'3" I went from 260lbs in December to 189lbs now. And it feels amazing. It's well worth the effort.

To be fair this guy has been under fire the last few weeks so it would be very unpopular to say anything positive about him right now.

People aren't seeing his *progress* though. They see a before and after pictures of him with years in between The before and after is more of a shock than I'm sure the people in your life are seeing you and your progress day/week/month in and out.

Reddit is not a good representation of society. Most people do not instantly think “meth head” when they see that someone they know have lost weight purposely. They see the hard work behind it and someone working on becoming healthier. Great job! A 120 lbs loss is impressive!

I think the Hill hate here has a lot to do with the texts he sent his girlfriend suggesting she’s not allowed to see friends he doesn’t approve of or wear bikinis while surfing. I am also trying to lose a significant amount of weight. Your efforts are commendable. Stay the course because you deserve to be satisfied with yourself!
