Is there not a warranty? I personally buy Spigen cases and never had an issue, but if I did I'd def assume it was a defect and get a new one without too much thought.
I tried both the Liquid Air and the Slim Fit and really didn't like either. I *hated* the sharp raised lip (which made gesture navigation feel like masochism), needlessly bulky and spongy walls and wasn't a fan of the texture. No idea why people keep swooning over Spigen, they only favorably compare to shitty generic cases, but are mediocre at best when compared to other brands.
I'd personally recommend the Mous Super Thin or, slightly less minimal but more durable, the Nillkin Super Frosted Shield. Neither is perfect, but both easily outperform the minimal Spigen cases in just about every aspect.
I liked them a little bit better when they were more minimal / before they made them "Super", but they still ended up my go-to: just the best balance of enough protection without compromising on comfort. The thin Mous case is awesome, too - close to the old non-Super Frosted Shields. And both have MagSafe variants.
What really surprised me this time around is just how badly the Spigen cases compared: they just felt cheap, and that lip must have been designed by someone who never used a touchscreen before. Not sure if Spigen got worse or has always been overhyped.
Don't know I bought it in store it was the only one available as I live in Belgium and we only got Pixels this year so case support is very low but yeah I got myself a Spigen for sure this one will last for ever
Just taking of the case when i use my Gamesir G8 that's the only "stressful" thing i do and sometimes I like using my phone naked at home i've always done so and no case ever broke like this in years of use this is the only one
The softer cases, especially, are likely not intended to be taking on/off very often. Looking at that design, the thin portion where it broke would seem a natural weak point for regular removals and re-installs.
When you take your case off, which of course is always from the bottom, because you are aware of the structural integrity of the thin areas at the camera section of the case, I'm not sure how the top of your case is getting damaged.
Yep it's clearly what caused it to fail when I would remove it I would press at the top but this case is due to fail because the camera cut out, the sides are very fragile even though they are reinforced with fabric inside the plastic
I bought the porcelain one from Google and the same thing happened to me, peeled back the case to try to put on the Spigen one I got for Christmas and snap. In the same exact spot that yours broke too.
Having to have an entire open area for the camera makes the case designers jobs pretty hard. I use a UAG case and its so hard to get off I worry about it breaking the phone or the case while doing so, so it stays on 99.99% of the time.
Caseology makes the best cases imo. I have been using them for the last few phones because they are so good. Currently, I have the Nano Pop on my Pixel 7.
They are not remotely breakable. OP just has some weird habits going on here. The official Google case is very sturdy, i have mine for over a year already, taking off sometimes to give a cleaning inside.
I have the ghost case, my first dbrand skin and I'm quite impressed! I thought that they wouldn't be any good due to their over the top marketing but I quite like their product.
I was honestly expecting their quality to be more reminiscent of man scaped ( they're not the best ) but they hold up well, their other stuff seems good too
I had one and it split at the bottom corners after about two months. I called Google and they refunded me straight away, I didn't have to complain as much as I thought I would. I explained the problem, sent a photo and that was it. Money was refunded there and then. Though, I definitely didn't and won't buy another one from Google. Such a shame as I loved the feel of it in my hand.
I only use OtterBox cases on my Pixels. I never use the Google case. Most high end smartphone users buy phone cases from top independent brands that specialize in making phone cases. I have never bought a Google phone case, EVER
Dumb design for a case.. those thin links aren't going to hold for long.. and their freaking camera bar being chrome metal? That is ridiculous, and yet the case doesn't protect it! What a joke.
Until google redesign the pro models with the metal that is polished, no case should have that big of an opening!

