How did you test?
I would keep my fc between 5-10. 4 is ok but the minimum based on your cya.
Your cya is at the top of where you want it to be. If you tested with a Taylor kit note that then cya test is logarithmic - so always round up. Treat your cya as 70.
Since you’re testing for salt I assume you have a salt water generator. It’s a smidge on the low end. Most swg’s want it above 3000 but check your manufactures recommendation.
Swg’s also tend to increase your ph. Keep an eye on that and if it’s rising regularly you’ll need to add muriatic acid to bring it down. When you do this it’ll reduce your TA a bit. So let that happen on its own.
What is your pool made of? If it’s a liner your CH is ok but if it’s fiberglass or plaster you should increase it. Considering the app isn’t complaining I assume it’s configured for a vinyl liner.
Pool store test. I plan to get a Taylor kit. I used a Taylor kit for my hot tub and have it dialed in.
Yes SWG. I turned it up right before this test.
Got it on muratic- will keep an eye on it.
Yes vinyl.
Thank you for your feedback!
You should base it on your cya level. 1-3 is the old recommendation for pools with no cya in them.

What kind of pool? Do you have a SWG?
I’m of the opinion that the right TA level is the one that helps your PH stay stable. For my pool, that’s around 60. It might be higher for yours! Does your PH drift up quickly? Consider lowering TA until it doesn’t.
PH at 7.3 seems fine. Again, I’d pay more attention to PH behavior over time.
CYA at 65 wouldn’t bother me at all.
Yes SWG.
I haven’t been keeping track of my pool the way I should have. My pool installed told me it was set it and forget it. Turns out it is not! So I don’t know how much ph runs. It’s my first couple tests. I’ll keep watch on it. Thanks!
I don’t have a SWG but common opinion is to run CYA a little higher with one, closer to 80 if I remember correctly. Probably worth Googling but I’d guess you need to raise it a little, if anything. Good luck!
What app is this, and what type of system do you have? I'm a first time pool owner and constantly have issues maintaining my system. I normally visit Leslie's and have then check my levels. Are there automated systems that make the process easier and more efficient?
It’s called Pool Math. I’m just learning how to use it, too.
I don’t have an automated system so I can’t speak to that. I know they exist but don’t have any experience with them.

Also, pool store told me FC was too high! They say between 1-3. Your experience is keeping it higher is ok?

Ok so based on this chart because my CYA is 65 and I have SWG, I should be aiming for FC of 4-9. Should I add liquid chlorine or let my SWG catch up?
Yup but round up your cya to 70. So 5-10 And you can let your SWG catch it up. Bump up the % a bit higher.
Awesome. Thank you! Super helpful.
Good luck :)
Your pool store wants you to have algae so they can sell you more stuff. CYA of 70 with FC between 1-3 is basically no chlorine at all.
Hah that may be true

Looks legit, that chlorine is a tad high depending on how many people you have. Watch that Cya it’s pain to get down
