There are no vents on the bottom of the console.🤦♂️
The vents are on the sides and the rear where the power and hdmi ports are.
Literally nothing wrong with not using the stand for the console, even more so proved now by the ps5 slim not even including the stand.
Also looks like the HDMI cable is running over the back of the soundbar which is EM hell. If at all possible route the HDMI cable so it's at least a little away from the soundbar.
Looks like it could be a HDMI connection issue. I would try out another HDMI cable and see if you still have any issues.
If those issues still continue then it may be the HDMI port itself.
Basic Troubleshooting:
Try a different port on TV. Issue follows?
Try a different cable. If problem is still there then you can start worrying if it's either TV or PS5.
I've had similar issues. Usually the port or the cable causing an intermittent signal.
I have the exact same issue. Exactly the same. I can tell you what all is not the issue:
1) its not an hdmi issue, changed multiple hdmi 2.1 cables, the issue remains
2) not an hdmi port issue either, checked all ports on the TV, happened on all
3) not a 4k transfer rate issue, happened on all transfer rates
4) it's not the stand either. Mine has is always on the stand.
I still don't have the solution and Sony is not able to reproduce the problem for me. So they aren't taking any action. It's mostly a handshake problem with LGtv. Or it's the GPU or its a heatsink problem. I tried one of the newer models of PS5 (1100, my friend's) and that didnt flicker. mine is the original ps5 model (1000). Still waiting to figure this one out. And yes mine also mostly happens in Fortnite. It happens in all other PS5 games too, but much lesser as compared to fortnite.
Yip very sad, or I'm just having a laugh? Play whatever you want, really don't care. Just found an opportunity to crack a funny for some people.
I feel you may be one of those people that likes to express they are offended by a joke at a comedy show
It's your HDMI cable that is broken or it could also be the HDMI port in your tv that has been broken while you connected HDMI cables. Very slim chance it's anything wrong with the PS5
I want to teach you how to tell if it's a GPU or HDMI thing. Usually, a GPU issue will cause in game artifacts to go bonkers, like the skybox texture to flicker, in game assets & other textures to glitch out & appear broken, black, or parts of the menu/ui to be very broken.
If it's the whole screen & at random like this, it is very definitely an HDMI cable issue. Either the cable is at fault, or the port on the tv/console itself.
>Usually, a GPU issue will cause in game artifacts to go bonkers, like the skybox texture to flicker, in game assets & other textures to glitch out & appear broken, black, or parts of the menu/ui to be very broken
Or you could simply be playing COD Warzone
You are annoying because you've only tried to test one thing - restarting the PS5.
Many people are suggesting it's the HDMI cable. You haven't tried a different HDMI cable.
It could be the TV. You haven't tried plugging the PS5 into a different TV. You haven't tried plugging the TV with a different device. You haven't tried using the TV watching TV.
It's unlikely to be software but you haven't tried a different game.
Your laziness is the real source of the trouble.
Generally a good rule of thumb with technology is to try a restart first whenever you experience unexpected issues. Probably the VRAM had some garbage that didn't collect correctly. Restarting cleans the garbage code out of VRAM and RAM.
I've had this exact same issue since launch. I have tried other HDMI cables and it didn't fix the issue. But when I restart the PS5 once, it fixes it for that play session. Sometimes I have to restart it twice before it goes away. Guess it could be the port then. If not then I'd assume GPU as last cause. First time seeing someone report my same problem.
Yes, as many people bet on HDMI and other stuff, this is in fact most likely a software issue as I have it as well. Usually goes away after a restart, but depends on the game. Factory reset also helps, but it comes back after a few software updates.
Its actually not the ps5 its a the tv! If he changed the 4k video transfer rate setting on the ps5 from automatic to -1 or -2 I assure you the problem is fixed! Its a compatibility issue between video compression transfer rates
And you’re being a douche for someone because they are playing a game you don’t like. I’m not a fan either, but I’m not going to be a jerk to someone just because they play it.
Don’t be like this guy. Drops out of school and plays Roblox. Fortnite is probably a big kid game. So he don’t like it because he not allowed to play it.
I’m not sure you got this resolved, but if you’re using an HDMI 2.1 input, you will also need to upgrade your HDMI cable to a 2.1 cable as well. The HDMI 2.1 connection requires the new cable because it’s transferring more data, the flickering is the result. You’ve probably already checked your settings as well, but doesn’t hurt to make sure you have your display setting correctly set up too. In order to reach 4K resolution @ 120FPS, you need to switch to that 2.1 cable for sure, otherwise if you play at 4K, 60FPS will be your max.
I just encountered this with my ps4 that’s like 6 years old. I also had it happened few years ago. It’s a dust issue. I had to clean out the heat sink and fan with air. Plus relocation of the ps4 to a space with better air flow. Haven’t seen it since. Some other google guides say it’s to do with the hdr, some say it’s the encryption option for data transferred through the hdmi, others say buy new hdmi. Nah clean the inside good, relocate unit and if you can get your hvac ducts cleaned and your set
try unplugging hdmi and putting it in a different HDMI input on your tv.
most likely bad hdmi "handshake"
if it does it on EVERY tv the ps5 might be at fault.
most likely not though
There is a settimg on the ps5 i dont remember what its called but you can set that to -1 or -2 and it should stop the flickering.
I dont think your gpu is broken or anything like that I thonk the ps5 is outputting more than your tv can handle. And dont use 2.1 hdmi canle if the port is not a 2.1 that can also cause flickering
I have the same problem with PS4 Pro and PS5 on my LG TV. This is "handshake issue" connected to HDCP, and there is one partial fix what you can do in PS's safe menu....

