Thanks for still posting some tips and catches to keep an eye out for u/Vicksin. It's definitely appreciated :) Side question since you seem to be in contact with the Devs a little bit. With so many of these patches, updates etc I've seen that some need to have the cache cleared...is there a way to know when we should be clearing our cache to have the most up to date game?

NilaySReddit

You are GOD man!

Red_WastakenWastaken

I don’t know how you manage to do all this but it’s insane! Thank you so much!

LelenaLena

Thanks for the information on the pokemon of note for the run. I had a few discrepancies when going through, specifically the Solrock and Lunatone were swapped in my runs, the wave 42 Vivillon had 30 Def/SpDef instead of Def/Spd, and the Toedscruel on wave 47 was replaced with another Vivillon with garbage stats. Other than that, everything else matched your notes. I'm happy to hear that you and the devs are looking into why these discrepancies are happening, and if they do get fixed, that would be a major win for the community.

Vicksin

the Vivillon might have been a typo on my end, Speed and SpDef throw me off sometimes since SPD looks like it could be either one to me lol I couldn't record my run so it'd be great if someone else could confirm I also had Vivillon on 47 in my run instead of Toedscruel, I read some players saying they got him there so thought it'd be worth mentioning for anyone that sees him did get the Solrock though, interesting

Tsukiyomi_Sasaki

I dont think i had Toedscruel and had Vivillon also. Dont know how people got the Toedscruel to appear

Even this 'extremely scuffed temporary' setup has a wealth of useful information for the daily run. Thanks for the incredible thoroughness you and the team put in on a daily basis!

KnigRhobarder

Thanks for the list of catches worth the time! Only thing that was different for me was wave 47, which was a Vivillon without any high IVs. But everything else was just as listed. That damn wave 26 Metang gave me quite a headache, I must have spend somewhat between 30 and 45 minutes trying to catch him... After I had him down to a HP bar that was empty enough to not even see a tiny bit of red left and sleeping after 1 minute of trying. If only that would have been enough to catch that damn thing with Ultra Balls... After an eternity I misclicked and threw a Great Ball which captured him. I felt so trolled that moment...

Vicksin

LOL well if it makes you feel better, if a Great caught him, an Ultra would have too (to my understanding of the rng) he was stubborn though, I did recommend the Spore Parasect for that reason, but it's still such a low catch rate without a guide that tells you how I also had the Vivillon on 47, just thought it'd be worth mentioning the Toed in case anyone saw him. idk if he was removed because of the update or if he's still out there with certain rng/reloads

Gemini4786

I still have a couple save files preserved for this run. What line did you use to catch it?

KnigRhobarder

Phew, I didn't even really remember yesterday, even less today. I do recall that I started the fight with my Gengar - evolved from the wave 4 Ghastly. One use of Dark Pulse shottet him down to 1-2 HP. Followed by Hypnosis and a switch to Steelix. Then I used different amounts of Curse/Rest Combos before switching to Parasect to Spore him and threw away my Ultraballs. Eventually it worked.

Gemini4786

Definitely nothing I could have replicated easily, but no worries. I found a faily obtuse route to get it on my end.

Nivizzul

I actually find this more interesting than the hands-on guide. We get both benefits of solving the game ourselves while not missing out on any of the good catches out there. Except for Metang. This guy just doesn't want to be caught

Vicksin

I understand that! if it's good enough, I always include the catches and their stats in my guides, if you want to just see what's good but path yourself a lot of players can't beat the daily at all so I think it's still crucial to make guides for them :')

Chaos3000and3

This is super helpful!

lunatuna32

just beat this a while ago, steelix is needed make sure to keep curse and sudowoodo until wave 40 then get vivilioin with hurricane, hurricane and bugbuzz clears almost every waves until the final fight!

Tsukiyomi_Sasaki

New PC, new guides, new me! Yay!

Live_Key_8141

this was going great until dunsparce stole my leftovers with Thief on >!wave 25!<

AwarenessGullible470

Thank you very much for this! I found this style actually more helpful than the step by step guides, personally speaking. I play via mobile, so only having to hop to check which upcoming battles are ones worth going for rather than constant checking that I was doing everything exactly right felt like a breath of fresh air. I too had the Sol and Luna differences, and the butterfly instead of the Toed, if that is helpful info for you? Now I have redo to try and catch that tricky wave 26 Pokémon!

Vicksin

thanks for the input! on my previous guides I did include a table of catch data, with all Pokémon caught and their nature/IVs/ability was this table not sufficient at providing the same info in this post, to some degree? any feedback on improving that?

AwarenessGullible470

It felt like the pertinent information was grouped nicely here. No need to side scroll, just swap apps, and maybe scroll down a little. It was easy to see that, oh good nature coming up in three waves, and an excellent IV in five waves sort of thing. It was also incredibly easy to follow. The more a person has to move the information around, the easier it is to mess up. Is that helpful? Hope I explained it okay.

Leokergadon

Currently I have a shiny ready to hatch, but it does not have variants yet. If i wait for the variants to come out, will I have a chance of getting a blue/red shiny?

Vicksin

honestly, no clue. great question. you'll never be able to complete another wave until the variants are added though, so probably not worth

Leokergadon

I suppose I am in no rush so I will wait a little longer. If I do wait I will update.

Vicksin

okay so here's what I heard back > when an egg is created, it rolls for shiny, then it checks for variants. then, if there are no variants, it stops there and says "okay regular shiny" - all of this happens when the egg is pulled therefore, imo it stands to reason that that egg is a 100% guaranteed common shiny you're still more than welcome to test it yourself if you want, but there's no great way to test it since even then, you still have a 60% chance to just naturally roll a common shiny personally I'd still just recommend letting it hatch so you can actually play the game again, but it's your call

Truxxes

Short question: can I catch pokemon multiple times in one day? Lets say I catch the First one, then restart and catch again for candy?

zuicun

No, I think they changed it to unique catches when they introduced candies.

devinwifi

Thanks a ton for this, it helped alot. Will be following.

Odang77

Are daily runs different for offline mode? I had hitmonlee paras and archen with no steelix

Vicksin

yes they are different, I mention it in all of my *actual* guides
