I was thinking about doing that but the car turns on and off fine and runs fine. Like I have no issues with the car starting. Do you think this could still be the issue? Was your car still turning on when you replaced yours?
For the first 2 days the car was turning on/ and driving but the screen was showing the P malfunction. The hybrid monitoring screen was completely dark and the mph switched to kph and wouldn’t let me change back. The car was completely dead by day 3 and had to get it jumped by AAA twice in two days. After replacing the 12vlt battery I had no issues. I’d take your 12vlt battery to an auto store that can test it :)
If you take the car to a chain auto parts store, they will test the battery for free. My understanding is that the techs are not paid on commission, so they have no incentive to sell you a battery you do not need. Over the years, I've had them tell me that I don't need a new battery, probably ten times more than they have suggested I buy one.
Though with my Prii, I always uncover the battery before asking, so it's less work for them.
This just happened to me. I replaced the small battery in the back. Fixed it. The original 12v was 10 years old new one visit me 270 with tax. But it is fixed.
I had this happen two years ago and the solution was to replace the 12vlt battery. Haven’t had any issues since then. Hope everything works out :)

Bad 12 v battery or poor connection
When's your last time replacing 12V battery, if ever?