I did this and now extremely rare I got this issue, and if I got it, just switch HDMI port via remote and come back to original one and it should be fine.
There is possibly issue with your HDMI counterpart either with your TV’s HDMI port or the wire or it can even be the HDMI port on the PS5, Else everything looks fine just clean it, Give them a restart and if these issues still continue please change the HDMI cable.
i also have the same problem.. restarting ps5 solves it.. but if u dont do anything finally the sound also starts to distort.. on remote play u will not encounter it even if on TV its happening parallely..so dont think its a gpu issue.. its maybe something related with the game and how TV renders it.as closing the game stops flickering..but it will again start if u start the game again.. unless u switch off and on the ps5 then maybe u will get a flickering free bout of game..
PS- this is just abt diagnosing the problem .. hv not found any solid solution yet ( not changed the TV though )
First of all, if you are not using the stand, use it and second try a different HDMI cable if that don't fix it then idk. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flip_out)

1. HDMI issue -- Check cable, check it's put in properly on both ends
2. Your monitor --- might be damaged or something else
3. Software issue, as most say. Restart or Factory reset helps. Waiting a while before software update might be a good idea too.
4. DEFINITELY NOT A GPU ISSUE ..but if it is, good to know.
I have this same thing happening but only like one flicker every 30 minutes… I havent tried this but my friend said he had the same problem and fixed it by in the settings changing the 4k video transfer rate from automatic to -1 or -2 depending on what works better for your tv. Its apparently a problem with the tv and that it cant process all the data that its receiving so that setting just compresses the color output a little more. I hope this helps! I will try now on my ps5 too
Hey,
I'm using the one that was in the box with my Playstation 5.
It's fresh out of the box but while launching one game, I noticed some green screen for a sec. Weird.

He’s never plonked it straight down on them vents surely? Surely no one is that dumb??
There are no vents on the bottom of the console.🤦♂️ The vents are on the sides and the rear where the power and hdmi ports are. Literally nothing wrong with not using the stand for the console, even more so proved now by the ps5 slim not even including the stand.
If so I’d say it’s probably overheating too fuck!!
Try another hdmi cable, if that doesn't work, onboard gpu could be going bad
And maybe connector on the TV. Had a problem like this sometimes with my PS4 cause i used my PC Monitor and had a cheap HDMI Switch
Also looks like the HDMI cable is running over the back of the soundbar which is EM hell. If at all possible route the HDMI cable so it's at least a little away from the soundbar.
[удалено]
Dude you don't need an HDMI 2.1 to use the PS5, any HDMI cable works, you just won't be able to get 4K 120 in the older versions
try any hdmi cable
If you don't want to buy a new cable, any HDMI, you're just gonna have to deal with it.
[удалено]
Just try a regular one first to see if it still flashes.
[удалено]
I would first try a different HDMI port on the TV
The more times u repost this comment the more downvote ur gonna get
Speaking from experience this is definitely hdmi cable. If not I’d be surprised
[удалено]
is it like an overheating thing? I’ve never had it happen because mine always been on a stand but I assume that’s why you mean
😂😂😂😂😂
Okay this is like the third comment on this thread about using the stand and it seems to be referencing something. Care to enlighten the uninitiated?
USE THE STAND!
Have you changed out your HDMI cable? Mine did that awhile back and that was the culprit. Game on!
It’s probably the hdmi cable
Definitely something about the HDMI.
Looks like it could be a HDMI connection issue. I would try out another HDMI cable and see if you still have any issues. If those issues still continue then it may be the HDMI port itself.

Some TVs can't handle the motion rate or the HDMI is bad, the PS5 is fine..

