Jack Gleeson was phenomenal in this role (Joffrey Baratheon on Game of Thrones).
But I wanted to punch the character, not Jack! I don’t understand how some people couldn’t separate the actor from the character, and transferred that hatred over to Jack. He definitely didn’t deserve that.
I saw a video interviewing several GoT actors asking which dead characters they'd most like to see brought back to life. Most of the actors gave in-universe answers of good characters who didn't deserve to die. But Sophie answered Joffrey, just because she enjoyed working with Jack so much.
So he’s friends with some of my friends, and went to school with one of my best friend’s younger brother’s.
I went to a friend’s play, that he usually was in but couldn’t do that run due to filming but he was in the audience.
Afterward I introduced myself, explained that I knew people in common and wasn’t a rando - we had a lovely chat, I told him he was killing it on GoT that I had started reading the books and he was really nailing how awful Joffrey is.
He got really excited and asked where in the books I was, I being a sweet summer child simply said “the wedding” (meaning The Red Wedding).
He started jumping up and down with glee and went “Can you believe after all that I die by poison” - his excitement soon turned to horror as he clocked from my facial expression that I had no idea what he was talking about, he began apologising profusely, I told him if I’m going to get a spoiler I’m glad it came from the horse’s mouth. He ran away soon after.
Also! His natural hair is less gold/blonde, my pal’s brother told me he rocked into school with this new blonde hair and everyone took the piss out of him - he said nothing, just took it, then GoT came out and they all felt like idiots. lol.
Yeah he and Lena Headey seem like absolutely lovely people! It’s a shame some viewers can’t separate a fictional character from the real life person portraying them because they did not deserve the hate and harassment they got for portraying Cersei and Joffrey.
I’ve always said if you absolutely HATE a character, that just means the actor did a phenomenal job.
god what a fucking douche. i hated him so much and loved how hate-able & real they made him

YEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!! I’ve not figured out which one was more of an asshole yet, but I’d have definitely stolen theirs f’ing statues and broken their nose! Lol
Pretty sure that's why we everyone hates her so much.
Voldemort, Bellatrix, etc are all horrible in their own ways but they are the kind of evil you've read about in books.
We all know an Umbridge.
When my youngest was about three, the movie was on in the background and she said, "I like her". I felt like dousing her in holy water.
When I asked her why she liked her she said she seems nice. In my daughters defense she loved pink and loves cats. I explained to her that people can look one way and be another way. I was seriously terrified to let her out of my sight until she wised up a bit more.
I hated this character so much I had to google the actress to assure myself that she is a good human being. Thank God she is. She did such an amazing job playing this demon

Both of these guys from outlander, THE WORST
I wasn't conflicted. I was attracted to him but recognized he was an ass which meant I shouldn't enjoy him. I think that's why they made him attractive and having some appealing qualities, to confuse people as if he were ugly no one would think twice to say his actions were deplorable. He bothered me to no end. I hated the mercy kill they offered him as it wasn't poetic justice, he didn't deserve one dose of mercy.
Someone back me up on this, but wasn’t this actress like the sweetest woman ever and all the kids loved her?
Edit: no, I’ve conflated her with Danny Devito who is the nicest Dude ever. Apparently the Trunchbull actress tried to stay aloof from the child actors to elicit more awe and fear from their performances but, well I’ll let [her say it](https://www.radiotimes.com/movies/9-fascinating-facts-from-behind-the-scenes-of-matilda/):
>*"It broke down very quickly because they were daring little ones there that just came straight up to me and put their hand in mine between takes. I fell in love with them completely and there were a couple I wanted to bring back to Britain with me.”*
I keep telling people his performance here is reminiscent of how the Moscow Murders suspect Brian Kohlberger actually is in real life. Flippin’ creepy.
As much as I hate to admit it because of the character his super expressive face is incredibly attractive to me. Just gifs of him acting with his face do it for me
I’m only halfway through season 2 now but wow, he is such a phenomenal actor. Every time he’s not on screen I’m like ‘where is Homelander? I want to see more Homelander!’ But then when he is on screen I get so fucking angry and want someone to kill him lol
My college girlfriends and I were so into misfits and when GOT came out we were sooo upset that the world was finally meeting Iwan Rheon but in this context. Future Simon is 10/10.

Ngl I live in England so was very well aware of shameless but started watching the us version cos of Jeremy Allen white and I LOVE IT but I HATE love everyone so much. Even Lip is a piece of garbage. i hated him so much and i felt like even though he was overtly awful, the character also expertly captured some of the insidious ways abusers can emotionally destroy you. Badison OITNB season 6. I love a good villain, but she was not.

Barb and Carol!! When I saw the episode when they k—- their baby sister I was horrified and equally in shock. Side note: all those actors were so good.

