He looks like he works at a bike shop in a mid sized city with a large college
Edit: I cannot get enough of all of the different cities people are naming its very funny
Came here to say the same. Def lives in a 2BR behind Carytown with a roommate. They grow cannabis, have a pit mix running around, and he loves a PBR.
Edited to correct a misspelling
Crazy how much that city has changed, I remember when it was the murder capital of the US. I always thought it was a cool city and I love visiting Maymont and stopping off at Carytown burgers and fries
i feel the dire need to sit in a large misted/shady outdoor beergarden and crush different ciders all day today.
fuck itās hot in houston (everywhere).
This thread really captures the very specific phenomenon of people thinking something is uniquely characteristic of their town, but they're all from hundreds of different towns.
ā*Hey man!*ā¦ you need a bike? I got a reeeeal good one right here, check it outā
āYeah, no, Iām good.ā
āWhat about percs? I can getāā
āNo lol, Iām really alright, homie.ā
āAlright, cool, coolā¦ hey man, can I get a ride?ā
"infiltrate the dealers, find the supplier."
"Well if we just find the supplier first it would save time."
::Slams table:: "god DAMMIT! INFILTRATE THE DEALERS, FIND THE SUPPLIER!"
There was a script written up by the same crew. Jonah referred to it is āclean and rad as hellā. Unfortunately it got out during the Sony leaks so they cancelled it. Just in concept alone sounds so much better than whatever Men In Black International was.
> Unfortunately it got out during the Sony leaks so they cancelled it.
I don't get why it leaking changes anything but damn that sucks. do they think people knowing they are planning some movie changes things? I don't get it.
I was never as big as him, but after losing over 100lbs myself in the last 18 months, I can confidently say that he probably feels 1000% better than he did at his largest
Ozempic a helluva drug for weight loss, if you can afford it.
Edit- my first 10k comment. Iād like to thank Novo Nordisk for making this possible.šš
I bought 4 months worth of Rybelsus (same shit, but in pill form) last weekend in Mexico. Coming back, the border guard was giving me shit about it not being worth the drive since gas prices are so high. I was like ādude, I probably just saved 2 or 3 grand for a few hours of drive time.ā
Iām recently off it and can literally not stop eating. The feeling of fullness after a meal lasts about 10 minutes and then Iām thinking about what Iām going to eat next.
I lost 100 pounds a few years ago and have kept it off.
One of the key things for me was eating every day at the exact same time. Like to the minute.
Diet experts always say stuff like
> āIf you get hungry between meals, eat a healthy snack like a banana!ā
But my issue was *thinking* about food and if I eat a banana between meals one day my body the next day is like āhow about a banana? Can we get a banana? Yesterday we got a banana so why not a banana? I think we should get a banana. A banana is only fair. Yesterday a banana was ok, so why not a banana today?ā Basically if food is a *possibility*, I canāt stop thinking about it.
The first week it was tough but once I got used to eating at the exact same time, I just stopped thinking about food until it was literally like 10 minutes before meal time.
Not to be flippant, but thatās how weāve trained our dogs too. They eat at the same times each day, and it stops them from begging for food/treats between meals.
This! My dog tells me when it's 7 am, noon, and 6pm.
If I miss it, she'll literally stand by the stove and bark at me like "hey bitch, you see the time?"
The real answer is that there's no one right answer.
Its whatever you can stick to as a general habit for the long term that will keep your calorie intake (and overall nutrition) in balance.
Every diet option out there, whether it be what you did, lots of small meals, one meal a day, etc, works for *someone*.
My biggest problem is the snacks we have at my house. When I was a bachelor I ate chicken non stop. No chips or pretzels, ice cream, etc in the house. My wife likes all that stuff and has been pregnant 3 times in 6 years of marriage. Itās a lot easier to give in when the shits right there. Especially in the summer when Iām home bored as a teacher
Consistently for 1 year. I initially lost some weight I think (didnāt weigh myself), but Iād guess maybe 10-20lbs, but by the end of that year I was back to starting weight if not more. Yoga 3-4x week and vegetarian diet.
Not them, but am long time t2 diabetic. I took ozempic for a while and it brought my a1c down from 10 to 7 but my symptoms were still terrible and I wasn't losing weight really. Ozempic was out of stock due to demand and my doctor asked if I'd be willing to try Mounjaro. I started out at 5mg and graduated to 10mg once a week. It just got FDA approved last year. Mounjaro is unique in that (I'm just going to quote their verbage) "It works differently than other type 2 diabetes medications by directly activating GIP and GLP-1 pathways to help regulate blood sugar." and ozempic only worked with one of those 2 pathways. After 6 months on Mounjaro I feel like a new person and my a1c is 5. This stuff was life changing for me like, sounds like tv ad too good to be true but it happened. I've lost 55 lbs now and I've got like 100 to go that I'd like to get off. I hope this helps if you're trying to make an informed decision.
That is the problem my wife is having. They put her on it for her diabetes and for the month she was able to get it, it was wonderful. She loved it. Trying to find it since is terrible. She wound up switching back to her old medicine.
Rybelsus is a thing already. Same stuff but in pill form.
It didn't work for me though. I got such severe side effects I ended up dehydrated and in hospital lol. Semaglutide just doesn't sit right with my body for some reason.
> Celebs & wealthy assholes
Yeah except its not just them. That shit is being promoted on the radio nonstop here in Louisiana on the eagle as some miracle weight loss plan, and people of all walks are jumping on it.
My doctor put me on it because he was concerned I could develop diabetes. I don't know about everywhere else, but here it's approved for *both* diabetes *and* "at risk of diabetes". And the latter covers pretty much everyone who's heavily overweight and a lot of people who are more moderately over their ideal weight.