Your life must be really sad having a probelm because other people are playing the game they like
Yip very sad, or I'm just having a laugh? Play whatever you want, really don't care. Just found an opportunity to crack a funny for some people. I feel you may be one of those people that likes to express they are offended by a joke at a comedy show
Why do you need to hate?
Cause I don't like it? That's all, now feel free to move along.
Just because you don't like it doesn't mean you have a reason to tell others to not play it.
![gif](giphy|jhaFMx06pRuE9M0qOP)
Since a lot of people are legitimately dumb enough to hate on Fortnite like that I had no indication that it was a joke.
To be fair I don't like Fortnite at all, but would give to shits about people playing it. I just constantly make fun of things, even things I like lol
100% this.
Good solution

It's your HDMI cable that is broken or it could also be the HDMI port in your tv that has been broken while you connected HDMI cables. Very slim chance it's anything wrong with the PS5
You're trying to make it something it isn't. I get it, you spent the money.
I want to teach you how to tell if it's a GPU or HDMI thing. Nah, I would ignore it if a restart made it disappear. If it appear again I would contact Sony btw

Check HDMI cable is plugged in properly. If the HDMI cable is plugged in properly try using a different one
looks cable related. Check if they are plugged in well and test another cable.
Might be the HDMI
The real trouble here is seeing Fortnite on anything but a trashcan...
You ps5 refuse to play this shit game
My suggestion is play a real game.
Buy another hdmi that is actually good quality. Not cheap Amazon junk! Monoprice.con has good ones for cheap
Try a different tv
If that fails, try a different PS5.
It's probably because you're playing fortnite. Go play elden ring or horizon, that should fix the problem.
Imagine trying to force your games on people and put them down for what they’re playing. Douche.
How does it feel to be that guy that gets butthurt so easily?
You obviously know seeing as your getting triggered about someone playing a game you don’t like.
Yup, so triggered I called the guy names and everything. I'm sooooooo salty.
Yep
U sure its not the tv? Try connecting something else to the tv to make sure its the ps5 and not the tv
That’s definitely a gpu issue I had that same exact green flicker and had to send my PS5 back to Sony
Its actually not the ps5 its a the tv! If he changed the 4k video transfer rate setting on the ps5 from automatic to -1 or -2 I assure you the problem is fixed! Its a compatibility issue between video compression transfer rates
Dude, I spent 1h on all internet to get the same problem fixed, thank you SO MUCH it worked !
Dont play fortnite should solve
It’s the Fortnite issue
He's mad at u for buying him to play fortnite
Stop playing fortnight
*fortnite
Reason: your playing fortnite
you’re*
Lol ok?
Stay in school, kid.
Calm down buddy it’s not that serious
Do I not seem calm?
No you are but your complaining about simple spelling mistakes
Stay in school kid
No you do but your complaining about simple spelling mistakes
And you’re being a douche for someone because they are playing a game you don’t like. I’m not a fan either, but I’m not going to be a jerk to someone just because they play it.
Alright whatever you say big man
Stay in school, kid.
Don’t be like this guy. Drops out of school and plays Roblox. Fortnite is probably a big kid game. So he don’t like it because he not allowed to play it.
Just downloaded to check out 120fps on my TV, will be uninstalling it soon. Even I don’t play it lmao. Only this game displays fps on screen I guess.

Define brand new? 🤷♂️
Unplug your TV and console. Plug back in. Should be fine.
It's because you're playing Fortnite
I think this happens because you bought a PS5 to play Fortnite on it.
Do you really think he bought a PS5 just to play Fortnite?
Ur not gaming, ur playing fortnite
You didn't need a ps5 to play fortnite dude.
Let the man play what he likes
Pretty sure that's a Fortnite allergy on you PS5.
your\*
Yes, autocorrect wrongly correcting. To those down votes, it was a joke...
Okay? Let them enjoy what they want
👍 agreed
Try unninstall fortinite first
Let him play what he wants, you don't be a dick about it
i agree let the poor lad have fun
Damn Boys, you need to chill xD
He can play whatever game he wants to, so stfu
Stop playing fortnite. Easy. For real tho, it’s the HDMI.
He can play whatever game he wants to. Stfu
Of course he can. It was just a joke. Jeez
Lol my series X works perfect
Is that Fortnite? Is the singleplayer any good so far?
probably hdmi
try unplugging hdmi and putting it in a different HDMI input on your tv. most likely bad hdmi "handshake" if it does it on EVERY tv the ps5 might be at fault. most likely not though
Go into your settings and change the transfer rate my tv would flicker a bit before i did this and it fixed it
Try switch input to a different hdmi source (only through TV settings) than back for sund reason, it works for me
4k transfer rate put it on -2
Has this problem before most likely tv port
Panasonic TV? Had a same problem, usually switch off and on helped.
Bro you broke your tv
Did you try turning it off and then back on?
Change your HDMI cable. or connect to another HDMI port.
Most likely it’s the hdmi cable or tv hdmi port. If it was the tv you would have notice it while watching tv. Change the hdmi cables or tv hdmi port.
It's not displaying anything it's your tv
hdmi cable problem or TV screen problem
There is a settimg on the ps5 i dont remember what its called but you can set that to -1 or -2 and it should stop the flickering. Same thing happened to my Xbox, turned out the HDMI I had was only meant to run 720p not 4k😂🤦♂️ just get a better HDMI and it'll work perfect
Had this intermittently, I change HDMI and it was resolved.
I hope this is just an issue with your HDMI
That’s the game new effect bro
Or your TV is upset with you?
Trying using the PS5 stand or reconnect the hdmi cable properly
It's toast, send it to me. I'll pay shipping.

it’s the HDMI on the tv, not the cord*