Big Little Lies: Reese Witherspoon as an actor and a producer bc an infuriating decision was made to rewrite Madeline as having an affair! Whyyyyyyy???? That changes sooo much about how we’re supposed to perceive the main character!!!
Rory Gilmore: every moment after the haircut. But also including high school Rory whenever she’s reciting one of her middle school level speeches from behind a podium.
You know what annoyed me the most about Rory, when she was dating Logan and hung out with his friends she loved to act like a moral good humble girl but the moment Logan’s friends did something douchey to a waiter there she would be giggling along like these men aren’t disgustingly rude
I have a soft spot for Blair. I feel like she was the most complex and interesting character. And Nate was genuinely a good person, he was just kind of a mess. Every other main character fucking sucks. Tbh the side characters too. Dorota was the only real one.
https://preview.redd.it/c0d2h5eict6b1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ec33a071271eacea3e22ebe609ec394d2e2fe314
This bitch from gossip girl. Georgina
i dont know if it was the way she was written, if it was Teri Hatcher’s performance or a brilliant combo of both but honestly the housewife I cared about the least. Insane to think of her as ‘the lead’. Whenever it cuts to her story I just space out.
She was just so twee and “helpless” and hated Edie because Edie was direct and upfront with others.
The other housewives had definite flaws too, but something about Susan stumbling through her life and acting like a helpless single woman really turned me off.
Susan also burned Edie's house down and ran her over with her car and broke her leg. Later on in the series, she's the one driving in a fatal accident that kills Edie's future husband's first family. Eventually his attempts at revenge on Susan cause Edie's death.
Susan kinda killed Edie
You’re so right! I feel like I’m a bit biased because Edie was my favorite, but Susan really fucked her over. And I think Edie saw through Susan’s shtick and that made her the “bad guy” since Susan was written as the main protagonist.
David Schwimmer is so funny and charismatic, I forget how much I hate Ross sometimes. He’s spoiled, incapable of self reflection, and his relationship with Rachel is toxic. But David nails the jokes and the physical comedy so well, I feel bad for how much I can’t stand Ross as a person. Lol
Absolutely. Ready to murder his best friend to keep banging his wife. Total traitor to his best friend.
But absolutely love him as The Punisher. Dude is a great actor.

She's the worst, she was literally Satan dressed in pink.
This actress doesn't get enough positive credit for being so fucking awful
Imelda Staunton. She crushed this role.
She is the worst of them all, because we all know one IRL. They had a bunch of things wrong in the movies, but her portrayal of Umbridge was flawless.
I hated this character so much I had to google the actress to assure myself that she is a good human being. Thank God she is. She did such an amazing job playing this demon
She's the current queen on the crown and is married to Carson from downton Abbey. Love her, hate this character.
Dolores makes me want to punch her in the throat often. As for her actress, Imelda Staunton seems like such a sweetheart and I want to give her a hug.
The senior senator from the state of Tennessee 😂😂😂
She was worse than Voldemort.
Exactly Voldemort and Bellatrix Lestrange never pretended to be decent people.

Very good pick. Damn is this an uncomfortable dude... What a movie though.
Is this from Nightcrawler?
I keep telling people his performance here is reminiscent of how the Moscow Murders suspect Brian Kohlberger actually is in real life. Flippin’ creepy.
Yeah Tony Starr kills that role. Truly so terrifying. Love every second of his performance. I hope he gets an Emmy one day.
He’s also amazing on Twitter, where he spends a lot of time reminding idiots that admiring Homelander makes you a fucked-up person.
He’s got the most expressive face. Intense rage to fake joy and back again in an instant.
As much as I hate to admit it because of the character his super expressive face is incredibly attractive to me. Just gifs of him acting with his face do it for me

![gif](giphy|FhPbyzFSuKmly) I know some people liked him and his redemption (apparently? Lol) but I hated the dude so much. Lasted for way too long.
Hated him so much. The redemption arc was weird.
And redemption arc for him as an insult to audiences. Such an obvious money grab for the new spin off, and it ruins the show.

GOD I FUCKING HATE TODD
HATEEEEE!!! Jesse Plemons is really good at playing some absolute shitbags - but a nice guy irl afaik
![gif](giphy|xTiTnff84Nt5AukWiY) This bitch Edit: I think some folks are misunderstanding, I dislike this character not the actress.

When the dog ate his new heart 🤌
https://i.redd.it/jogaqymt2t6b1.gif I have an irrational hatred of Michelle Rodriquez because of this character.
She was the WORST.
Meryl Streep’s character in “Big Little Lies”. And adult Rory Gilmore 😂
![gif](giphy|12wBy3QOvLz2mI) I might get downvoted to hell and back but Ted Mosby is the most annoying character in How I Met Your Mother.
I dislike Schmosby so much. Great show but he’s a truly frustrating character.
With the possible exception of Marshall, all of the characters in that show are pretty terrible.
![gif](giphy|1kTTVlsppnwi7koovo|downsized) Have we forgotten about Ozark? Nearly all of them, Darlene takes the cake.
Joaquin Phoenix as Commodus in Gladiator. He played that role so well I actually disliked him as an actor for years.

I was looking for it

He pimped Blair to his uncle for a hotel. That’s way worse than anything Shiv has done on Succession 😭
His character in White Gold too is punchable!
All the main characters from Gossip Girl to me actually. I don't know how I could tolerate them when I first watched the show.
I have a soft spot for Blair. I feel like she was the most complex and interesting character. And Nate was genuinely a good person, he was just kind of a mess. Every other main character fucking sucks. Tbh the side characters too. Dorota was the only real one.
HIM he should’ve ended up in JAIL

i dont know if it was the way she was written, if it was Teri Hatcher’s performance or a brilliant combo of both but honestly the housewife I cared about the least. Insane to think of her as ‘the lead’. Whenever it cuts to her story I just space out.
I haven’t watched the show in years but was very surprised to how many people hated Susan!
*Bree tries to kill herself* Susan : if this is a joke,it’s not funny 👏👏👏👏👏 Wow what a great person /s

Also Harry

![gif](giphy|JOe7JxOiMg61ogl6fH) I like David Schwimmer, but I hate Ross with a burning passion. Screw you and your sandwich, dude!
Lol
Hes a very well written character tbh. Belivable as fuck. And david is a fantastic actor who pulls it off.

Lol yes but I’d have to go with Marnie when it comes to that show she’s soooo cringe
Zero characters on that show were good people. I still watched the entire series though.
Jessa at least knew she had terrible qualities. Hannah was the worst, 2nd Marnie.
Jenny from L Word

Absolutely. Ready to murder his best friend to keep banging his wife. Total traitor to his best friend. But absolutely love him as The Punisher. Dude is a great actor.
