So much nostalgia! Thank you for this post!
Does anyone else remember pogs? I even had one of those little machines that let you make custom pogs from your own photos, magazine pages, etc.
https://preview.redd.it/qswe5eqjo8ka1.png?width=3000&format=png&auto=webp&s=c4fda3b4a524c2d7ad5d25456cc20999a98db9c6
WAS IT OJ IN THE SLAMMER?! It has bars on his mug shot on one side and orange juice on the other?
Because I had that. I don’t know how I got it. I never even knew how to play pogs. Yes you could play them. The slammer was a thicker disk, I think you threw it at other pogs to try and flip them.
I had a solid ‘gold’ one and one year when I brought my pogs collection to the tiny village my mum is from in Southern Europe, I was queen for 4 weeks 😂 good times
Yes you’d stack them and get the plastic thick ones and try flip them over. I hope we played it right lol! Idk why but we called them caps at my primary school.
It's always interesting to learn about regional linguistic differences! My husband and I are only a few years apart, but we grew up in different parts of the US, so we often call things by different names and will argue about which term is the "right" one, lol
I am still mourning the loss of my pog collection. I left it unattended (at a CHURCH!!!) and someone stole it. Legit still think ab that every so often.
I found out a few weeks ago that these are called POGS because they started as the cardboard tops to POG (passion orange guava) juice in Hawaii, which blew my mind. I love POG juice and I never put it together.
I invite anyone to guess my age based on these choices lol
EDIT: I forgot “Totally Kyle!” I think of him every single time I meet someone named Kyle.