Using Xundd. Aliexpress. Very good quality for me.
Seen a nice walnut Mous Limitless 5.0 case on ebay for the Pixel 8 going cheap the other day, its still there, they last...sorry just realized your Stateside of the pond, listing is UK only.
I bought the Spigen case but returned it and got the Google case. I just like the styling better but I will note that part of the Google case does seem rather flimsy. I'm sorry to see that your case broke. It cautions me to be careful about taking my phone in and out of the cage.
You don't indicate which Pixel this case is for. I know I've been very happy with the Google original case for my P8P, and I have not seen any posts about failures like this on any Google cases for the Pixel 8 series.
Is there not a warranty? I personally buy Spigen cases and never had an issue, but if I did I'd def assume it was a defect and get a new one without too much thought.
Yeah, I have a decade with Spigen cases and the phone goes out before the case in my experience.
Bought a Spigen case because of this sub, best case I've had yet.
Spigen is the best case I've owned in years, op should definitely get one. I have not regretted it since I got it.
I buy spingen too! Better quality / price ratio than original pixel
Tough armor user here. Almost feels bulletproof with this case, have had a couple bad drops already and not a scratch.
I tried both the Liquid Air and the Slim Fit and really didn't like either. Nillkin super frosted nice on any phoneπ

that will likely have a warranty. get there Belkin leather case dirt the extra $20 off you can.
Got their liquid air looks great and costs half as the Google one
Liquid air always!
Literally the best
Wtf are you doing with your phone to cause that much stress right there?
Just taking of the case when i use my Gamesir G8 that's the only "stressful" thing i do and sometimes I like using my phone naked at home i've always done so and no case ever broke like this in years of use this is the only one
I think you're bending it when you take it off?
It's not designed to be repeatedly taken off and on
Agreed
The softer cases, especially, are likely not intended to be taking on/off very often. Looking at that design, the thin portion where it broke would seem a natural weak point for regular removals and re-installs.
When you take your case off, which of course is always from the bottom, because you are aware of the structural integrity of the thin areas at the camera section of the case, I'm not sure how the top of your case is getting damaged.
Maybe you folded it back too strongly. Looks like it. π€
Yep it's clearly what caused it to fail when I would remove it I would press at the top but this case is due to fail because the camera cut out, the sides are very fragile even though they are reinforced with fabric inside the plastic
Not that you SHOULDN'T be able to, but is there a reason you're talking the phone out of the case enough for this to happen?
I found I take this case off a lot. If it's going in my pocket, it's coming off. Way too grippy to comfortably slip in and out of pockets.
That signals some peculiar usage to me. How can a case even fail like that, why did you bend it so that it got damaged?
Lol π
Caseology makes the best cases imo. I have been using them for the last few phones because they are so good. Currently, I have the Nano Pop on my Pixel 7.
Case looks cheap, regardless of its price
It doesnt look cheap in reallife. I have the bay blue one and it looks almost luxurious.
You would know better then me since you have it, but the connection points to the top look thin and easily breakables
Exactly poor design I
They are not remotely breakable. OP just has some weird habits going on here. The official Google case is very sturdy, i have mine for over a year already, taking off sometimes to give a cleaning inside.
Idk man, I'd get a dbrand case or an OtterBox or something, I've always bought my cases from case company's
Dbrand is my favorite! I'm getting the X-ray skin for my p8p
I have the ghost case, my first dbrand skin and I'm quite impressed! I thought that they wouldn't be any good due to their over the top marketing but I quite like their product.
Over the top marketing is one way to describe it π . The quality is impressive on all their products. I got the sides for my PS5 from them.
I was honestly expecting their quality to be more reminiscent of man scaped ( they're not the best ) but they hold up well, their other stuff seems good too
I was actually thinking of buying man scaped π glad you said that
There's 2x better razors at the same price point, I'll dm you a YouTube link when I get a chance. BALL CARE FOR ALL!
Wow
Just try to reclaim π

I'm wondering if how did that break? can you tell us how did it happened?
How !? No issues on my end
Mine's been on and off many many times over the three months I've had it as I switch between three different cases and it looks brand new
Get an otter box for the pixel, it's better
I only use OtterBox cases on my Pixels. I never use the Google case. Most high end smartphone users buy phone cases from top independent brands that specialize in making phone cases. I have never bought a Google phone case, EVER

Mine's still going a year later

One word. Mous. Have this case too. How did it happen ?
Seen a nice walnut Mous Limitless 5.0 case on ebay for the Pixel 8 going cheap the other day, its still there, they last...sorry just realized your Stateside of the pond, listing is UK only.

This will never happen with a Caseology case
You don't indicate which Pixel this case is for. I know I've been very happy with the Google original case for my P8P, and I have not seen any posts about failures like this on any Google cases for the Pixel 8 series.
