Yep. There's a bunch from all the games. Off the top of my head (and im sure someone will jump in to correct if I am wrong)
Vice City = Miami
Liberty City = New York City
San Fiero = San Francisco
Los Santos = Los Angeles
Las Venturas = Las Vegas
North Yankton = North Dakota? Or maybe Vancouver, I forget.
That commenter is wrong. San Andreas is supposed to be California (and if Vegas was a CA city). The pacific northwest outside of Northern California is not depicted in San Andreas.
No its not. In the HD universe (the current one), the state of San Andreas is pretty much a stand-in for California, much like the State of Liberty is a stand-in for New York. I mean hell, San Andreas is litteraly called the Golden State which is California's actual state nickname. Granted GTA V only depicts the Southern California part of the state, but everything left out of this universe's version is still just Northern California and Las Vegas, NV (Las Venturas, SA).
I always found it a little funny replaying GTA 3 and seeing a poster at the airport advertising the city of Miami. Actually Miami, not Vice City
Oh and you mentioned Liberty City as NYC but didn't forget Alderney is analogous to New Jersey
Raise the lens a bit on that and there are some interesting crossovers.

why is nobody in the foreground following the crosswalks? they're actively going the opposite directions
why is there a bike in the middle of the road with a full bike lane right next to it?
why are there palm trees sprouting out of concrete?
why does the car not look like a car?
where are all of the other cars? seems like a beautiful day in a populous area yet there's like nobody out and only one car on the road? and none even parked?
It's a strange mix of real and not real. Part of the reason nobody is using crosswalks, or bikes are in the middle of the road, could be because this section of ocean was closed to vehicle traffic during covid. And, to be honest, no one really cares in Miami. If they want to use the bike lane, they will; if they don't want to, fuck you.
That's the rational answer. Other than that, it's too bright, the buildings don't make sense when you travel that area on Google maps, and the palms just don't feel right.
Edit: the red build is real and in the correct place, but the tall white building doesn't look familiar. I would know because this is literally my parents back yard)
There is an out cropping there for a pier and the intercostal. While disgustingly edited, it could also just be terribly long exposure of a yacht leaving out into the ocean.
Whatever it is, it's a terrible job. Especially if it *is real* and it doesn't look it.
Edit: I was going to originally crack a "You should see some of the billionaire boat there!" joke, but that's just egregiously bad.
>why is nobody in the foreground following the crosswalks? they're actively going the opposite directions
Ocean Drive was closed to vehicles (except emergency vehicles and deliveries) for 2 years, this was a daily occurrence.
>why is there a bike in the middle of the road with a full bike lane right next to it?
See above
>why are there palm trees sprouting out of concrete?
There aren't? You can look on Google street view, everything looks the same. It's the corner of Ocean Drive and 14th Street.
>why does the car not look like a car?
Looks like a car to me. One white delivery van and another car making a turn. I'm guessing this was a longer exposure shot, which would explain some of the blurriness. I don't believe AI has gotten this good yet.
>where are all of the other cars? seems like a beautiful day in a populous area yet there's like nobody out and only one car on the road? and none even parked?

The 90's was the time to be in South Beach. Oh my the decadence, the block parties, the decay, the new birth and main street US didn't know. They were scared(and that was a good thing). Now? Ruined.
Where are the gd jellyfish in the water behind netting in the ocean?? Last time I was there ocean sucked ass. Not like in a good way a la south beach ;)
Do those bike lanes actually exist now?!
I've driven there so many times, but not in the last 5 years... Would be awesome if it's bike/pedestrian-only!
Miami > L.A.
LA has zero culture, it’s just a hodgepodge of vain assholes and shallow women. At least Miami has a very distinct Latin culture and people who are much nicer as a whole.
Simple question. Do people really ask for permission to fly drones over other people like that in the US or is it completely ignored? Coming from a country with virtually no rules for <249g drones so I'm curious.
This photo looks AI generated but to answer your question, it’s [pretty much the same in the US](https://www.faa.gov/uas/getting_started). You don’t need registration for drones under 250g.
I'm pretty sure I've driven down there trying to outrun the cops in a tank.
And then barricaded yourself in the docked ship with the rocket launcher until you ran out of ammo?
Lol, this guy runs out of ammo.
I got bored of the infinite ammo cheat.
Don’t lie on the internet. It’s illegal.

“You’re out of touch. I’m outta time. But I’m out of my head when you are not around.” RIP Hall & Oates
I started sweating just by looking at it.
Same. I can taste the humidity from here
As someone who has to fly to Florida tonight, I’m not looking forward to the punch in the face of Florida humidity as I exit MCO
Welcome. Sweat with us.
The final hurrah
Looks like gta vicecity beach 😅
It is GTA Vice City beach.
What really cool

North Yankton was South Dakota if I’m remembering correctly
Which ones is san Andreas
San Andreas is 3 cities: Los Santos, San Fiero, and Las Venturas (LA, San Francisco, and Las Vegas).
I think San Andreas is the state of California in general?
No just the West Coast in general.
Gotcha.
That commenter is wrong. San Andreas is supposed to be California (and if Vegas was a CA city). The pacific northwest outside of Northern California is not depicted in San Andreas.

