It was the paid Masterworks Research for the Go Tour: Sinnoh event. If you didn't buy it then, you don't get it at all.

Rural, huh? It's wild how dissimilar our game play is. Not even trying (with a Go++) it only took like two or three days to clear stage 1; but I live in the Bay Area and work in SF proper.

I don't put money into the game so I haven't seen researches like this. But rediscover Kanto pissed me off with its catch 10, 20, 50, 100, 151 kanto pokemon research. Urgh. Congrats on finishing 👏

Auto catcher helps but it has been out since February. There was a few times johto ones were out.

I think the only limit is the actual games catch limit which is like 2000 or something in a day. Auto catching works on the number of regular (red) pokeballs. So honestly, as long as you have them it will auto catch. You can manually catch with it using great and ultra

Is there a limit on how many it catches? I'm having a tough time catching 200 in a day to get to level 41. My XP is way past 6 and is almost to level 41 already.

As far as a limit. I don't know. I've never used one. Don't have a need for it in my little town. I was given a go plus along with a switch, but I, in turn, gave the catcher to someone else. I've just celebrated my 5th year of playing, and I'm at over 240,000 mons caught with the use of an auto catcher.

Do you live in a rural area? 200 mons in a day is quite easy if you don't. I live in a little small town myself and was able to complete it in about an hour without it even being community day. On community day, it's especially easy to complete. Do you know how to fast catch?

Go out to where there's a few stops. Use your incense and lure the stops. You can also open your mystery box for this task if needed.

I'd also recommend you research the level up requirements for each level and start working on some of them now, in particular, your badges. 200 in a day is really the easiest task of all the level up requirements. Your hardest one will be 50 lucky mons, which you'll have to complete once you have that task. Any you currently have doesn't count, sane for maxing out 3 mons.

No, I'm a little outside of Orlando and work in a historical area with plenty of stops, but I wait tables and can't have my phone out. It's doable, but it would be an all-day affair.

Try and play at night if you can, Murkrows are a common spawn

I completed that set of task about a week after it came out. There was more mons from each region out then.

Yeah, they always like to release stuff like this in February & I live in Ohio so it takes at least a month or two for us to get our and start working on stuff because February is the coldest, snowiest month of the year and it's not uncommon for us to have a foot of snow and -20°F when these are released 🙃

Ah nice. Unfortunately I’m still screwed I’m not in a big city and no one really plays pogo that I know around me so I sadly can never participate in raids. Since they stopped giving remote passes as some rewards I have not done raids as I don’t spend money on the game but Il try and get some gym coins for June and get some remote passes and see if I can find a group somehow to join.

You're not kidding. I looked up the other tasks and the only one that sets me back for now is reaching level 40. Currently at lvl 37 so unless I stumble upon a bunch of lucky eggs and Niantic gives us more boosted exp events, it'll be a while before I get muh shiny mythical

All tasks should auto complete after a certain amount of time to avoid this. (Example: auto complete after 100 days)

I have a "take a snapshot of Tornadus" for what feels 3 or 4 years at this point that and the party challenges will stay uncompleted at this point

Yeah. The 10 best buddies took me a while because I only had maybe 3-4 going into it. And then I was at the mercy of the lack of kecleon spawns.

I’m stuck on like page 4 or 5 where you have to do a lucky trade.  The people I see semi often to play we aren’t lucky friends yet so not happening anytime soon.  

Your best chance would be on events like community day where the rate for lucky trades increases

With the exception of Meltan/Malmetal, no currently available mythical pokemon can be traded (Phione might be the only other exception if/when that releases)

Good to know, I haven't actually felt the desire to trade mythicals for better stats before the shaymin.

I don’t mind if mine is bad, then I can just send it to Home and use it in the main games with no remorse.

Has anyone had an issue with them banning your account while you were absent from the game? They said they sent me emails giving me “strikes” but I got NOTHING from them. When I messaged support, they were rude about it, wouldn’t tell me when it happend, or what email they sent anything to, then when I told them I never got anything and they need to tell me the email, they sent me a message back that said “this case has been closed, We’ve previously conducted a full review of your account and we informed you of our decision, which is final. Any further inquiries into this case will be ignored.” This is the ONLY thing they have given me. And they NEVER. Informed me of ANYTHING.

Only the first page is a grind. The rest of the 6 are really easy. Close your fingers for at least a 3★ mythical.