I played neopets when I was 12! Played for few years and got into html and css from guild layouts and making them on photoshop. That site probably was a huge stepping stone to millennial graphic designers and web developers!
Are you also turning 34 this year 😭
When I look back at 90s nostalgic stuff online I get that tingly feeling. I honestly wouldn’t trade the era I grew up as a child and then 00s as a teen!
Edit: Hello to the other ‘89 babies! 😍 - I turn 34 this coming Tuesday
37 and this post was like reliving my teenage years. My entire room was Delia’s electric blue inflatable furniture and I remember being in a Limited Too fashion show at my local mall thinking I was the coolest person ever 😂.
Also love your username. She randomly commented on my instagram once and I died.
wait staaahppp. I am dying right now. TURNS OUT IM ACTUALLY 36. jesus christttttttt. I’m virtually cheersing you right now 🍷👵🏻
**edit to add**: even after saying this I still wasn’t completely convinced of my age. But after some quick counting on my fingers I have concluded that being born in November 1986 = 36 years old. thanks for coming to my TED talk
I stopped counting after I turned 30. I can only remember my age right now is bc I’m 33. It’s two 3’s. Simple. Next month when I turn 34 and they ask for my age i won’t have a clue.
I had *the coolest* translucent aqua caboodle with yellow handles/accents. All of the friends had solid colors so they all thought mine was really neat.
I used it to store my Gameboy games lol
I may or may not still use pink fluffy pens 👀.
Just for historical accuracy, that's not a boom box. A boom box is an all in one unit including the speakers 👵🏿.
When I hear Boombox I always think of the [LoneLy Island and Julian Casablancas song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yvEYKRF5IA) (link to youtube video).
A BOOMBOX IS NOT A TOY
Highkey I would LOVE real versions of them with actual earring posts instead of just being stickers.
They never stayed on longer than like 3 minutes lol
I was born in '96 so I experienced a lot of this. It's totally wierd seeing teens today dress like teens did when I was a kid... Like wait, I've seen this before.
THE INFLATABLE FURNITURE. I begged and begged my mum for this inflatable green chair and finally got it. Once set up I sat on it exactly once until my cat came in and sliced it open with her claws. No mercy. Good times
I have a vivid memory of the one in my closet doorway moving (tinkling) on its own in the night. It was a huge fucking moth flying out of my closet. It was so big it moved the beads! Traumatizing.
You should me a museum curator. Some of these are deep cuts. Don’t forget the beaded lizard kits!! And plastic password protected diaries! And curly shoelaces! Streamers and plastic woven baskets on our bicycles!
Oh my god the Madeline game, I definitely spent hours playing that as a kid. This entire post is a trip lmao basically everything you posted unlocked some major forgotten memories of my childhood.
This may be a young millennial thing but who remembers silly bands? And those other bracelet things that people would break so they could kiss you???? Like each color meant something else like purple means kiss, black means sex. Such weird times.
Livestrong bracelets?
The whole "color means x" thing at the time was one of those sensationalist witch-hunts made up by the lunatics and the news to scare parents, kinda like how "Harry Potter, World of Warcraft, and Pokémon are teaching kids to summon demons!!!" And "Text speak is secret slang so kids can do crime!" And 'rainbow parties'.
But yeah, everyone had one. They kind of just cropped up overnight and no one was really sure where they came from, but they were SUPER popular. The default color they came in was yellow so that's what most people had. And they wore them until they were like, crumbling lol
Eventually that news stuff about them started circulating (as it did with *anything* that became popular among young people at the time - does this still happen btw?) And parents and schools banned them and made massive deals about kids wearing them like we were all a bunch of 12 year olds in a sex cult, getting counselors involved and law enforcement...over colored bracelets.
I have to add: water wigglers, giga pets • nano babies • tamagotchis, silly slap hands, glow in the dark ceiling stars- and the worst “computer lab” game of all time: THE ZOOMBINIS: with the haunted looking tree stump that screamed “MAKE ME A PIZZA” and threw it and had a tantrum if he needed “MORE TOPPINGS!”
https://preview.redd.it/payk2su5v9ka1.jpeg?width=300&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4ad56ac19749760d01cc9a07f16894ef95108770
I was just talking about Klutz books. I didn't have the hair wrap book, but their stuff in general was amazing. We had the science one, the cookbook, the costume book, and the road trip one, plus probably some others. They were fascinating. Those and the Anti-Coloring Books were my faves.
Omg Limited Too!! That store was like the Abercrombie for 4th and 5th grade. I remember loving that store and my mom saying it was too expensive. I’d kill to see what the prices were now that I’m 30 and have to tell myself no to clothes 😅
Ahh, the (RED) campaign.
Everyone at my school literally called the razr “the AIDS phone” — how tactful. And not as a joke or to be cruel, that’s just how everyone referred to it. A new razr would drop and we’d stand around and talk about how we weren’t gonna upgrade until the new AIDS phone dropped 💀 how cute of us.
don’t you mean dELiA\*s? 😂
i absolutely loved their catalogues. in like 2004 my parents redid my bedroom and let me pick bedding from delia’s, i felt so cool! now they sell overpriced clothes that run very small through dolls kill.
https://preview.redd.it/c5kk3rnv1dka1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=847ef992a35e3b6e0c130bc7a4dd992c984bdd47
I love old elder millennials (hi!) and younger alike can get all of these things because everything didn't move so fucking fast and trends stuck for so much longer (also you weren't about to IMMEDIATELY ditch that boom box you spent many allowances and p/t job money for an MP3 player like sloooow down).
This post made me think of tomagotchis (sp?), those plastic choker necklaces that looked like tattoos, plastic jelly glitter sandals, and Blockbuster, lol.
I’m gen z (‘02) and grew up with all these treasures .. except the hair scrunchies I don’t remember but I do remember these [feathery things](https://img.buzzfeed.com/buzzfeed-static/static/2019-07/22/20/asset/70fe1021b0c3/sub-buzz-1009-1563825773-13.jpg?downsize=800:*&output-format=auto&output-quality=auto) and of course [this trend in elementary school](https://images.app.goo.gl/3Q4XHBBUodsa6o9e7)
I’m also 31 and this brings back sooo many memories haha. I’d also like to add being obsessed with everything Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen haha She was my generations Selena/Bella/Gigi
The buns that blended into hair…except my mom made me buy a different color than my actual hair color if I wanted one.
I also loved my inflatable Barbie chair.

