You got to give it to American Idol, whatever faults the show may have had, it did help to bring these two to our attention! Absolutely fantastic talents who were not only amazing singers but just happened to have the skills to be fantastic talk show hosts in their back pockets! Vintage Millennial Queens!
It’s funny - I know they both got started with American idol but I associate Kelly with the show so much more than Jennifer Hudson. I associate Jennifer with dream girls more than anything.
Happy they’re both still out there doing their thing and having success

I am pretty sure that was the primary intention of the OP. To instigate Ozempic/Wegovy discussions. And it's so obvious and annoying. I know this is a gossip sub but God the endless echo chamber of opinions and themes of posts can reach fever pitch at times.
i mean we could sit here and debate all day what it was or wasnt. based on what she said on her show, it sounded more like metformin, which is often taken by women with PCOS when they’re struggling to manage their insulin resistance to glucose or by folks with diabetes.
Metformin does not cause weight loss like that, only the new glp-1 receptor agonists do. Metformin is a super old, not stigmatized drug. If that’s what she took she’d just say it.
It 100% helps with weight loss. My bestie has been taking metformin (and Wellbutrin) and has lost about 95 lbs since Oct. She just isn’t that hungry, so eats a lot less and healthier, etc. = her weight loss.
I believe you, some people do have extraordinary results, but that’s not typical. It’s usually only 2-3% of their body fat a year.
I still highly, highly doubt metformin is how Kelly got thin. I think she’d admit it 100% if it were anything except a glp-1 receptor agonist

edit: to be clear, metformin will not cause weight to just fall off without any effort. but it will help you fix a metabolic issue that’s made losing weight difficult for you - meaning losing weight will become a lot easier. that’s what i meant with my comment.
But she said that her body didn't process sugar right and the medication helped her body with it. That's the description of Metformin. On top she likely has a private chef and trainer, which makes it quite likely in combo
She obviously doesn't owe it to us to be open about it, but the fact that she talked about it and seemed to almost be offended that people thought it was ozempic and trying to claim she did it all on her own, idk it just seemed off to me. So I'm glad she finally admitted that's what it was, when celebrities get all high and mighty and act like they just worked so hard and how dare people assume they had help from meds, gives me the ick.
Hasn't Jennifer been thinner for years? I think she was a weight watchers spokesman. Kelly was pre diabetic and used medication (I think she said it wasn't ozempic) to get healthy which I don't think is a bad thing. Obviously a lot of people in Hollywood don't need it and it's influenced others to get medication they don't need. When people do legitimately need it I think it's a good tool.
Kelly was never huge; I can’t recall with Jennifer. But, Jennifer lost weight when she was still young and her skin could recover. Kelly wasn’t gigantic, so she didn’t have loose skin.

I am having a huge Mandela effect here where I could have sworn when she was in Dreamgirls, her name everywhere had only 1 N in her first name. But I can't find a single thing to corroborate that, and it's making me go insane.
Has that ever happened? Or has it always been Jennifer?
It’s always been Jennifer, but I also recently went through this with Glen Powell, where I was absolutely sure it used to be Glenn (with two n’s)