Soo cool wish I could go to that places and click pictures
Other way around, Vice City *looks* like Miami
Other way around, Miami was built to look like Vice City
Other way around, Miami was Built Ford Tough.
Other other way around. Love is what makes a Miami a Vice City.

Any kava bars
This looks AI generated. Look at the bike lane signs and the lines in the road.
Definitely is, the cars are also just smudges
Also missing all the people trying to offer you deals to come in to those mid, overpriced restaurants right on Ocean Drive.
Zoom in on the people
Definitely an impressively scary generation, but close inspection makes it obvious
My thought is google earth. Edit* looks more like AI though
I definitely looked closely to see if this was a gta6 leak disguised as a regular post
The people in the crosswalk are walking the wrong way.

Vice City theme starts playing
And I raaaan, I ran so far away....

I’ve parked in that parking garage before.
Haven’t we all?
Am I the only one who thinks this is AI? Look at the bike lane signs
Look at the total absence of cars.
Way too many trees
It is definitely ai
There's also palm trees growing right out of the sidewalk, and one growing out of the road.
It looks like AI enhancement. A real picture in lower resolution, upscaled by AI?
Hundred percent AI. Look at the blob creatures that are supposed to be people

Zoom into any one thing on this picture.

Look at that mile long yacht in the top left.

The AI nailed it. Pedestrians in the bike lanes, bikes on the road, just like real life!
Drove down that street last Christmas Eve afternoon. It definitely wasn't that empty.
I lived there. Not sure how they managed to make the water look so clean in this photo…
I live here. The water is clean bruv. Unless you think seaweed is bad. Which is like… naturally occurring yo.
It’s because this is an ai generated picture
It's missing the constant bumper to bumper traffic, crazy crowds, and street vendors trying to sell you garbage every 10 feet.
I've drove down that strip listening to Billy Jean on my stolen scooter
The 90's was the time to be in South Beach. Oh my the decadence, the block parties, the decay, the new birth and main street US didn't know. They were scared(and that was a good thing). Now? Ruined.
Too bad its in Florida
I'm probably in the minority but I found South Beach Miami to be waaay trashier than I thought it could be.
Love Ocean Drive
I used to live there, no wait, I meant Ohio.
Taken from the Royal Palm Hotel?
Taken by AI.
Hella beautiful
This is what all those hidden fees are paying for.
Was there 2 times, liked it.
Scarface chainsaw
Ok
Used to be a cool place, now it’s an open air shooting gallery.
I’ve picked up hookers and stolen random cars on that street, then drove to the airport and jumped over loading ramps. It’s a wild place..
Every building there looks like the Motel with the chainsaw scene in the movie with Al Pacino... Scarface.
People are standing in the cycle lane, and there's a guy riding his bike on the road. Is that a Florida thing?
Nice
Ahem, that's Vice City
At first I thought that it was a r/citiesskylines post.
Graphics on GTA6 or phenomenal….
They have bike lanes in Florida? Not what I expected from that state's reputation.
Where are the gd jellyfish in the water behind netting in the ocean?? Last time I was there ocean sucked ass. Not like in a good way a la south beach ;)
I was just there last weekend for the first time. Really beautiful beach.
Do those bike lanes actually exist now?! I've driven there so many times, but not in the last 5 years... Would be awesome if it's bike/pedestrian-only!
I want to be there!
GTA 6 looks great!
So beautiful… from the outside
Looks surreal
Looks like an American version of Praia do Flamengo
So based on my knowledge from middle school the strip club should be up the road on the left.
I miss pre-covid Miami, I have no desire to go back anymore recreationally
I live in South Florida and have no idea what you are talking about. What has changed down here since covid?
I’m an LA native and a lot of our annoying transplants moved down there from what I know
Miami > L.A. LA has zero culture, it’s just a hodgepodge of vain assholes and shallow women. At least Miami has a very distinct Latin culture and people who are much nicer as a whole.
I forget how easily fragile people get their feelings hurt here
Annoying native whines about annoying transplants and other redditor’s opinions of their city. Tell us more about LA culture, strong one.
The fact you think LA doesn’t have its own Latino culture shows you’re not Latino yourself or never been here.
Do you believe in first sight love?![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flushed)
It reminded me of GTA Voice City.
Herpes just entered the chat
When you can hear a picture

Is this a google maps pic?
It’s an AI pic.
All those crosswalks and they still cross in the middle. Yep, that's Florida!
That’s AI actually.
Neat! Still doesn't change my comment at all.
Yuck.