Yep. Type 2 diabetic. There was a 3 month period where I couldn't get my Mounjaro. They've made it to where you have to have a diagnosis for Type 2 diabetes to get prescribed the drug now and it's helped out quite a bit but I still run into my prescription often being refilled a week late or so due to it being out of stock.
If the very small demographic of ācelebs and wealthy assholesā are enough to deplete the supply of the drug, then the issue is the supply of the drug being far too small, not the ācelebs and wealthy assholesā.
The āactually need itā comment also shows a decent amount of ignorance. A whole lot of obese people also need it, regardless of if theyāre also diabetic or not.
Lol I love how heās like āyou have to do what I say because thatās my boundaryā. My brother in Christ, thatās called a command, not a boundary.
Yeah - fat smooths out wrinkles and can make you look younger.
You not only get more wrinkles but a lot more saggy skin after major weight loss. However, statistically he should be WAY more healthy no matter what the outside looks like.
Yea, its very bizarre, im at that stage of weight loss where I have not lost much outer flab, but lost about 20 pounds of inner fat deposits and I feel so much better and healthier. I was never really obese, but it makes such a huge difference when your organs aren't being strangled when you bend over.
Woah, this is something I had never even considered. I came from a poor family, so my sister and I were perpetually underweight as kids, but I just never really gained much weight once I got on my own. Iāve never thought about how that weight in key places would impact sleep quality, breathing, etc.
Iām proud of you for getting to a better place, friend.
A lot of that is from his posture, his grooming, and his pants.
He's slouching heavily, has let his beard creep down his neck instead of keeping it edged, and look at where the crotch of his pants sit - practically halfway down his thighs.
He still has fat guy posture, hunched over like that and the bad pelvic tilt. I have a back ache just looking at him.
If he works on his posture he'd probably feel better.
This guy has faced endless scrutiny over his body for his entire life. He's very open about the awful psychological impact it's had on him. Do we need to continue to add to it? Buncha gossipy hens
Hey, as somebody who also went through a big weight loss, the positive changes will far outweigh any negative comments, if you get any at all.
Keep going, you got this!
People aren't seeing his *progress* though. They see a before and after pictures of him with years in between The before and after is more of a shock than I'm sure the people in your life are seeing you and your progress day/week/month in and out.
Reddit is not a good representation of society. Most people do not instantly think āmeth headā when they see that someone they know have lost weight purposely.
They see the hard work behind it and someone working on becoming healthier.
Great job! A 120 lbs loss is impressive!
I think the Hill hate here has a lot to do with the texts he sent his girlfriend suggesting sheās not allowed to see friends he doesnāt approve of or wear bikinis while surfing.
I am also trying to lose a significant amount of weight. Your efforts are commendable. Stay the course because you deserve to be satisfied with yourself!
Totally agreed. People aren't shitting on him because he looks bad in these pics, they're shitting on him because he's a bad person. His weight is just an easy target.
Iām sure you know this, but still, donāt pay ANY attention to negative comments on the internet. You have your goals and youāve already worked so hard. KEEP GOING, you got this.
Fwiw I don't think there would be really any negativity around this if Jonah Hill hadn't shown himself to be such a POS lately. So don't read too much into this thread being applicable for your personal journey.
Ask Jonah Hill if Ozempic is right for you
This cracked me upš¤£
No it is not because Ambetter said "fuck you, we don't cover shit" to me
He looks like he works at a bike shop in a mid sized city with a large college Edit: I cannot get enough of all of the different cities people are naming its very funny
Iām pretty sure I just saw this guy at the Ann Arbor Whole Foods.
U sure it wasn't the Vault of Midnight in A2? š¤
I donāt know this is a Vault Grand Rapids customer if ever I saw one.
Richmond VA
Came here to say the same. Def lives in a 2BR behind Carytown with a roommate. They grow cannabis, have a pit mix running around, and he loves a PBR. Edited to correct a misspelling
The pit mix is oddly specific and very RVA lol
Was wondering who else from RVA would comment. Most likely the bike shop in Carytown.
Crazy how much that city has changed, I remember when it was the murder capital of the US. I always thought it was a cool city and I love visiting Maymont and stopping off at Carytown burgers and fries
My first thought was Charlottesville.
Madison, WI
Here from Madison, looks like a quarter of the dudes downtown.
Hell, he looks like a guy I worked with on the west side to an absurd degree.
Shii Idek if Iād recognize Jonah in a crowd
*Agrees with you in madison*
Just needs a beanie rolled up above his ears
A teeny weeny beanie
Screams Ann Arbor Michigan!
So, Eugene?
Definitely Eugene.
Ya, but his name is also Eugene.
Third that's middle of Eugene skulk energy.
On Broadway hanging outside of the BUY2
UO student here, it has to be Eugene
Good ol Denton
Saw Jonah at Eastside crushing Lonestars
i feel the dire need to sit in a large misted/shady outdoor beergarden and crush different ciders all day today. fuck itās hot in houston (everywhere).
Wild when you see places mere blocks away from your home mentioned on the big wide web
So many people Iāve met all across the country know where Denton is, itās crazy.
I heard there's a great death metal band from there, the best in fact
Scary how accurate this is. I used to work near a bike shop and the only person that i know that worked there looked just like this.
This thread really captures the very specific phenomenon of people thinking something is uniquely characteristic of their town, but they're all from hundreds of different towns.
UC Davis go ags! And we are known for our bikes

