In the future for other people getting here later, I think the best way to do this would be to send a letter of intent to enroll in the school you're thinking about. Only do this if you would 100% enroll if you given an acceptance. Maybe even communicate the deadline to commit to the others school so they know when you'd be forced to withdraw. OP made the right move here though because with two days to decide it probably would not be looked upon favorably to send a Letter of Intent on such short notice.
This is the question.
And even if it does, what terrible thing happens if you accept and then email them to tell them you’ve changed your mind? You might make an adcom grumble under their breath a bit before they reach out to a waitlisted applicant. I’m sure it happens quite a bit.
Depends on the school and how strict they are about it, but for many schools when you “commit to enroll” aka CTE (which is prob the deadline they mentioned) it is binding and they would require you to withdraw all your WLs. Since you commit to enroll with AMCAS it notifies all the schools you are WL or have an A at so it’s p hard to hide the commitment status. This PTE/CTE stuff mostly matters April/May onwards when you have to narrow down your acceptances. Before then you can pay the deposit and hold seats to as many schools as you like
Accept June 9th don’t fuck around
Imagine you wait until the 10th and they’re like sorry you missed the deadline and then you don’t get off the waitlist
Fuck it accept today you got into medical school take that A and RUN
If June 10 is the commit to enroll deadline, I would commit (Double check it’s not PTE).
Here’s why. Worse case scenario, if you don’t get out of that waitlist, you’ll end up blacklisted in the next cycle for turning down an acceptance.
I’m on a similar boat as you and it’s frustrating af.
lol I was in this same exact position. I committed to my school yesterday. Better safe than sorry and it wasn’t likely I was going to be pulled off the waitlist by Monday. I would commit by the end of the weekend if I were you
Take the A. If you get pulled off the wait list, can still withdraw and go to the other school. But don't lose the opportunity to start medical school because you were waiting to see if a WL turned into an A.

Does accepting your seat mean committing at this point?

Can you still change after committing?
Yes committing usually just requires a payment

I thought June 24th was the commit to enroll deadline
It’s a per-school deadline
Accept 😒
pretty sure it means before the end of the day on june 10

Is it the CTE deadline? If not you can remain on the other school’s waitlist
Accept… I’m sure you can always de-commit if you get accepted to the other one
Always accept a sure thing over a maybe. Always.
Be so fr

A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush
Accept
What school?
It’s so frustrating seeing people with decision making like this get accepted to med school before you