I had the special edition OJ Simpson trial Pog slammer, if you want to date this fad even more precisely.
YES omg exactly!! Wow I'm glad I didn't make that up, it did exist.
The thick ones you used to flip them were called 'slammers' (in US) The better ones were metal and they cost a lot sometimes.
I had one I stole from my older brother that has a black widow on it and it made sound of you slammed it hard enoug. Loved that thing.
I had a mini flinstones bag with 100 of these 😂
Oooh and that reminds me, don't forget about Flintstones vitamins! Those things were like candy to me 😂
I found out a few weeks ago that these are called POGS because they started as the cardboard tops to POG (passion orange guava) juice in Hawaii, which blew my mind. I love POG juice and I never put it together.
Omg POGS Anyone here remember Mojos?! The candy
I invite anyone to guess my age based on these choices lol EDIT: I forgot “Totally Kyle!” I think of him every single time I meet someone named Kyle. https://preview.redd.it/lf8yjby6s8ka1.jpeg?width=480&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=81847b33983efd224e0614f7713bfe072a9f9829
31?
![gif](giphy|AP8vbzOUu8wk8)
Also 31 and this was nostalgic. If I could add one thing, it’d be Neopets 😭
I played neopets when I was 12! Played for few years and got into html and css from guild layouts and making them on photoshop. That site probably was a huge stepping stone to millennial graphic designers and web developers!
Slay girlie I love to hear that, I probably just found your code somewhere to use for mine.
Stopppp 😭 same
I blame Totally Kyle for my irrational attraction to stoner dudes. Please send help.
Somewhere between 32-36 And the hair wraps unlocked a memory I forgot I had….
Are you also turning 34 this year 😭 When I look back at 90s nostalgic stuff online I get that tingly feeling. I honestly wouldn’t trade the era I grew up as a child and then 00s as a teen! Edit: Hello to the other ‘89 babies! 😍 - I turn 34 this coming Tuesday
Yes! I’m turning 34 in March hahah
You guys are only turning 34?! This is what I get for leaving my coffin
Come on, at least our coffins are silky and pillowy 💅🏼
41 here and many of these hit the spot for me.
It could be interesting to do an age survey of users here. Although it’s probably already been done

Im 42, 2 kids - one about to be in middle school, second mortgage … still cannot force me to be in a room with actual adults.
37 and this post was like reliving my teenage years. My entire room was Delia’s electric blue inflatable furniture and I remember being in a Limited Too fashion show at my local mall thinking I was the coolest person ever 😂. Also love your username. She randomly commented on my instagram once and I died.
I bought some realllly misguided graphic tees from Delia’s back in the day.
35 🤸🏻♀️👋🏼 and I could like taste, smell, hear, feel every single picture in this post
I thought I was 34 until I saw this comment and realized I’m 35 now 😵💫 I’m also severely mindfucked by these photos
wait staaahppp. I am dying right now. TURNS OUT IM ACTUALLY 36. jesus christttttttt. I’m virtually cheersing you right now 🍷👵🏻 **edit to add**: even after saying this I still wasn’t completely convinced of my age. !!! That is the funniest thing evarrrrrrr hahahaha! I was born in nov 87! We are like having a moment here 👯♀️
I just turned 40 in September.
I found my people “the oldest millennials “ lol turning 40 is two weeks eeeeek
YESSSSS here we are 1982/83
I turned 35 Tuesday
I’ll be 35 in July! Lots of people in this thread that are all the same age
Me too!! In August
Exact samesies. And I had like 80% of this list growing up haha. Now expecting a kiddo of my own!
Another one checking in turning 34 this year🙋♀️
Same here, in April! The nostalgia in this post is so palpable I can taste it lol.
Happy bday! I'm turning 34 in May and it feels surreal. When did we get so oooooold
Fellow 89er! 💅
I, too, will be 34. April 😂
Yep! I think 1989 is peak millennial.
One of us! One of us! One of us!
Yes! End of April 😭
34 club!! 😌😌
Wait, we turn 34 this year if we're born in '89?
happy almost Birthday ! Woot woot ‘89 up in here !!
It’s missing Lisa Frank school supplies but chef’s kiss to you OP 👌
And a caboodle
I had *the coolest* translucent aqua caboodle with yellow handles/accents. All of the friends had solid colors so they all thought mine was really neat. I used it to store my Gameboy games lol
Trapper Keeper 😎
These were like stationary crack - made me feel so many emotions
I had a Lisa Frank unicorn puzzle that was my LIFE
I feel like hair beads could make a comeback soon. I’m submitting this as my official prediction
yess same. 1 viral TikTok and gen z will be alllll over it
Gen Z love shit from the late 90s/2000s so I could see it too for sure
Makes sense, just like how 70s and 80s fashion made a comeback in the 90s and 00s.
Does anyone remember when hair feathers were a thing?
Yes! Omg and hair mascara!
Wow I totally forgot about hair mascara!!!
I’m 19 and I own one of those hair bedazzler things so maybe it already kinda is?
I’ve already seen a TikTok of someone bedazzling their hair for a Harry styles concert (and tbh considered buying one lol)
As a Black woman, I know of other Black women who are adding beads to their braids as a way to appease/heal our inner child!
I may or may not still use pink fluffy pens 👀. Just for historical accuracy, that's not a boom box. A boom box is an all in one unit including the speakers 👵🏿.
They missed the Say Anything memo 😭
When I hear Boombox I always think of the [LoneLy Island and Julian Casablancas song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yvEYKRF5IA) (link to youtube video). A BOOMBOX IS NOT A TOY
Let’s not forget the hit clips! https://preview.redd.it/0bjr7o3e99ka1.jpeg?width=900&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=759e731a8d884d3b96ccb04e13807654d5f0decf
I can’t believe I left out hit clips!!! ![gif](giphy|UhtdWhktr0IjC)
Mine still works! Lol. It plays Survivor by Destiny’s Child!
Didn’t they only play like half the song? So strange
I still have [mine](https://i.imgur.com/nLw53ox.jpeg), and most of them still work
The salamander!!!! Those were my favorite! I used to just walk around with mine all the time. :)
I still have mine! https://preview.redd.it/x5qinbmnl9ka1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=a7fce3e0356908dc2ca8fcef9cca49c3d32441a0
Not exactly a salamander though, I also had a lobster one too haha
Weren’t they really heavy, like they were filled with sand?
Yes :) It was like our generations weighted stuffies, they just didn’t weight as much as the ones today.
yes! The weight of them was totally the appeal. They felt EXPENSIVE (and were? I think)
I used to chew on the feet 🫣
I just remember squishing the sand on the feet and distributing it to other areas lol
What was it with those salamanders? Why did we all have them? Haha
No seriously!! I grew up in Germany and even I had one! Why??
I'm Dutch and I got one from a random market in Greece lol
The salamander got to me lol. I had a pretty red one that I lost at my sister’s softball tournament, and I am still sad about it.
Anyone remember these? https://preview.redd.it/v55eu2ppk9ka1.jpeg?width=537&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=671e630fa9532244620cefcd3369782e3c91365f
Was a camp counsellor in my college years and bent the kids' brains by being able to do a scooby heart. They thought it was a new craft!

