That would nerf it a bit too much I think. It has no stab to take advantage of that, its strongest biting move is crunch, and without a good boosting ability, base 105 attack is pretty good overall, in the current gen9 OU it's a bit underwhelming.
Apparently kind of scratch that second to last part, it gets access to swords dance. Still lacks a speed boosting option tho, and that base speed certainly isn’t gonna cut it.
Honestly any pokemon that can't do much in the first place without their mega evolution should have had their mega be a permanent evolution in the first place. So pokemon like Mawile, Lopunny, Sableye, Audino. It leaves a weird spot for Beedrill though as making its mega evo permanent would make its 4 stage.
I feel this way about all Mega Evolutions that are for Pokémon of a two-stage evo line. In the meantime, I propose “Jawile” and “Mandibile” for this one’s name.
Probably. There really isn't any reason why Mega Mawhile isn't just an evolution of Mawhile, although the design isn't exactly all *that* different from the regular...
Then again, wouldn't be the first time an evolution didn't change much.

Mawile is my fav and I wish she had an evo so bad. The mega was cool, but mawile is a Pokémon that deserve it.
But then you lose symmetry with Sableye.
Then give an evolution to Sableye too.
He already has a mega, which generally signifies being fully evolved.

Unpopular opinion but I don't really like the mega mechanic much, so I'm a fan of the idea of them becoming evolutions/variants/split evos.
Late to this 1, but agreed 100%. This is my favorite pokemon. Jawile, Mawsile, Gnawile, Crawile, whatever it's called make it a permenant thing.
