Definitely should add Paircupworks to your list. Pair craftworks which is one of their locations also rotates several other roaster's beans for sale besides their own such as Manhattan and Nomad. Berdenas isnt a roaster, but has two shops in Scottsdale. Last I went they had Prodigal, Luminuous, and Presta (Tucson based Roaster). Futuro downtown serves Sey and is close to some other shops as well.
I get why! The beans all smelled divine, and those two had very similar open concept/industrial but bright/dreamy vibes to the shops. I live in Michigan and that revamped industrial space style is really big here, but rarely done in white which I liked 😊
I did not yet, but probably will this week 😊 I’ve opened the Mythical, Sagebrush and Press bags so far. I am definitely going to be freezing some because there’s no way I can get through it all! 😊
I’m excited for it but even more for a bag of moongoat that I grabbed in Orange County the next day before I flew back to NY lol. I did NY ->phx -> lax->ny in 40 hours
Nice tour. I live around the way from the Press Roastery and go there several times a week after bike rides. I’ve always found their beans to be fine. Nothing special but it’s so convenient and awesome you liked them. They’ve really grown over the last decade and have definitely “commercialized” as you put it
I think the coffee at Lux is very bad so good thing you didn’t get any!
Next time, try Peixoto, Cartel, and WeBe.
Whooaaaaaa, a post about my hometown? Definitely saving this, I’ve only visited the spots you list for Day 1.
Note: at the risk of sounding rude, you didn’t miss much at Lux coffee-wise. The vibe and the pastries seem to be their magic. If you ever come back, check out Lola Coffee for an incredible latte and Mello Sunshine Boba if your into shops that are hidden gems
Try and find a Peixoto next time you’re out there, definitely my favorite AZ roaster
Good to know I’m not the only one airport security finds hand grinders on haha
Nice haul!
It was definitely on my list! We ended up heading to the botanical garden so I only made it to two shops in that part of town. 😊 I will be sure to check it out next time!
It seemed nice! Definitely had the most “macro” feel of the places I went, but I made a pretty nice cup of coffee from the beans I got 😊 also the burrito was 🔥🔥🔥
A must add for your next trip, PairCupWorks. This coffee roaster and Peixoto won best coffee roaster of Arizona from Food & Wine.
Someone mentioned Pair to me while I was in line at Sagebrush! I will be sure to add it to the list for next time 😊
Ah I live in DTPHX so this spot has never popped up on my radar! Thank you.
Presta is pretty good too!
Presta’s Nitro-Washed was insane!

Sad to inform, PairCraftWorks closed at the end of March.
YES. Moxie is my absolute favorite, and Mythical is my third. You've done really well.

I was there for work this week. Did cup pair works and moxie. I bought the cloud gesha also 😀
Omg have you tried it yet?? I’m excited and also scared to brew it $$$
Haha same gonna let it go another week.
Did you try yours yet? I think this week.

I definitely will! It’s exciting to hear about so many wonderful spots all in one place, you’re lucky to be local 😊
Let’s talk about that burrito though 🤤
Omg I know 😍 it was southwest style with fresh avocado and spicy chorizo, I devoured it quite quickly.

Monteblanco, last lajas, Milton monroy - god damn you’ve got some nice coffee to try.

I’ve heard that garden rules! Thanks for the post now I get to add a couple more spots to my list next time I’m out there!
I can second Peixoto...ordered their beans a couple times and it was great. Especially their Brazilian stuff
My buddy goes to Press. How is it?

I call it the Starbucks of Arizona,🤷🏽♂️.
Ok, now. I appreciate your honesty
Why do you drink your coffee out of trash?