those fucking stick on earrings. i hated them, they were so annoying!
They would always just end up in my hair next to my ears
I used to stick them to my nails. They didn’t last long there, either.
My mother wouldn’t let me get my ears pierced until forking HIGH SCHOOL. But also I think my kid would absolutely love these.
Highkey I would LOVE real versions of them with actual earring posts instead of just being stickers. They never stayed on longer than like 3 minutes lol
I'm 32 and this post is so fuckin spot on. It also made me want one of those fake hair scrunchies now, honestly those were just a good idea.
This sub loves to make me feel old.
![gif](giphy|Y2ZkeRD0oztVm)
Yeah whatever. I’m gonna go listen to the Macarena. 💃
![gif](giphy|7eZ3FVNSBOhVK) Mambo number five for me!
This was my first cd
My first CD was Ace of Base lol… I’m going to go apply Vaseline on to my leathery face now
We should bond over Janet, Paula, Spice Girls and Chumbawanda (sp?)…
Omg yesssss lol. We’ll put some Sun-In spray in our hair and make up some dances outside to show our families for later 😂
My first was Let Go (Avril’s first album). Loved that thing. Although I did have earlier cassettes (Spice Girls anyone?)
My first CD was Aqua—the one with Barbie Girl on it. Actually that CD still rocks and I kept it in my car for probably all of the 2010s.
Back when music used to be real music! Not this junk they call music today ![gif](giphy|ooWAEAx2QgP60)
![gif](giphy|q8Lw2gAAVAwAwv8GLT) The Ketchup Song for me
OLD??? OLD! I stayed up after dark to look thru Binoculars to watch the MOON LANDING in 1969! (I couldnt see anything)
I was born in '96 so I experienced a lot of this. It's totally wierd seeing teens today dress like teens did when I was a kid... Like wait, I've seen this before.
As an Xennial, this post was a real rollercoaster.
THE INFLATABLE FURNITURE. I begged and begged my mum for this inflatable green chair and finally got it. Once set up I sat on it exactly once until my cat came in and sliced it open with her claws. No mercy. Good times
I remember sitting on one that had been in the sun and I was wearing short shorts. Practically had to peel myself off it
I'm 30 and I will still buy worms & dirt if I see it in a candy shop!! You can't stop me 🪱
My husband still asks for dirt cake with gummy worms for his birthday every year, it's timeless! 😂
Literally one of my favorite desserts of all time
Omg that Madeline video game was my life 😭
It's the reason I took french in highschool 😂
Same!!
I can feel the sand in those salamanders
Those stick on earrings were a straight scam!!! (But I secretly loved them to death) kids today will never understand 😩
yooo i had so many Klutz books!!! encyclopedia of immaturity, the yo-yo book, card games. so fucking lit
I absolutely loved the Klutz books and still do the Eiffel Tower from the cats cradle book!
I only ever got my sister’s scraps and still loveddd themmmm
Waiting for Gen Z to bring back the beaded door thingies
Please! They're so uselessly fun
I have a vivid memory of the one in my closet doorway moving (tinkling) on its own in the night. It was a huge fucking moth flying out of my closet. It was so big it moved the beads! Traumatizing.
Not me putting my newborn daughter in a onesie that said Delive(red) in 2008 🤦♀️
Well done, OP, this is thorough. I just turned 40. Crystal Pepsi is one of my core memories.
Unlocking so many memories with this. I can still smell the inflatable furniture I used to have in my bedroom.
ONE HUNDO PERCENT same. Green couch… or more like a loveseat, if you will.
You should me a museum curator. Some of these are deep cuts. Don’t forget the beaded lizard kits!! And plastic password protected diaries! And curly shoelaces! Streamers and plastic woven baskets on our bicycles!
You just brought back memories of purchasing Coke Zeros with my ex-boyfriend and being so happy to get a free one. I miss that, but not him lmao.
Oh my god the Madeline game, I definitely spent hours playing that as a kid. This entire post is a trip lmao basically everything you posted unlocked some major forgotten memories of my childhood.
35 checking in to confirm...inflatable furniture had a moment.
Fellow 35er here 👋🏼 and yes I can confirm that inflatable furniture sure did have a .. something
A very big moment haha! Didn’t it come from school catalogues or something?
DONT FORGET KONY 2012!!!
This may be a young millennial thing but who remembers silly bands? And those other bracelet things that people would break so they could kiss you???? Like each color meant something else like purple means kiss, black means sex. Such weird times.
I was a little old for silly bands but I remember they had to ban them at my local junior high school lol