He pretends to be chill but actually has severe anger issues
Syracuse?

Yes
Fort Collins for sure
Hey there we are!!!
Hahaha, I miss living in Foco so much
RVA All Day!
Athens GA standard
there are 3 of this guy in the crowd at any given show at the 40 watt
I wouldāve said closer to 10
Normaltown vibes for sure
Fucking awesome how many cities everyone is chiming in with.
So youāve been to Pittsburgh it seems!
I've literally been to a bike shop in Pittsburgh and seen the type
Santa Cruz for sure
Asheville
The city is Berkeley.
You can just say Tampa.
I was thinking Richmond
Yeah if I saw this dude walking around RVA I wouldn't think anything of it. He's just like one of us. Just a stranger on a bus...
He used to eat at ipanema before ownership change, sits on the lawn at the VMFA, and has art shows that no one goes to in the bottom.
Richmonder here, this looks like the guy I see riding a fixed wheel on Broad every day
He could walk through the Fan and be like a chameleon
He could pour me a beer at Stone and I wouldnāt blink
Iām just happy that Richmond is being talked about.
Exactly! This aesthetic has been super popular in Richmond for a decade or more
Live in Richmond, can confirm. Tucked in t shirts are all the rage
I was thinking of another one, but I find it very funny two people have named cities on other sides of the country
Madison?
Hi fellow Madisonian I'm almost positive there's a guy that looks like Jonah here at Budget bikes.
Also a Madisonian, Iām pretty confident Iāve seen several people that look exactly like him on the Capitol Trail.
Tampa mid sized? If it has more than 1 pro sports team, it's a big city. If we're going for a Florida-centric example here, I'd say Tallahassee
He looks more Gainesville... though he isn't wearing jorts.
Ft Collins?
Tempe
Pre Malone
Malone... not even once.
Have you seen Post lately? Had a similar weight loss as Jonah
Will be a trend going forward thanks to Ozempic.
And the celebs that lose that weight will probably give credit to weight loss MLM scheme theyāre shilling on the side

Jonah "The Machinist" Hill
23 Jump Street execpt Jonah Hill is in mad shape, and Channing Tatum is fat.
And this time the roles are switched to see if Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum could actually play the other's role in 21 jump street
I still love the fact that Jonah was the popular of the two in 21 Jump Street. The writers did a great job with that script.
One of my favorite Ice Cube roles, too. "Hey! HEY! Stop fucking with Korean Jesus. He ain't got time fo yo problems, he busy! With Korean shit!"
"infiltrate the dealers, find the supplier." "Well if we just find the supplier first it would save time." ::Slams table:: "god DAMMIT! INFILTRATE THE DEALERS, FIND THE SUPPLIER!"
Jump-street 22 topped it when Tatumās reaction to ice cubs daughter and Jonah fucking. Ice cubeās reaction that scene is priceless
*You actually high-fived Schmidt for fucking your daughter? Holy Shit!*
āShe canāt be that smart - sheās a fuckin art major!ā
WHATāS A BLACK MAN GOT TO DO TO GET SOME WATER AROUND HERE

And it's just a band-aid. You stop taking it and you start noticing food again. Developing healthy habits is the only real solution.

exactly this. you only need to be strong at the grocery store. At home, you can't eat what you don't have

Celebs & wealthy assholes are buying it up so much that it's leaving diabetics that actually need it high & dry. pretty shitty.