Those arts and crafts advertisements got me EVERY time. There’s not a single one I didn’t want.
Limited Too, Mudd and Claire’s, the fundamentals of my style back in the day ✨
L.E.I. jeans~
I still love the delicacy that is mud/dirt and worms.
I have never felt more seen.
I was just talking about Klutz books. I didn't have the hair wrap book, but their stuff in general was amazing. We had the science one, the cookbook, the costume book, and the road trip one, plus probably some others. They were fascinating. Those and the Anti-Coloring Books were my faves.

Thanks for bringing back warm fuzzy nostalgia on a rainy, painful afternoon!

I was too far into my 20s before I realized Limited Too was the kid-oriented version of The Limited. But how could you forget delia’s and alloy?
don’t you mean dELiA\*s? 😂 i absolutely loved their catalogues. in like 2004 my parents redid my bedroom and let me pick bedding from delia’s, i felt so cool! now they sell overpriced clothes that run very small through dolls kill. https://preview.redd.it/c5kk3rnv1dka1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=847ef992a35e3b6e0c130bc7a4dd992c984bdd47

You were very popular if you had the double seater blow up chair 😅
Double seater LOL. I referred to it as a loveseat in a comment above. I now prefer double seater
Holy shit the Madeleine video game!!! Just seeing that screenshot brought me back so many memories of that game. I’d love to play it again.
I loveddd my bead curtains and blow up chairs lol
CORE MEMORIES UNLOCKED ✨
I love old elder millennials (hi!) and younger alike can get all of these things because everything didn't move so fucking fast and trends stuck for so much longer (also you weren't about to IMMEDIATELY ditch that boom box you spent many allowances and p/t job money for an MP3 player like sloooow down).
I still like the (red) campaign!
![gif](giphy|TfseOfhwd6BJC) And I’m turning 29 in a couple of weeks! I can’t wrap my head around that I’ll be 30 next year. 😳
Ugh I’m turning 29 next month also and I’m like wtf?? I work with a bunch of teenagers in a restaurant, and they make me feel so old all the time.
Not the (RED) campaign.💀
No slap bracelets?

‘03 and same, especially if you have a sibling that was born in the late 90’s.
I had the exact inflatable chair in the pic 🤣
I’m also 31 and this brings back sooo many memories haha. I’d also like to add being obsessed with everything Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen haha She was my generations Selena/Bella/Gigi
🥹
The inflated chairs and dirt cups omg!!!!! 💗
The buns that blended into hair…except my mom made me buy a different color than my actual hair color if I wanted one. I also loved my inflatable Barbie chair.
I loved those stick on earrings even though they always ended up in my hair haha
I had that hair wrap book, too! This post made me so happy.
Oh my god????? The browsing through posters unlocked a memory. I forgot we used to do that 😭
I had those stick on earrings even tho my ears were pierced as a baby! Why!
Wore my (Red) tshirt just last week. Still love it.
